"Don't Eat The Mushrooms" and other sage advice from the USS Oumuamua

Voxia: That’s a trading market for… Sentient Resources.

Is that what they're calling it these days?

Wes and V'Len are not playing nice again:

"Kel:  ::placing his hand on Greaves' shoulder::  Call Jack now.  Don't force my hand.

Wes shrugged off the man’s touch, taking a step to the side as his rage boiled up at the unveiled threat.
Greaves: (Threatening growl) What exactly does that mean?

There was a pause as V’Len obviously thought it over, although his face didn’t reveal much insight to what was going on in his head. The man’s expression remained determined and unchanged until he finally spoke again.

Kel:  You'll know it when it happens.

Wes immediately responded with resolve. His voice was quiet but commanding.

Greaves: Lieutenant, you are not to do anything without my express permission. Consider yourself on report."

Do I get exp or anything for being on report?  No?  Maybe?

Kel:  :: nodding to the bouncer still fumbling with his keys::  Are you hitting him or am I?

The comment struck him as ironic. For all of the times that V’Len chided him for jumping to violent action, here was the doctor now suggesting it. Had the situation not been so time sensitive or secretive he would have said something to point out the irony. Now wasn’t the time however.

Wes searched quickly for a weapon nearby and nearly jumped when his comm badge began vibrating in a rhythmic pattern. The room was quiet, and the vibration was loud enough to cause the bouncer to look up from the keys. Wes simply sighed, looked to his crewmates quickly, then through the hardest sucker punch he could muster.

The bouncer was faster than he looked. The keys clattered across the ground as the hulking man raised an arm in time to blunt the worst of the strike and quickly swung back at Wes, the punch narrowly missing his head.

Greaves: Little help please!

Promontory/Corelli/Kel/Bouncer: Response

The room was long but narrow, leaving little room for maneuvering to fight. It was four against one, but the first few seconds of the scrap really only left enough room for one on one or two on one at the best. The Marine did his best to keep the ogre of a man’s attention through punch and kick so the others could maneuver around him.

Greaves: Find something heavy then!

Promontory/Corelli/Kel/Bouncer: Response

This tidbit made me laugh and I can just see their faces...

Corelli: =/\= Corelli to bridge, we're going to need a few counselors in sickbay, the Colonel was hit with a weapon at close range, likely will survive, so that's normal.

It's all a standard, normal, ordinary day for @Wes Greaves

From the narration of Promontory:

Kammus, he’s… a very engineer-y engineer.

Understatement of the millenium.

Kel: =/\= Toz and I are here in the mess hall on Deck 4.  We can get the children, but could I suggest an alternate venue for our discussion?  Perhaps something less threatening than your office. =/\=

But...Greaves has the flamingo!

Vomek:  Commodore I hate to change the, but I received an urgent communication earlier on a channel I'm not familiar with.  It seems something called a "warranty" on the Oumuamua is no longer valid.  We could be on the hook for a lot of costs for repairs to failing system.   The person said that if we transferred some funds we could avoid extra costs later.

You're killing me, Smalls!

Promontory: Super good authority. Besides, I think the whole “being on report” thing just applies to the Marines.

That lined up for Vomek. Those guys always seemed to be riding the rails.

Because Marines can never have any fun.

Vomek:  We can't take the Nichols.  Don't you need a level 10 clearance just to get near it?

Vomek had not considered that Zi and TK were both JG's and that Avander was the intel officer. That likely came with some clout.  He cautiously followed them into the large vessel. (OOC - I assume this is the Trek equivalent of Cameron taking his Dad's Ferrari)

This doesn't bode well....

Corelli: Well, ::Kammus eyed the three PADDs in front of him already:: Admiral Schneider finally responded with approval plans for new super secret things. We will definitely have our hands full. But all that can wait, what do you have in mind?

SOOPER SEKRIT.  I wanna know!

Rox:  ::giving Kessler an exasperated look::  Of course I'll be useful.  I'm a medic. I can help if you're injured.  I'm also well known for my abilities to get people to do things.  I could be your biggest asset.

Rox is very convincing.

"Arlill: No way! With the mission I completely forgot about ship bingo. ::Obviously attempting to quell the excitement:: What did you find out?!

Promontory: Several options. Including an item that was “warned against on threat of being on report!”

Oh that was intriguing.  Zarah couldn’t help but get even more interested in what the men were saying.  If there was a threat of being on report, that meant it had to be fun and exciting."

Starfleet kids have a unique perspective on fun and exciting.

Johnson: I’ve been doing academy prep work *all day*.  I could totally use some fun.   Besides, I’m sixteen. It’s not like I’m a kid anymore.

But it was just a message.

**Want to be an escort for some ensigns? Be in the shuttle bay and just say “Rox sent you”. **

Toz shook her head, proceeded to ‘tidy-up’ her side of the small quarters.

Toz is not having any of it.  This must be the Starfleet equivalent of washing your hair.

Brodie: Sam...please tell me I’m not having aural hallucinations and you can hear that as well?

Samara: No…you’re completely sane…at least as much as you ever were.

@Alex Brodie, I'm not so sure about that. 😄

The others might well be on their best behavior with her around, but Ossa realized that she was going to have to try to be on her worst behavior -- or, at least, not fall into the familiar and comfortable role dictated by her rank and position.

I really really really want to see V'Airu on her worst behaviour!

Kammus did wonder what had become of the other children, andThis was, all things considered, a good sign, since Ossa wasn't sure if Krystal would like to leave the 'Oumuamua any time soon. for a time pondered on what it might be like to command children of his own. He was certain they were easier than warp nacelles.

HAHAHAHAHAHA.  Oh yeah, you keep telling yourself that.  Oh, I have a bridge for sale... :)

Rox watched as V'Airu made some kind of hand gesture at the sky.  Perhaps she was more upset that Rox had thought.

A great reminder that the Universal Translator doesn't work on body language!

Kessler: Rox, am I seeing things or are you a rainbow?

V'Airu/Krystal: Response

Rox:  Great this is.  A shot of that I should have myself ::picks up hypospray::

Ok, Rox was talking funny and looked like a paint swatch gone wrong.

Jack Kessler you old charmer you.

V'Len launched himself off the cliff and straightened his body.  He entered the water feet first while Toz drew in her breath, her eyes wide. Finally, he was bursting above the water. He finally turned back to the cliffs and saw Toz above him.

Kel:  Whooo!  That's gets the blood going.  Head that way ::pointing::  I'll get back up the rocks and meet you.

Toz: Sure! Anything you say. ::under her breath:: How did I end up with the only nut for a CMO in Starfleet?

It's a question we're all asking.  Well done @Toz

Rox:  Thankfully my XO ::nodding to Cabrillo:: has joined me in this effort.  Now this is deck 6 where the Armory and Brig are also located.  One deck up from down from here is "Club Rox", the Oumuamua's more exciting version of 10-Forward.  You'll also find sickbay there, the main mess hall and gym with a pool.

Cabrillo: Every other Tuesday night is disco night in the pool. Watch out for the Delaney sister’s. (beat) They like swimming, umm, shall we say freely.

Tyber: who are the Delaney sister’s and can you introduce  me?

Brodie: I’m not quite that confident yet – I think a low profile might be required while we find our feet.

Promontory: Sure. ::continuing to smile:: You got to find your footing if you’re going to dance.

I just loved this imagery!
