VLen Kel Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Quote Corelli: So what if we use the gravitational waves of the pulsar, and focus them into a singularity. That way, we don't have to generate nearly as powerful a beam. We create a parabolic gravity reflector with our beam, near the star, and utilize the pulsar's own gravity, focusing it into a point and increasing it by our own beam. Thoughts? @Kammus Corelli I think this is why I play this game. 1 Quote
Theo Whittaker Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Quote The view out the front screen continued to turn as the Arlil took the shuttle toward the planet. Slowly the great orb began to fill their viewscreen, the vast oceans of the planet a vibrant blue-ish purple. It was a serene view and V'Len took a moment to appreciate it. While the initial day in 2265 was exhausting, the subsequent days had been much better. Other's had taken over at helm, navigation and communication and V'Len had gotten into sickbay and back into his role as doctor. This had allowed him to "close the faucet" from Xam Kel's memories somewhat. That was until he had been inextricably drawn to engineering. The memory that had surfaced was visceral, and V'Len was doing his best to push it out of his mind. I thought that this was beautifully written @VLen Kel ♥️ 2 1 Quote
VLen Kel Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 (edited) Quote They had barely finished speaking when the bridge they were on suddenly leaned to the left and the group went Tumbling over themselves down the side of it. They landed in a heap on the street that ran below the bridge. Fortunately there was no traffic. Terry: ::scowling at Etan:: Leave the apartment, he says. It will be safe, he says. Tyber: :: putting down the statues and facing the Gelf woman and in a loud voice:: ENOUGH. You Woman are a mean spirited, Foul tempered Abusive Bully. Your son is a loyal and caring man. He has never said a bad word about you since we met. How he has tolerated your abuse is beyond me. :: turning to face Grian :: Grian I apologise to you, I have not been as nice to you as i could have, Yet you have been nothing but pleasant to me. The tolerance you show to your mother Does you Great Honour. You have my Respect and sympathy. With that said Tyber walks over to retrieve the ornaments and waits for the group to start moving again Tyber showing off his Klingon side. Very nice. Edited March 30, 2023 by VLen Kel 1 Quote

Alora DeVeau Posted April 6, 2023 Author Posted April 6, 2023 Quote She had not given much thought of where she was going. In fact, she rather hoped she would simply stumble upon an exit or a service duct that might take her to freedom. Was it naive? Absolutely. But she was a novice at this- the only thing she had ever escaped from a lover’s bedroom when their wife came home. This was much different. And just when I was starting to feel sorry for her... 2 Quote
Theo Whittaker Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Quote In the sky, something writhed, its light, purple inside a ring of white, warned the planet below that it was in danger. This was beautiful prose in a truly great sim, @Alora DeVeau. 1 1 Quote
Alora DeVeau Posted April 8, 2023 Author Posted April 8, 2023 (edited) Quote A short time later the aide returned with four aliens—each with a distinct look, three of them in similar uniforms, one, smaller and curled up around the neck of the pale, most textured one. The one with smooth skin and a black mat of a cap—no, that was some sort of growth out the top of its head!—spoke first. @Etan Iljor's hairdo through the eyes of an alien. Avander Promontory Posted April 8, 2023 Posted April 8, 2023 Quote Kammus really had no idea how the Gelf ran their society, and it was entirely possible this was the leader of their whole race speaking. Looks like another vote for Balufdra for Grand Papasta! 2 Quote

Popular Post Alora DeVeau Posted April 13, 2023 Author Popular Post Posted April 13, 2023 Quote Before Wes could voice his concern about using a 2260’s hand phaser to close a airship sized door, V'Len hurried out of the shuttle and the Marine sighed at yet another example of Kel’s impulsivity. Greaves: (Sounding tired) Let’s go help before he shoots himself on accident. Wes learns what it feels like to be a parent. 5 Quote
Theo Whittaker Posted April 13, 2023 Posted April 13, 2023 Quote It was another one of those days. A rogue Rox, a missile attack, an interruption from a regional manager. That’s “international sales director” to you @DrPsyPhi. 🤣🤣🤣 1 2 Quote
VLen Kel Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Quote It was one of the many minor annoyances he’d been facing on this mission that had added to an air of frustration. Not the least of which had been V’Len Kel. The Doctor’s attitude was approaching Wes’s last nerve and he wasn’t precisely sure how else to deal with it. There had always been discussions of ‘leadership challenges’ while Wes had been in the academy, or during his professional development as an NCO, and then as an officer. This however was borderline criminal with the audacity of the man’s insubordination sometimes. The Marine made a mental note to discuss it with the skipper when they were back to more of a standard operating environment. Criminal really? I'm not selling death sticks or anything. 2 Quote
Theo Whittaker Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Quote The new Commander never stopped impressing Toxin, he knew Etan was a missions specialist but until he met this man he never considered that career path. He liked diversifying his skills but this was the next level and it was amazing to watch. Promote @Toxin Arlill. Immediately! 4 Quote

VLen Kel Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 (edited) Quote Quinta: Let’s just say I may call in a favour at some later date. Until then, what do you want *done* with Rox? I can make her disappear. I can change her into a newt. V’Airu: Would she get better? But then Ossa shook her head. No, of course she wasn't seriously considering Quinta's offer to transform Rox. Alora DeVeau Posted May 31, 2023 Author Posted May 31, 2023 Quote Richards: Computer. Deck.. Fou…si…eeven? The computer responded as such with a sound that presumably meant that there was no such ridiculously named deck and the First Officer released an audible snort of amusement. Richards: Heh, Silly computer, Eh? He looked at Greaves nervously once more. Richards: Maybe you try? Greaves: I don’t think the turbolift knows where deck fousieeven is. Quote
Alora DeVeau Posted June 8, 2023 Author Posted June 8, 2023 Quote While Avander did his best to keep his aloud tone neutral, he started making frantic eyes at Zarah and Lia, hoping to communicate something along the lines of “Danger! Danger! We’re flying too close to the sun. I don’t know if we’ll get in trouble with DTI, but I have an interview in the morning and need plausible deniability!”—if such things could be communicated why wide-eyes and raised eyebrows. This gave me a chuckle. Quote

Josh Herrick Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 Quote @Kammus Corelli: Flashes of bold battles between Klingons grew in Tan's mind. It was now or never. Choosing never, he let the situation resolve itself. This was super unexpected and literally made me laugh out loud. 🤣 1 Quote
Alora DeVeau Posted June 21, 2023 Author Posted June 21, 2023 Quote Corelli: Anyone have training in diplomacy? I think the mission is: don't start a war. That pretty much sums up most missions. 😄 Quote
Alora DeVeau Posted June 22, 2023 Author Posted June 22, 2023 Quote Kammus made a face like his brain was locked in the formation of a word. In reality, his mind was deeply searching for the most cutting insult to hurl at the computer. Hatred for computers jumped up into his thought process. Then he realised that was futile and most modern technology relied heavily on automation. Still, contempt for the heuristic programming of modern federation computers was growing. Oo, that's not good coming from an Engineer who can dismantle you! Quote
