"Don't Eat The Mushrooms" and other sage advice from the USS Oumuamua

Arlill: Umm, sir, I may have unintentionally discovered something.

Scanning down, Iljor saw the Operations Chief’s foot atop another depressed stone switch. Given what had happened prior, his heart sank.

Etan: oO We have to start watching where we are going… Oo

Arlill: My foot appears to have depressed another switch.

Maxwell: It’s no your day, is it?

This whole moment. I can just hear the dryness of the comment from @Toxin Arlill

Promontory: Either way, it sounds like something that would be helped by more scans!

He enthusiastically raised his tricorder and made a big show of sweeping it in all directions.

Brodie: ::Smiling:: You’ve gone scanner daft.

The mood was light, but just because they were having a good time, didn’t mean that the investigation wasn’t important, and Avander was careful to ensure that everything he was detected got recorded in the database. Who knew what small factoid could eventually be the key to locking the ancient mysteries before them?

Katsim: Promontory, would you continue the scans? I’m going to take a closer and longer look at the inscriptions.

Promontory: Aye, aye. These rocks are going to get scanned like they’ve never been scanned before!

As the words came out, Avander realized that they were much more silly than he intended. With a mental shrug, he decided to lean into it and pointed his tricorder with flourish, as if clearing a room of hostiles: scan scan scan.

Someone likes scans a little bit too much....

Rouiancet: Do you mean that Ensign Nilsen actually went somewhere, like a transporter? Or that we might?

Michele through a glance back to the Commander. oO If only they had taken him. No, be nice Michele, he’s just young and eager. Too eager. Oo

How Rude. Nilsen's lovely 😂😂 @Jack Kessler

Winters: With all respect, you are in command of the ship. I do not think you should be leading this endeavor. ::beat:: the crew will need your experience and as your XO I am the better choice to be sent. oO Plus sending Nilsen which may sound fun is likely a train wreck waiting to happen. Oo

...yes 😂

I'm just imaging some night shift janitor finding Nislen tied up in the Ops Center with a note pinned to his chest. "MAIL-Federation Express. Feringinar. Postage Due"

Not from a sim, but....... 😂😂

Had the Nilsen family made enemies with the Sherlocks as well as the O'Reilly’s?

Clearly the Nilsens ran afoul of the Irish at some point in history.

The man seemed to have more empathy for the situation than Nislen did and probably would be less likely to get them all Killed. oO Michele, stop it. He’s not going to get you killed. At least not right away. Oo

Thats all that matters right, not getting killed right away. 😅 @Jack Kessler

She could tell a Marine to gut up and get moving, to set it aside and push on but Starfleet taught things a little different and she needed to respect that and offer that level of leadership to her team.

Hold up, are you saying the naval branch is soft? How dare! 🤣

Toz looked back toward the barge and the lightship and the woman still cloaked in a golden robe.

That was definitely a lightship.

Golden Woman: Feed them.

Well that's terrifying @Toz

Does anyone know Brodie's tag, cause this line deserves kudos!

Quite a lot had happened in the last twenty months or so. He'd been “killed in action”, actually wounded, lost upon a planet wracked by civil war and none-too-friendly towards the Federation, fought as part of a group trying to reestablish the lawful government, wounded again, been on the run and then escaped. He'd then been put through the mill by Starfleet Intel, retrained as a Marine and then fired off to a different quadrant instead of back to 118 and his daughter.

Also known as a quiet Thursday afternoon for @Arturo Maxwell.

He trailed off, unsure how to vocalise the strange sense that they were truly supposed to be here. That it was – out of all other sentient beings in the galaxy – this exact quartet that were needed here, and now.

As if somehow they had become the very guardians of a galaxy.

For example, for the last hour Va’Mu’Bel had been explaining, in excruciating detail, an old Terran sport called “rugby.” Apparently, some of the senior officers were creating a sports league and one of them thought that recruiting a 2.2 meter beefcake ‘ringer’ would be loads of fun.

Yes. A 2.2 meter Bullerox in a game of rugby would be a lot of fun. 😂 @DrPsyPhi

A fight was the only thing left to do. Toz decided right then that she would like to be the one pushing missile buttons. oO Hippocratic oath, Toz!! Oo

As the finale of Picard series 3 has shown us, we really should let the good doctor fire a couple of missiles 😂 @Toz @Jack Kessler

Toz: His state of mind is too deep. If we try to help him, he could, umm, die or slip into a coma.

Fer’at: Lieutenant, Commodore V’Airu asked that disabling the moon’s offensive systems should take top priority.

He paused ever so briefly before he added -

Fer’at: However, I believe that message is now unnecessary.

Never before has anything been so relateable @Alora DeVeau

Josh had no intention of taking permanent residence on the planet; while ascension sounded a bit fascinating, the engineer’s vanity wasn’t quite ready to lose the flesh and bones.

Aine realized just how cold she sounded in that moment, but she'd had enough. It was time to finish this fight and get everyone home...and she was getting hungry.

Firefights make one hungry.
