The Aurelian had to think for a moment to process that comment and try not to instantly start laughing. Kettick’s deadpan delivery was a good laugh so long as one understood there was a certain degree of hyperbole in the things he was getting across. He found himself working to partially match the way he spoke as a means of reading between the lines.

And this place was a bit of a mess. So the Remmillian wasn’t exactly wrong.

Dekas: Leveling the place, and a few people, with an antimatter bomb is quite the dramatic starting point. It would certainly make a statement.

Kettick turned to Dekas.

Kettick: Ah, a translation mistake. An antimatter bomb, while satisfactory, would do more harm than strictly necessary. I meant the opposite of a neutron bomb. Destroy the infrastructure, leave living beings intact.

Dekas: Well I agree with leaving things alive. Still, let’s save the bombs for the off chance nothing else works. What other options do we have?

Kettick: Bury the whole mess in ferroconcrete and start over?

 

For the record, I like Kettick's plan. Well, both of them 😂
