Dekas Posted September 3, 2022 Author Posted September 3, 2022 @John Kendrick I mean at least he's honest with himself 😆 Quote He looked down at his glass of champagne and wondered how many languages he'd be speaking at the end of the night. oO Probably just gibberish. Oo 1 3 Quote
Dekas Posted September 7, 2022 Author Posted September 7, 2022 @John Kendrick I know it wasn't a literal fourth wall break, but it really bordered on it. Like I could see him looking into the metaphorical camera at everyone as he realizes what he said. Quote Kendrick: Congratulations everyone! Now let's party like it's 2399. ::pauses, realizing:: Yeah I know. 4 Quote
Dekas Posted September 7, 2022 Author Posted September 7, 2022 But also @TLea's reaction to Dekas and Yael is very funny. 😆 Quote The colorful feathers and the colorful hair flew around, and honestly, T’Lea couldn’t look away. The two were obviously having fun shaking and gyrating to the music, but T’Lea’s very Vulcan eyebrow was at the full height of “that is not logical”. It’s not that they were dancing badly, it was simply the fact that she’d never been a witness to such a display of rhythm before. It was fascinating, somewhat comical (seeing as how they were both clearly drunk), and slightly disturbing – yet she couldn’t look away. But she had to look away, or at least blink before her eyes dried out. 1 3 Quote
Dekas Posted September 13, 2022 Author Posted September 13, 2022 @Tomas Falt "an entrance to Sto-vo-kor" I literally snorted laughing. 🤣 I love it when Tomas really lets himself get sassy. Best. Quote Falt: ::tapping the units case:: Sorry to keep you all waiting. I figured we might need this since we’re going underground. ::mocking excitement:: Who knows what we’ll find down there? Secret tunnels? An entrance to Sto-vo-kor? 3 Quote
Dekas Posted September 15, 2022 Author Posted September 15, 2022 @Jaelyne Isa This gets a mention very specifically because of the image and thought it gave me afterwards. Which was a chuckle. I'm pretty sure this grouping is going to be the most colorful team on accident. We've got Counselor Yael with his purple colors, we've got Neshala with her Orion green, and of course we've got Dekas. AKA: Rainbow Bright: Bird Edition. Like we're set. RGB crew represent. 😉 Quote Her green skin tended to attract enough attention as it was. And besides, the Counselor’s lavender hair would make a nice contrast to her green color. 2 1 Quote
Dekas Posted September 15, 2022 Author Posted September 15, 2022 Quote Kettick: Do you mean the directional sonic generator, Sir? Very useful for mapping undeground spaces via echolocation, and as a deterrent for voles and various rodent and insect species as a side effect. Also highly painful to Ferengi, not that I expect an underground battle against Ferengi in the immediate future. @Kettick says, while also playing a Ferengi MSNPC for this mission, actually, so who knows. Maybe that's hilarious foreshadowing. But also Quote Kettick: I may have been partnered with Marines a mission too many, but I believe the jocular saying is “there is no such thing as overkill, just ‘open fire’ and ‘time to reload’ ”. I'm wheezing. I love Kettick's way of existing with my entire soul. He really just says what he's thinking and it's almost always comedy gold on accident. 🤣 2 2 Quote
Dekas Posted September 21, 2022 Author Posted September 21, 2022 @Jaelyne Isa I love Neshala. I just do. And you have to love a faulty replicator. Those things are never working the way they should, I swear. Ops and Engineering really have their work cut out for them. 😆 Quote Neshala: Anyone thirsty? Barric, Dekas? Dekas / Barric: Response Neshala: I need to test it. Thought we might all enjoy a refreshing drink at the same time. Dekas / Barric: Response She ordered a glass of cool water for herself, along with drinks for the other two. Satisfied that it was working, though the taste test remained, she took the drinks to Barric and Dekas, then took a long swallow of her water. It did not taste like water. She quickly, and as politely as she could manage, returned the liquid to the glass and then looked apologetically at them both. Neshala: Welp. Seems like I have a bit of fine tuning to do. 1 1 2 Quote
Popular Post John Kendrick Posted September 21, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) Loved this bit of dialogue from our favorite Aurelian officer Lieutenant @Dekas. Wise words indeed! Quote Dekas: Agreed. Don’t feel too bad about any of it right now. There is an odd sense of impostor syndrome to one’s first real mission. Up until now everything in the academy was primarily simulations and theoretical scenarios. They were examples of things that other people did in their situations. And you swear to yourself you’ll remember those things in the moment, but you rarely ever do in the way you expect. It’s never the same as something you’ve read before. It makes it easy to think to yourself that you got a degree for this, but feel as though you tricked everyone to get it because you’ve only trained up until now. Confidence comes with experience, and even then sometimes it can falter. That’s normal, and it’s okay. It’s part of the ongoing learning curve. You can’t truly improve without mistakes to learn from. You’ve got this, and I trust that. Edited September 21, 2022 by John Kendrick forgot the tag 5 Quote
Popular Post Dekas Posted September 22, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted September 22, 2022 @Kettick is unendingly funny at all times. Quote And, without deviating from his usual character enough to warrant the sentence with an exclamation point, he thought: 'Oh no, not again.' 1 1 3 Quote
Dekas Posted September 22, 2022 Author Posted September 22, 2022 @Marcus Barrick I somehow missed this one yesterday when I first read it, but upon reflection I had a very mature little giggle about this reading it again. Quote Barric: ::Turning to Neshala and playfully smirked at her:: How did you know that's what I was gonna do? Though I will probably start with the beds, that seems to be the most likely place to put a 'surprise' for someone He put the word Surprise in finger quotations, hoping that the other two would know what he meant by the finger gesture. 3 Quote
Popular Post Dekas Posted September 23, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted September 23, 2022 @Tomas Falt Love the visual of "I'm going to whistle to give them something to follow" but instead they have to follow the coughing. Quote Falt: It’s definitely thinning out, follow the sound of my voice. He began to whistle a tune for his friends to hear, but it quickly turned into a hacking cough. oO I suppose that will have to do… Oo 2 3 Quote
Dekas Posted September 24, 2022 Author Posted September 24, 2022 Our newest Ensign, Vermillion Vox over here with the fantastic descriptions of things out the gate. "Surfboard in space" gives a good visual and a hilarious energy for the opinion about the trip to the station. Love this one already. Quote Now, her orders had said to jump on two transports, a small shuttle, and what she could only describe as a surfboard through space, to arrive at Denali Station. 1 2 Quote
Popular Post TLea Posted September 25, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 25, 2022 (edited) @John Kendrick That's it. You're not allowed to touch anything else. Quote John reached out his hand and tapped on the glass. Kendrick: You think this will hold? As he tapped the glass one last time, John squinted his eyes as it seemed there was a hairline crack forming. oO Oops. Oo Kendrick: ::turning to the others, slightly worried:: That crack was already there, wasn’t it? Edited September 25, 2022 by TLea 6 Quote
Dekas Posted September 25, 2022 Author Posted September 25, 2022 @Ashley Yael I'd still bee interested in seeing that lol 🤣 Quote Mostly he was just glad he didn't have to do an introductory dance like Earth bees did. His dance accent would bee atrocious. 3 Quote
Popular Post Dekas Posted September 26, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted September 26, 2022 @Oddas Aria You know, Ton is right. We should schedule these types of emergencies better. 😉 Quote Ton: Possibly, but in fairness, you are slightly early and emergencies do not always happen on schedule. 4 1 Quote
Popular Post Dekas Posted September 28, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted September 28, 2022 (edited) Once again our newest ensign, Vermillion Vox, deserves a mention. Because Vox is turning out to be a super excellent writer and we're lucky to have them. Quote When she had received her orders - which seemed like years ago at this point - all she knew about this place was rumors. Rumors of the excitement. Rumors of the ancient technology. And rumors that there weren't enough Starfleet officers and personnel to truly contain the place. No one said it was a warzone. No had said anything negative at all. But the sideways glances on the way here said enough: everyone was glad they weren't ordered here. Everyone was glad they got to sleep just a little more safely than wherever she was going to end up. That's a beautiful set of descriptions. But also from the same sim. Quote Vox: Reporting for duty. One bona-fide medically medic, at your service. She paused, staring at Hesan. Whatever had just come out of her own mouth was baffling. It hadn't sounded like her. Way too colloquial. Way too perky. Amidst the smoke, destruction, and debris, had she decided to be the ray of sunshine? She shivered just thinking about it. Time to focus on what was happening next. Gotta love a "wait why'd I do that?" moment. Edited September 28, 2022 by Dekas 4 1 Quote
Dekas Posted September 30, 2022 Author Posted September 30, 2022 @Kettick I love when you write things. There's always at least a small zinger somewhere. And honestly your Ferengi writing vibes are where it's at. Quote Yhanne: What was that? Kaybay did his level best to look innocent, an endeavour doomed to certain failure from the start for any Ferengi worth their latinum. Kaybay: Your guess is as good as mine. You are the local, after all. 3 Quote
Dekas Posted October 1, 2022 Author Posted October 1, 2022 @Kettick is at it again with the excellent narrative humor. Quote Falt: I think phasers might be in order now? Set to stun first, in case it’s a sentient species… Yes, it would be a shame to accidentally set their phasers to ‘hurt their feelings ‘. Kettick shook his head to erase the intrusive thought before concentrating on his brute-force program, trying to input some sequences by hand on a separate program to try and scrape a few seconds of so precious time. 4 Quote
Popular Post Dekas Posted October 3, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted October 3, 2022 Vermillion Vox is very quickly getting up there on the list of people who have managed to get a good chuckle out of me in every one of their sims, I swear. She might have only laughed internally, but I laughed externally. Quote Vox: My eyes are peeled. Like an onion. Vox laughed internally at her own dumb joke. If she continued like this, her new crew might force her to take mandatory counseling. 3 3 Quote
Popular Post Dekas Posted October 5, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted October 5, 2022 "Like meatballs?" The best universal constant. @Kettick 10/10. I can't. There are actual tears of laughter. 🤣 Quote Kettick: ... The burrower in me doesn't complain, but are crawlways an universal constant, in your experience, Sir? Like meatballs? 1 4 Quote

Popular Post Gogigobo Fairhug Posted October 6, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 6, 2022 Love this imagery from @Kettick 😂 Quote The turbolift ride was representative of its species, with a Security officer who tried to look anywhere but in Kaybay's general direction while keeping an eye on him, and muzzak that was probably in contempt of several galactic regulations for the humane treatment of sentient beings. Being blessed with large ears and near-absolute pitch was... not a blessing in the circumstance. 5 Quote
Popular Post Gogigobo Fairhug Posted October 6, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 6, 2022 👀👀👀🤣👌🏻 @Tomas Falt Quote All the extra words and descriptions sometimes left her feeling like she was in a story being told by other people. 2 4 Quote
Popular Post Serala Posted October 6, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 6, 2022 Quote Oddas: Starfleet does not exempt anyone from regulations, and we don't generally tax when people visit our facilities. I'm not an authoritarian. Don't blow up our buildings, and you won't have any problems with us. Co-inhabit peacefully and we'll tend to have a long relationship. Says @Oddas Aria to the Ferengi arms dealer and Cardassian extremist on the heels of a building exploding and collapsing for unknown reasons. 🤣 2 3 Quote
Popular Post Serala Posted October 6, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 6, 2022 Have to add this with the one above. It's just too much 😂 Quote Oddas: Yes, I know in addition to providing supplies, there has been talk of officer exchanges and more. However, before we can finalize those plans the Daimon has touched on one thing, we do need to ensure no one is bringing anything into the city we don't want. I am not authoritarian, but I did have a building collapse this morning, and do not wish a repeat of it, especially with less than ::beat:: well known visitors coming to visit. She glanced at the Feringi. 2 3 Quote
