Tony, aka Rouiancet Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Welcome back, my friends, to another Writing Challenge! This regular Challenge follows our special events in July and August, so if you placed yourself in the mindset of the monthlong affair, be sure to read this extra carefully for a restatement of the regular rules.Kristen, the writer behind Velana and the winner of the August round, has selected this Challenge's topic,"Isn't it Romantic?"How will you interpret the theme? Perhaps you read it literally? Ironically? Humorously? Whatever your take, I look forward to reading your entry! To participate in the challenge, please create a new thread. From the "Topic Prefix" selection list, choose "Sep/Oct" -- don't forget to do this, because without it your story won't be considered for this round! You may denote your story as a "Work in Progress," but please do so at the beginning of the story (not in the thread topic), and remember to finish it before the deadline, as any story noted as a work in progress will not be considered. As always, please remember:*Your work must be completely original.*You must be the sole author of the work.*Your story must take place in the Star Trek universe, but may not center upon canon characters. *Sign your final draft as you would a post on your ship.*Your story must be between 300 and 3000 words. As of today, Tuesday, September 4th, this Challenge is open! The very last day to enter is Friday, October 26th, so get in your entry before then! For any questions you might have, remember that you can always visit the Writing Challenge website.Good luck!
Tony, aka Rouiancet Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 Hmmm, interesting topic!Which means you'll be entering, riiiiiiight?
Hannibal Parker Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Being as my character is as romantic as a rock, this would indeed be a challenge.... 2
T'Mihn Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Oh my word,hehehe. That's a scream. Romantic rock.
+ Velana Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Everyone's been in love at one time or another. The only exception to this is Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory. 1
+ Vitor S. Silveira Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Well... No, never mind...Interesting subject, but I am not sure my writing is yet up to the challenge. But I might enter just for the laughs...
T'Mihn Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Sheldon Cooper,oh man that man is messed up. Hilarious though. Love TBBT. Go ahead and enter Vitor, its free and won't hurt. I don't think I'm up to snuff either but T'Mihn had a husband.
Segolene LeMarnix Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 It don't have to be a story about your characters, you can create completely new ones. Why not writing about the love of space amoeba for crystalline entity stuck into the comet flying into the sun and it's broken heart when realize she can't help her love to leave the comet... 1
+ Vitor S. Silveira Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 I was actually thinking on a holodeck program...Having the male character lead the female to a medieval tournement, to fight with her scarff, but having it so real she would ditch him...Isn't that romantic...
+ Clase Drene Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 topics,..Romantic premonitions? How does love change us? or how about a Helen of Troy-ish thing?a Civilization in love with,.. itself,? and is looking at itself for answers.or a glass slipper event like?isn't it a mad romantic who is obsessed with a long lost love.(if I do enter, I will most likely have this as my topic of choice.)
Bryce Tagren-Quinn Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Or even unrequited love? Or even a twisted sense of romance?I may consider writing something but I have to get myself back in the game. I haven't wrote anything, really, in years, ha!
Hannibal Parker Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 It is time you do so..let's make a deal...you write one, and I'll write one....I have a couple of ideas...Parker is still a rock, but I do have an idea.... 1
T'Mihn Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Ooo.i want to hear this one. Parker, how are you holding up?
Hannibal Parker Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I am awaiting a response to my query...however, just in case, I am fleshing it out.....
