Reen Sullivan Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Whoa whoa whoa! How come Belinda Desdemona didn't graduate? Or Thomas Patterson for that matter? Or Laila Renek??? I'm confused: I thought I would be at least the third one to graduate. And I'm confused as to why most of my class is still in the Academy!!! GAH! Quote
Alleran Tan Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) Whoa whoa whoa! How come Belinda Desdemona didn't graduate? Or Thomas Patterson for that matter? Or Laila Renek??? I'm confused: I thought I would be at least the third one to graduate. And I'm confused as to why most of my class is still in the Academy!!! GAH!Aww, okay, since you want to ruin the magic... For academy classes, in order to make sure that there's plenty of guidance for new players and so that the sims remain on-track, the new player(s) learn the way things we do things rather than getting into bad habits (or completely lost!), what we do is... we get experienced simmers (full Lieutenant or higher) to ghost-write cadets. The idea is that these cadets keep the class going and make a good example for the rest of the new writers.So... if there were people in your cadet cruise who were great writers, who wrote at least three sims, who displayed correct formatting and who were right on track to graduate but didn't- it's almost certain that they were experienced writers who were ghost-writing cadets. Sorry to spoil the illusion for you. I know for me, I was shocked that "only" two people graduated from my own class, so it's okay. I know how it is. Once again... welcome to the fleet. (PS- no, I wasn't one of the cadets...) Edited March 22, 2011 by Alleran Tan/Radi Rais Quote
+ Saveron Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Okay, that's creepy but still . . .I dunno, I ended up serving with one of my ghost-cadet-writers, which was kind of cool, and it beats having an empty class. 1 Quote
Reen Sullivan Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I suppose it does. But still. I wonder how many "fake cadets" are in my friends class. The first officer on my ship is the second in command in her training aparently, but as far as I know, a lot of people do that. Quote

But for the record, I think there's only one "extra" cadet, since we had five applicants Quote
Liam Frost Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I may have been the only "real" cadet in my class, which also happened to include my current First Officer. Quote
+ Oliver Weston Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Welcome to the fleet! After I graduated I ransacked the wikis searching for my other classmates to see if I could tell who was who. Sneaky Command types. Quote

Reen Sullivan Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Welcome to the fleet! After I graduated I ransacked the wikis searching for my other classmates to see if I could tell who was who. Sneaky Command types. That's what I did. I couldn't find any of my class mates apart from my superior officers. I think someone needs to tell Re'Maru to make her way to the wiki and start up a page. I can only find her on here! Quote
