  10. Sometimes I miss living in a smaller city. Time used to feel like it moved so much slower.

  11. ((Finnegan's quarters, Deck 4, USS Independence-A)) ::Off duty, Donall paced around the cramped quarters, staring in turn at each of the bare walls.:: oO All that traveling, all those places, and everything I own still leaves a space this small looking this empty? I didn't thought I'd ever regret not being the souvenir sort, but this is just sad. If these quarters were any larger, one would just think they were unassigned. Still, at least the Indy isn't one of the ships that bunks junior officers two to a room. Oo ::He moved again to a different wall:: oO A viewport would be nice, though. Still, I was the one wanted penance... I can hardly complain now that the space is too austere. Oo ::He turned towards the small console in one corner.:: oO I've got to take the time one night to transfer my holovid collection, though. I'm going to go stir crazy if all I do is work my shifts and train in the gym. Oo Riley: =/\=Fleet Captain Riley to Lieutenant W'tine and Ensign Finnegan.=/\= W'tine:=/\=W'tine here Sir=/\= Finnegan: =/\=Yes, sir?=/\= Riley: =/\=I would like you both to meet me in Security gentlemen. I plan on speaking with Mister Handley Page who is in the brig.=/\= W'tine:=/\=Aye Sir=/\= Finnegan: =/\=On the way, sir.=/\= Riley: =/\=Very good, five minutes then, Main Security. Riley out.=/\= ::He smiled.:: oO I'll take that over a vid any day. Oo ---------- ((Main Security, USS Independence-A)) ::Sidney walked into the room with authority.:: Riley: Lieutenant W'tine. ::She nodded.:: It's good to see you feeling better. W'tine: Thank you Sir. You too. ::Turning to the new Tactical Officer.:: Riley: And you must be Ensign Finnegan. ::She smiled lightly.:: Fleet Captain Riley. ::She reached out to shake his hand in the Terran fashion.:: Finnegan: ::shaking her hand:: A pleasure, sir. Riley: Welcome aboard Ensign. It is good to finally meet you. Finnegan is a very good name. ::The Terran/Deltan with the Irish heritage held a smile that brightened.:: Finnegan: ::smiling crookedly as their somewhat similar green gazes met:: As is Riley, Captain. I imagine we both lost some letters somewhere along the way. Riley: Down to business...I saw in the report Ensign Finnegan does not have his security codes yet. Lieutenant, if you take care of that after this meeting with Mister Page. W'tine: Aye Sir, I will do the needful. ::Finnegan nodded his appreciation.:: ::Sidney looked up to see Commander Clack. Her green eyes sparkled as she looked at the Klingon man.:: Riley: Commander. ::She nodded.:: Clack: Captain. ::nodding to the others:: What is the situation? ::in a low disturbing voice:: Riley: Well, from the reports I've been given it appears Mister Page transported from the surface to a ship in orbit, deserting his duty post and failing to check in with his superior. ::She looked over towards Clack.:: Clack: I am aware of the minor points. Riley: The ship appears to be unauthorized and they have not been able to provide adequate documentation for the vessel. At least not yet. W'tine: Their own vessel? Clack: Not yet? ::looking at W'tine:: Perhaps it is a surveyor ship or some prospector with an invalid license? W'tine: Maybe Sir, I will have to talk to its crew without delay. Finnegan: Doesn't that all seem a bit coincidental? The Romulans rioted, the Reapers showed up, took senior officers prisoner, and boarded the ship, and an Ensign somehow fell in with smugglers or surveyors or unlicensed prospectors and they liked him so much they beamed him aboard, knowing the attention that could draw their way from Starfleet? Riley: ::She took in a deep breath.:: There's also the situation on the planet. It appears Mister Page is directly responsible for at least 10 civilian deaths. ::Sidney's face held a sense of sadness at the mention of the Romulans.:: From witness reports he set his phaser to explode, at least 8 of those people were unarmed. ::Finnegan grimaced and sucked air through his front teeth.:: oO That's a horse of a different colour. Oo Wtine: Sounds very serious Sir. Who are with him? Clack: I make it known that I protect those who serve under me. ::break:: What does Mister Page have to say about the situation? ::Sidney's eyes narrowed. She focused her gaze directly on Clack's eyes.:: Riley: As do I Mister Clack. You and I are just about to get Mister Page's side of the story. Lieutenant W'tine and Ensign Finnegan are going to question the others and get the documentation for that ship. W'tine: Aye Sir. You ready for some detective work Ensign? Finnegan: Sounds good to me, sir. W’tine: Good. Clack: How strong are the witness' against him? I've read Petty Officer Lightfoot's report. At no time did she visually see these civilian deaths. Riley: There are two officers who saw the exchange. Both have written reports and had a clear view of the situation from where they were working. I have no reason not to trust their judgement at this time. It is extremely clear from their reports that Mister Page set his phaser to explode without regard for civilian lives. Finnegan: ::half to himself, frowning:: If that's true, dereliction of duty and desertion are the least of the charges he's facing. W'tine: If it was a riot situation, he may not have had much choice? Clack: RESPONSE Riley: Lieutenant, Ensign if you would question the others at this time. Finnegan: Aye, sir. W'tine: Yes Sir, right away. ::Eyas and Finnegan left the two senior officers to discuss the situation further.:: Finnegan: ::as they walked away from Riley and Clack:: Do you know this Page well enough to have opinions you'd feel comfortable sharing, Lieutenant? This all seems really odd. W'tine: RESPONSE Finnegan: Hmm. ::They entered the brig, where a small Bardeezan female, a tall, attractive human female, a scruffy humanoid male, and a large Pythron waited.:: W’tine: ::Whispering to Finnegan:: I’ll interview the Pythron and the Bardeezan. You take the human lady and the scruffy man. Finnegan: Yes, sir. ::He examined the two for a moment before taking the last few steps toward them.:: oO These two really don't seem to belong in the same room. Oo Lucinda de Havilland: Hello Sweetie. Kalble: Name’s Kalble, from Byzatium, you got a problem sonny? Finnegan: ::Donall met Kalble's gaze, unflinching.:: I just have a few questions for you. de Havilland: You going to pump me for information honey? Aren’t I the lucky lady? Kalble: We’ve got nothing to hide, so why don’t you and your buddies just let us go? Finnegan: ::pointedly ignoring Kalble's tone:: What were you doing in this area? de Havilland: Just escorting a friend to this locale, and also wanted to see my friend Handley. No crime in that? Finnegan: Can you produce any authorization to be here? Access to this planet is currently restricted. de Havilland: Sure sweetie, but it’s on my ship. I hope you haven’t left it adrift. Just release me and I can go get for you…. Finnegan: ::monotonously:: Where is your ship registered? And why haven't you produced its documentation? de Havilland: Would have done if your Captain hadn’t abducted us from our own ship and imprisoned us here. I do so hate being so formal. You look such a sweet man, can’t you let me out? Pwitty Pleeeese….. Finnegan: ::coolly to de Havilland:: You can stop that now. It's getting you nowhere. Kalble: ::chuckling:: Yeah, you’ve lost your touch old girl. de Havilland: I’ll give you *old* girl! ::She stamped a heeled boot into Kalble’s foot.:: Finnegan: You might as well calm down. You're in Starfleet custody. So's your ship. If you're telling the truth, you'll be fine, and if not you're already captured. One way or the other, the outcome here is already decided. So provide proof of what you're saying, otherwise start telling the truth. What you've said 'til now is thin and you've given me no reason to believe a word of it. So, shall we start over? de Havilland: Ok sweetie, here’s the deal. The Solar Gorgon is my private vessel, I use it for social, domestic and commuting purposes. Me and my friends were en route to deliver that lady over there ::pointing to Namonih:: to meet up with her son who she hasn’t seen in months. She was working for Mr Klable here, but as an act of kindness he has given her leave to return to her family. We thought we’d kill two birds with one stone and meet up with my wonderful Handley, who was on a jolly trip to the planet below. We didn’t realize we needed clearance, we thought that this was all Federation space. I received a distress call from Handley, who was in a spot of bother down stairs. We beamed him back, had a little drink to steady his nerves, poor old dear, then next thing we know is we are all jailed in here. My ship is registered on Venoba Prime, it’s a private star yacht with all taxes and licences up to date. Our only misdemeanor seems to be entering restricted orbit. I am so very very sorry…… sweetie. Kalble: Yes, sounds pretty accurate Lucy. Ensign Donall Finnegan Tactical Officer USS Independence-A

  13. ((Brice Quarters, after leaving the bridge, Day of Conference/Mission Ending)) ::As the doors slid shut behind the Haliian, wave after wave of emotion washed over her. Everything she had been holding back for the last day, pushing down so she could do her job, bubbled to the surface. The Captain had been lost, even if only temporarily and for the first time Karynn had really been in charge, with no safety net.:: ::With every step, as she moved through their living area, her mind raced, retracing every decision she had made. While the Captain had been returned, she had been quite ill, almost to the point of death from the reports Karynn had received. Thankfully, their medical staff had been able to improve her condition and she was now stable. And it hadnt just been the Captain. Others had been severely injured or ill, either as a result of the plague or encounters with Romulan colonists, angry at the Federation, or as a result of the encounter with the creatures she now knew were called Reapers. And although her crew had survived, many Romulans had not.:: ::She sank into the sofa, feeling relieved but overwhelmed. It was over - at least as far as she could tell. The Independence was on its way back to the Starbase. But a sorrow overtook her. People had died. Others had come close. How much of that had been due to her decisions, to her actions. Diplomacy, the guiding principle for dealing with situations that she had so strongly clung to since graduation from the academy, had failed, and they had left the colony without completing their mission. What would the ultimate cost be?:: ::But had she really had a choice? They had been faced with animosity from the start, anger at the Federation despite their attempts to help. Resistance to their presence. From initial reports, it appeared that the situation had turned for the worse when she had withdrawn the senior staff, but situations like that didnt spring from a vacuum. The conditions had been right, and it wasnt as though those conditions had been hidden when she made her decisions. Not only had others suggested the issue at the initial briefing, she had experienced that hostility first hand. Had her decision to maintain the mission as long as possible been wrong? Had she been overly idealistic, hoping that her precious diplomacy would win the day?:: ::The last time she had been in charge on the bridge, just before Operation Bright Star, crew had died, and this time it had nearly happened again. A tear trickled down the womans cheek as her shoulders slumped forward. Worse, she had nearly lost the Captain, nearly had to tell a young girl that her mother was gone, for good. Another tear followed the first dripping into her hands. Far worse, their mission to the colony had failed. Romulans there were dying and she couldnt fix it. She had simply left them there - who knew how many would die before the worst in the colony was over?:: ::She looked at her own hands, half expecting to see their blood there. If there was one thing she hated most about command it was this: the responsibility for others lives. Ben had asked her once At what point should someone stop leading, if they are causing harm to those they lead? Was that what had happened? Twice now, she had been in command when diplomacy had failed, and as a result, members of her crew, members whom it was her job to return safely had either died or nearly died. Had she lead them wrong? Another tear splashed into her hands.:: Matthew: Kolla? :: A little sniffle of a runny nose sounded, followed by the yet more distinctive sound of said nose being wiped along a sleeve. The footsteps of the small boy were heard moving out of his bedroom and towards the sofa in the living area, the little boys face underneath the dark mop of hair looking through concerned eyes at his step-mother. As he saw her face and the tears, his bottom lip wobbled, but he had to be strong and firm in these situations, Dad had told him so. So, he sniffled again and reached out his hand to her shoulder.:: ::The Haliian turned toward his voice, another tear trickling down her cheek as he reached out to touch her. In her mind, the image of Belleau in the Ready Room played before her, a child who had, for a time, believed that she had lost her mother. She reached out, gently brushing the dampness off the young boys cheek, before pulling him onto her lap.:: Karynn: What is it Matthew? Whats wrong? :: He snuggled into her embrace and just let her hold him for a few moments. He was smart enough to know that she needed cuddling, just like she would cuddle him when he needed so. Inhaling and exhaling exaggeratedly. Gently, he ran his small fingers through her dark hair and smiled a week but supportive smile.:: Matthew: ::quietly:: What you crying for, Kolla? ::Another tear slid out of the womans green eyes as she pulled him close, burying her nose in his mop of hair, inhaling the comforting scent. For some reason, young childrens hair almost always smelled good. Another small tear splashed onto his head as she felt both his concern and his implicit trust in her. The trust that Belleau had in her mother, the trust that had almost been lost. Karynn had nearly waited too long. She closed her eyes. It was ironic that the young child was comforting her - she was the adult, the one who should be soothing him.:: Karynn: ::quietly:: Its nothing darling. :: His slight concerned smile at the corner of his mouth showed that he believed differently. The young boy slid his arms around her neck and snuggled closer to her, hugging as tight as he could. As he pulled away, he kissed her cheek and was content for the moment to sniffle and sit in her lap stroking her hair.:: Matthew: Snot nuffin though, is it? Is it beeeecause... ::he thought for a moment, finger on his lip:: ...youre the boss now? ::The perception of children never ceased to amaze the Haliian. Somehow they knew, they always knew. Belleau had known the moment she set foot on the bridge, the moment Karynn had sent her into the ready room. She pulled him back slightly to study him.:: Karynn: What makes you say that? :: The boys eyes flashed for a moment with a twinge of sadness as though hed said something he shouldnt have. He looked down at his hands, twisting together in his lap and his bottom lip wobbled again but he inhaled deeply, sucking it up, storing it in his strong shoulders and looked his mother in the green eye again.:: Matthew: Teacher said so when I... ::he sighed and his voice went quiet:: When I said I wanted to see you cause I was scared and she said I couldn't cause you were the boss and busy saving the ship and the peoples and all the other stuff that the boss has to do like drink tea and things.... :: His voice trailed off and he looked back down at his twisting hands.:: ::The Haliian couldnt help but laugh as she looked down at him, ruffling his hair with her hand. Was that her job as leader? To drink tea and things? Despite the internal sorrow she still felt, the young boys comments had lightened the mood. She nodded slightly.:: Karynn: Its because I was the boss for a while. Unfortunately bosses dont get to drink tea - at least not most of the time. They have to make decisions... and sometimes people can get hurt because of those decisions. Im sad because that happened. People got hurt because of decisions I made while I was the boss. :: His sideways smile occurred again, only this time it was twinned with a slightly confused and quizzical look. He didnt know whether or not to ask the question that was playing around the tip of his tongue, not because he was afraid of what she would say, but because he wasnt entirely sure if he wanted the answer.:: Matthew: When you were the boss... did you av to make a deecizion to hurt a little kid? Like me? ::The Haliian thought about the Romulan children on the planet, about Belleau. An intruder had gotten aboard her ship, and every child had been at risk, as had their parents.:: Karynn: Would you be hurt if your dad had been in danger? :: The child blinked. He wondered if she was being serious for a moment then sniffled again with his runny nose before shrugging his shoulders lightly and smiling.:: Matthew: Can I has your bedroom if he is? Its bigger dan mine. ::A quiet chuckle escaped. If there was one thing that amazed the Haliian more than the perceptiveness of children, it was the resilience that they had. She shook her head slightly, still smiling.:: Karynn: Hes not... this time. But other childrens parents were. ::she paused:: And its possible that one day a decision I make will put you or your dad in danger too. ::Whether or not the child realised the gravity of what his mother was telling him was another thing entirely. It was almost assured that the boy knew, he was after all not unobservant and the frequent trips to the safe zones on board with armed escort hadnt escaped his attention either. However, he wasnt without a sense of humour and even in his young age was still able to alleviate the situation somewhat with a cheeky grin.:: Matthew: Dont put Dad in danger next to no water. He floats like a brick. ::The Haliian leaned back against the couch, laughing silently again, a quiet sparkle returning to her eye. As much as she wanted to sit there, feeling sorry for herself, the boy was pulling her out of it, something she was very grateful for. He brought levity to the situation, a perspective that was perhaps only possible through a pre-schoolers eyes.:: Karynn: Ill try not to. ::she smiled:: Thanks for the tip. :: He smiled again, demurely and played with his thumbs in his lap. He reached up to her hair again as he looked back at her and giggled, to himself more than his mother but as he twirled her hair around his fingers, he felt a little more peaceful than before.:: Matthew: Feel better? ::Her own voice echoed in her head, advice she had given someone else. Commander... We live and work in a dangerous environment. Its the life we've chosen to live, and a risk we've chosen to take on. Your being in command has not, I repeat NOT put us at any more risk. Your ability to think quickly and give the tough orders have saved us on more than one occasion. What has happened isn't your fault. Not this time, not any time. She had encouraged that first officer, one who had become her close friend, to trust his instincts and not blame himself after the fact. Could she take her own advice? For him, knowing what to do in the moment had been easy, natural. Could she learn to trust that small voice inside her, the one that somehow knew what to do?:: ::On some level she knew she had to. This most likely would not be the last time that would be tested. Whether she liked it or not, she was finding herself moving up the ladder. Although the woman had no ambitions herself, she had found herself in this position, and could likely find herself in charge again in the future. The Haliian nodded, gently brushing the boys cheek with her hand.:: Karynn: I do. ::pause:: Thank you. :: He nuzzled his cheek into her hand and brushed his own fingertips down the length of her face, feeling the bumps on her forehead and then all the regular human features that were with them. Inwardly, the boy was very afraid of being left alone and in some small way, Karynn being the boss even for a short amount of time gave him a bit more comfort. He sniffled again, a bit too hard and sneezed loudly, shaking his head afterward with a slightly dazed look in his dark eyes.:: Matthew: Scuse me. ::he smiled a watery smile:: You feel better about bein the boss and drinkin tea? Karynn: ::laughing lightly:: Being the boss, yes. Im not sure Ill ever drink tea very often. I prefer coffee. :: He made a face.:: Matthew: Mud tastes better. :: He slid down off his step-mothers lap and back to the floor, onto his feet and found his toy box in the corner. Rummaging for a second, he walked back over and placed the model of the Independence-A in her lap. It was now pretty battered and one of the glass lenses for the port nacelle was missing.:: Matthew: Federation Man says the greatest oak tree was once a little nut, like me, who held its grownd. It grew bigger and stronger with loadsa leaves n made little nuts of its own. ::he shrugged:: Maybe da ship is your oak tree... like you and dad is mine. ::The Haliian smiled, quietly running her finger across the battered nacelle. The ship, the one that had, in truth, become her home, had been through a lot - and it had stood its ground despite the odds. She pulled him back onto her lap with a smile.:: Karynn: Perhaps youre right. ::laughing gently she spoke quietly:: Wise beyond your years, you are. :: He frowned and chuckled, lifting his hands up to the sides of his head.:: Matthew: Rice behind my ears? ::he rolled his eyes:: I grows potatoes in my ears! Not rice! ::The Haliian laughed, embracing him in a hug.:: Karynn: Ah, potatoes then. ::she paused:: So did you come out hoping for a story? :: He giggled again like hed been caught out sneaking cookies into his bedroom. He pondered the question for a moment and replied with a questioning look on his young face.:: Matthew: Where did you grow up? On a ship like me? ::The Haliian shook her head, her dark curls bouncing gently.:: Karynn: No, little one. I grew up on a planet, one far, far away right now, called Halii... ::Pulling the child close, she quietly described life on her home planet. Perhaps it wasnt too different than the life he knew on Earth when he was there with his Mother. Perhaps Humans and Haliians werent all that different...:: The End Lt. Cmdr. Karynn Brice First Officer USS Independence-A and Matthew Brice as SIMmed by Lt. Cmdr. Ethan Brice R&D Engineering Officer USS Independence-A

  19. ((Bilire IV - Around 10:00AM)) ::Arrhae watched as things were beginning to get out of hand and frowned. But the aggressive actions of the Romulan populace was not her utmost concern. What was was the fact that the Federation personnel were somehow not being affect as much as her Romulan counterparts were. Arrhae couldn't understand the logic and wished she had a tricorder. Something had to be at play here. Test after test revealed that the disease would be devastating to anyone who had come into contact with it, but that did not appear to be the case with the Federation personnel. For them, it appeared the worst case scenario they had thus far suffered was mild flu-like symptoms.:: ::Arrhae's eyes shifted to that of the hospital in the distance. The shouting by the mob could be heard from quite a distance. Mob rule was not the Romulan way, and her frown grew deeper. But then she reminded herself, that these people were not the typical Romulan.:: ::Arrhae began heading to the hospital, where the growing mob became an impossible barrier to enter thorough. She needed a scanning devise and she knew the Federation had brought a few of those with them. But how could she enter the hospital? Arrhae was not in any kind of mood to speak to these Romulan delinquents. She had a higher calling. It was no wonder, the Romulan government sent these people to this colony. Their lack of understanding and insight was terrifying. If the Romulan Empire were to begin anew, it were Romulans like these on this colony who would be best to be rid of, and she further understood the logic of her government, or whatever was left of it. Arrhae no longer saw these colonists as fellow Romulans to aid, but more of a means to an end. A way to get back to the Federation what they had done to her people, by standing by and allowing Romulus' destruction, and on a smaller scale, allowing Arrhae to lose everything she held dear. Her family and life. No, she thought, as the mob began to strengthen, these Romulans were very much dispensible.:: ::But as Arrhae slowly drew closer to the hospital and mob scene, a voice called out for her.:: Chavek: Arrhae! ::Arrhae turned to face the carpenter and noticed he was holding something as he approached.:: Chavek: Arrhae. I'm happy to see you. I think I know what this disease is... ::But Chavek was interrupted when the sounds of the mob became different. It was as if the mob was now on the interior of the hospital. Arrhae did a quick visual assessment of those outside of the hospital, but the numbers of those on the outside remained the same. The sounds of fighting appeared to be from those on the inside of the hospital. When one of the doors opened to reveal a previously ill Romulan, Arrhae turned sharply to Chavek.:: Arrhae: What are you saying? Chavek: I've seen this disease before, Arrhae. In fact, I'm a carrier. Or at least, I think I am. Arrhae: Thats impossible. If you were to have this disease... Chavek: No Arrhae. I was a military test subject on Annhwi III. I am certain. I suffered the same ill effects as those in the hospital. I was eventually given this, ::showing his drug apparatus:: and my symptoms disappeared. However, the effects of this drug are highly addictive. ::Arrhae stood for a moment and stared at Chavek, then at his drug apparatus, then back to Chavek.:: Arrhae: How long ago? Chavek: Three, four years. ::Arrhae said nothing for a moment. Arrhae herself worked at the military labs on Annhwi III, a Romulan world on the far reaches of the Empire, and its experiments were highly sensitive and were considered secret. Yes there were rumors, but that was all they were. It was there where the disease was discovered, and eventually a cure was found. If Chavek had the cure, and the mist from his apparatus was blowing into the atmosphere, then this whole mission was in jeopardy.:: Arrhae: What is it ::pointing at the apparatus::. Chavek: ::leaning closer:: Its yek'hhw and maec seeds. ::Arrhae began to anger. Maec seeds were not rare, but yek'hhw was, and could only be found on Annhwi III. How did this carpenter get a hold of this is what she thought as she realized the man was indeed telling the truth. But he wasn't responsible for getting the colonists sick. He was responsible for curing them, and if not for the crowds surrounding her, she would kill the carpenter where he stood, as she traced the outline of the handle of her knife at her waist.:: Chavek: I noticed what they were suffering last night when I entered the hospital out of curiosity. To help ease their pain, I gave the patients a few doses of my drug in order to help them. No one noticed me. You being a Doctor, I figured I'd tell you first. Arrhae: You fool. You've turned them into addicts! ::pointing to the mob:: That's what they want. They want more drugs. ::Chavek held the cure, but a very unrefined version of it. The one that Arrhae had was a much more refined mixture of the two compounds with no dependency side effects. She also lied about what the mob wanted, for in fact she had no idea what it was they wanted. But she needed an excuse to get rid of it. And quickly. With Chavek's mist running through the atmosphere of this compound, that would explain the illness not functioning normally. The compounds of the cure were probably everywhere now, and without a tricorder, could not take proper readings.:: Arrhae: ::pumping her fists in anger:: Fvadt, fvadt, fvadt! ::Arrhae then grabbed the apparatus from Chavek and threw it away.:: Chavek: NO!!! ::Then Chavek collapsed and Arrhae could see the knife wound in the man's back. Arrhae looked up and into the face of an Orion trader's eyes.:: Herad: You failed the Empire Arrhae. Arrhae: ::without flinching a muscle:: I was set up to fail. ::The Orion said nothing for a moment, then spoke:: Herad: Look around you. This whole colony was set up to fail. ::Looking around and handing the Romulan something hidden.:: The Romulan Empire is proud of your service. however, your capture could lead to our discovery. You and I are the only ones left with any knowledge of what exactly happened here. And you must remain. At least, that is of your body. But I am leaving it upon you to take it upon yourself to do what is our way for the Empire. I know you will do the task. Your service to the Empire is duely noted. Arrhae: My service to the Empire is what I live and die for. ::Herad nodded slightly before turning to the large crowd gathered in front of the hospital. He then turned back to Arrhea as she appeared to swallow something. Harad then returned to his regular, smiling persona of a lively, smiling, Orion trader and transported away.:: ::Arrhea headed to her tent, sat on her cot, and pulled the Felodesine chip the Orion had just given to her to ingest. But Arrhea had other plans, and hers was just beginning, as she sat and coyly smiled while looking at the chip in her hand. The Federation shall pay, she thought to herself, ad she will be alive to see that it is done. But she had to go into hiding, and she knew the best place to do that was the Federation itself. It was time to take a leadership role and welcome the Federation. All she had to do was change the opinions of those who want the Federation to leave. She bit her bottom lip as she figured how this could be accomplished. But she had to be careful. If the Empire knew she was still alive, an assassin would be sent.
