Lhandon_Nilsen Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Typically both @Kimonzi Lahl Would you agree @Arturo Maxwell? Quote Looking at the life signs, it appeared the the Marines were either much better at their jobs than the team currently on the shuttle, or they were just luckier. 2 2 Quote

Lhandon_Nilsen Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 Quote Nis: Time siege? Avander was starting to wonder if the officers of this era just put “time” or “temporal” in front of everything to make it sound cooler. Yes. They do...and it works, "time siege" sounds so cool. @Avander Promontory @Jania Nis 3 Quote

Popular Post Josh Herrick Posted December 10, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 10, 2024 Loving this gem commentary from our CO @Tony, aka Rouiancet. Quote That got a smile out of Lia, both because she knew that Lhandon certainly had a knack for turning up when you least expected him -- and Ensign Caras, Morro, was something of a looker. Not that Lia looked, exactly, as his commanding officer. But, well, one was aware. 1 1 4 Quote
Popular Post Josh Herrick Posted December 11, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 11, 2024 @Jania Nis helping me pass my Klingon biology like: Quote Nis: Yeah, it’s tough to remember in all the different species. There’s a mnemonic for it, though: “Really late teachers cause disruptions, really late teachers.” So the rajma’, luH, and/or tagh take toxins to the chej, which processes and expels them through the DIr, rajma’, luH and/or tagh. 3 2 Quote
Morro Caras Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 This excerpt from @Lhandon_Nilsen's post really hit me. Quote All Lhandon could do was agree with Morro's assessment, and he nodded as he saw further unshed tears to come. The pain in Morro's eyes was as if they were screaming out for justice. A storm was brewing for Morro—one that needed answers, accountability, and some kind of resolution that, if Morro wasn't careful, might end up consuming him. I'm not sure what hits the hardest. The part about the unshed tears? Because there are so many more to come for Morro. Or the part about justice, something he'll probably never get for an action that essentially took away his free will. I've had the "Z'Mat abusing Morro" element in the can for awhile and I thank @Lhandon_Nilsen for really working with me to explore it, and bring it to life with a character that knows a thing or two about rage. It's been perfect. 4 Quote

Jania Nis Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Quote He walked her through each step of the dance in his mind. Like poetry. Using the body as a tool instead of a pen. Using the movements of the body instead of the words. Much like scratches on notebook paper. The movements ended up being more than the strokes on the page. The dance was about being in a place with friends, cheer, and good will. A gathering of sorts. Caras memories seemed to associate it with family, a tribe, or a clan. A common purpose and general well being. By letting her know the dance, he was letting her into his inner circle. He thought about the movements and explained their meeting and feelings without words. Like learning another language like sign language, but also structure like poetry. The @Morro Caras Savantha Saa JPs coming out have been an absolute highlight of this shore leave even if they're backsims. I could've picked out ten or twenty favorite lines, but this was definitely a highlight. I hope y'all are saving these! 4 Quote
Jania Nis Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Quote Greaves: Seems like my reputation precedes me. I’m glad it’s a positive one. I’ve got two rules of leadership I try and follow: one, be good, and two, be a good guy. Sh’shelor: Response Greaves: It’s a lot deeper than that. The first part means to be competent in everything you do. Technical tasks, tactical understanding, leadership; if you’re not competent, you need to fix that. The second part is about empathy. Never lose sight that we’re a people-first organization. There will be plenty of times when the mission comes first. Whenever we can carve out a time to put people first, that’s a win. Love this, such a great description of Starfleet at its best 1 Quote

Avander Promontory Posted Saturday at 06:28 PM Posted Saturday at 06:28 PM Quote Caras: Are those two things mutually exclusive? It’s hard to tell by your quarters that you’re a counselor, but now that you mention it, it does make perfect sense. Salo: There’s more to me than that. Just like there’s more to you than a pirate past and engineering. Caras wasn’t too sure that there was much more to himself than that. In his life he really tried to keep things simple. Being a good engineer and being a good Starfleet officer were really two of the things that he devoted most of his time to. @Morro Caras showing us that we shouldn't assume depth of character! 1 2 Quote
