She could sense the awkwardness he was going through to say that to her. He had a smile on his face, not a smirk nor a mischievous grin either, but one that spoke to her of satisfaction, or perhaps pride. Unconsciously, her own lips turned into a smile as well, while a blush was rising to her cheeks.

Jovenan: You don’t have to call me that, Vitor. And… thank you. It means a lot to me.

Managing to hold her tongue, she realised she had almost said “you mean a lot to me”. It wouldn’t have been wrong, but she knew it would not have been right either. At the same time, she had almost blurted it out and couldn’t bring herself to say it.

Silveira: I… I don't know what to say… Perhaps… Maybe I better… I have to congratulate Sada as well…

Jovenan: Vitor, wait!

She surprised even herself by saying that. Her heart was racing again, and her brain was foggy as it struggled to find something clever to say instead of just fleeing the scene.

Silveira: Response

Jovenan: I, uh, I’m sorry. For what happened between us. I didn’t… You, um… I mean, I don’t want this to continue like this. I just… I care about you, and I don’t want to keep avoiding you. I want to be your friend again.
