Zephyr
Quote Rosek: I would have been just fine without the action, thanks. There were a few times where I was convinced the deck and I were about to become very closely acquainted. ::looks up:: Do you have any idea how hard it is to walk straight when the pilot is executing a variation on the Delta Epsilon flight pattern? I feel called out here... 1 Quote Link to comment
Mei'konda
Quote Raga: =/\= Bridge to Security. Intruder alert. Repeat. Intruder alert. Deck Ten Starboard Observation Lounge. Hull breach. A Valcarian assault shuttle has struck the ship. Prepare to repel boarders. =/\= That wasn’t a good sign. If they’d made it into the ship, that meant there were a few different possibilities for them to hit. Peters: oO They could’ve just **asked** for a cup of coffee...oh no. Sickbay’s on deck 10. Oo He didn’t know why he immediately thought of the coffee first and sickbay second, but this wasn’t the time to dwell on that. He once again clutched at the controls and attempted to make their way back into formation, with their starboard side as far away from the onslaught as possible. He only hoped engineering was able to restore power to the shields. Courtesy of Lieutenant Commander Cadfael Peters. Edited October 14, 2021 by Mei'konda Formatting! 4 Quote Link to comment

Elizabeth Snow
Quote Rai: Still looking good. :: to McKnight :: Just don’t land us in a tree. McKnight: I'll look for a field to make some crop circles if you want to. Serala: I doubt there are any trees here. No atmosphere for them to breathe. But if you find any, let Lieutenant Levinson know. She no doubt has people that would be interested in such a phenomenon. Levinson / Raga: Responses And it was at that time that the proximity alarm decided to sound off it’s opinion about the possibility of trees being on the moon. Rai: What’s that about? McKnight: Turbulence. It's messing with the autopilot. Snow: Can you switch to manual control? Serala: Working on that now, Doctor. :: punching some buttons on her console. To McKnight :: Cross-circuiting to B. Levinson / Raga: Responses There were several sharp turns before they managed to get the shuttle back under control and the flight smoothed out once more. Serala: Okay, so we got that excitement out of the way. The rest should be fine now. McKnight: Unless I managed to find the one tree. Thanks for the Laugh, McKnight 😂 Edited October 26, 2021 by Elizabeth Snow 3 Quote Link to comment

Myself included. Raga: Responses And it was at that time that the proximity alarm decided to sound off it’s opinion about the possibility of trees being on the moon. Rai: What’s that about? Nothing really interesting or new came up. Not even a tree. Levinson: Well, I do not see that tree. Everything looks okay to me. oO Or maybe the tree is there, and we being unable to see it is all just a treeck! Oo She shook her head slightly at her own terrible joke, and moved on to her readings. Okay, this whole tree thing just got very funny. Kudos to @Amuro McKnight and @Noa T'Nessa Levinson for that. 😂 1 2 Quote Link to comment
Alora DeVeau
Quote From the Narrative of Sal Taybrim: He started mentally taking bets on whether their long range shuttle would be filled with plushies on the ride home or whether Alora would simply hide a few in Sal’s luggage so they tumbled out at inopportune moments. Both were equally likely. Both are going to happen. 4 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Mei'konda
Cameron does a great job of showing the emotions that our closed in, introverted Betazoid Chief Engineer experiences on a daily basis: Quote They all grabbed their personal gear and made their way onto the shuttle. Etas took a seat near the aft. Statistically, that spot was one of the safest locations on this style of shuttles. The engineer wasn’t nervous, but he saw nothing wrong with optimizing his safety. While waiting, he adjusted his suit to activate its high gravity systems. While they did little to address the actual gravity, the suits could increase rigidity of the outer shell and a padded lining on the inside would make pressure sores and stress fractures less likely. Soon, the shuttle was underway and Etas felt only the slightest surge of increased anxiety as the blackness of space briefly surrounded them. The planet they soon began to fly towards did not look much more inviting, but there was at least solid ground that way. Etas whispered a soft prayer to the four deities, although he’d never been a strong believer. 5 Quote Link to comment
Serala
I'm not really much of a poetry person, sad to say, but this was just excellently done by @Toryn Raga Quote They ascended higher, moving through the Mesosphere towards the Thermosphere and he looked up. It was the most beautiful sight, seeing the Chin’toka, the Akira class descending ahead of them into the clouds. With the colors of the aurora and the thermal distortions from the ship breaching the atmosphere she looked like a phoenix descending in front of them. He couldn’t help but take a moment to just admire the once in a lifetime view. Raga: Like a phoenix, with wings a blaze in crimson and amber. The great bird descends into an aurora filled sky of turbulence, above a world unknown. Risking it all to rescue one of her clutch amidst fire and air streams aflame. ::He murmured:: Moved poetically, Al-Leyan felt a surge of confidence. They could do this. He could do this. They were going to get back to the ship safely and then find their friends. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lael Rosek-Skyfire
Just had to throw in this gold nugget that @Jaelyne Isa pointed out. XD Priceless, @Noa T'Nessa Levinson. ---- Noa clasped her hands together, elbows on the table, as her head tilted slightly to the right, as she spoke in a perfectly monotone manner. Levinson: I can think of many reasons, Lieutenant. The planet’s inhabitants may be wondering what they were doing on their planet. Or perhaps they require their bodies, or minds, for some sort of activity. And maybe, just maybe, they wanted to invite our team for dinner and were merely afraid they would say no. Some specimens are curious in nature, after all. Edited March 4, 2022 by Lael Rosek 1 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Mei'konda
A quote from the Chin'toka's newest officer, Ensign Wyatt Ral! Poor guy's a little nervous on his first day on the Bridge. Quote Ral: Thank you. My name's Wyatt. I’m glad to be helping out. I’ve spent most of my time finding my feet and being assigned smaller jobs. We seem to have had a few unexpected isolinear chip failures, especially for such a new ship, but I’ll need to look into that later. Only seems to have been since we arrived in orbit at the planet. oO Stop talking Wyatt you’re rambling Oo Ral: So, what do you need me to do? 2 1 2 Quote Link to comment
Lael Rosek-Skyfire
This truly encapsulates both laugh and cry. Such a bittersweet moment for Toryn! And the last bit makes me laugh XD ---- Solat: ~ I can remove the memories from your mind, in apology. ~ Toryn looked up at the entity and after a brief contemplation raised a hand to stop the entity. Raga: No! Leave them please! Kiax: You sure, Toryn? The entity seemed to be confused and the glow ceased. Though it had already removed several of the memories from his mind. Solat: ~ Why? Why would you wish to keep the memories? The punishment was placed upon you in error. ~ Raga: ::Slowly rising to his feet again he composed himself:: You said these are memories of those who are dead? The entity nodded sagely. Raga: Then that means that as long as I live, they live on through me. I’d like to keep them…to honor them. Isa: It is, of course, your decision, Commander. But I highly advise against it. Still, if you insist, then I am going to insist on mandatory counseling to help you with processing it. Mandatory counseling sessions? Bold of her to assume Chin’tokans needed that. Paying no mind to the fact that it was easier to earn a purple heart than to keep a counselor on board. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Mei'konda
I adored this one for multiple reasons! First, because of Rynna's (Played by Commander @Jaelyne Isa!) attraction to @Noa T'Nessa Levinson, and second, because of @Valin Dermont being called elderly. Nicely done. Quote Rynna had developed a huge attraction to the Vulcan woman as soon as she had first seen her, but since Lieutenant Levinson was her direct superior, she had never considered trying to pursue that. Until that one night. That one, glorious night, when Noa - erm, Lieutenant Levinson - had needed her. She hadn’t spoken to her since, which saddened Rynna greatly. But she did understand. Noa was a Vulcan. Well, part Vulcan anyway. She likely wasn’t seeking the kind of relationship Rynna would have preferred. And then there was the fact that she was Rynna’s boss. Also seated at the table was an elderly human man, whom Rynna had learned was an engineer who had served with Commander Raga on the Atlantis. She wasn’t sure where he had been, but scuttlebutt had it that he was coming to the Chin’toka. 1 1 4 Quote Link to comment
Lael Rosek-Skyfire
Quote Oh look, the Al-Leyan was waxing philosophical. Read as much poetry as Toryn did and someone would likely sound the same. Ha! 🤣 2 Quote Link to comment
Noa T'Nessa Levinson
Quote It had been a long road, Solok mused somewhat poetically, getting from there to here. It's been a surprisingly long time since I've read this kind of reference, but its time is finally near. 3 1 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Elizabeth Snow
Okay. I had to laugh at this one. It was a great set up by @Mei'konda and @Wyatt Ral makes a very great and true comment 😂Thanks for the laugh! Quote ((Science Lab 2, Deck 10, USS Chin’toka)) There was a lul in the conversation until MacNemar spoke up. MacNemar: …Maybe they’re a race of hug-obsessed Aliens. Y’know. They’ll meet us, and all they’ll want to do is be super sweet? Noa turned towards MacNemar before speaking. Levinson: That would certainly be nice. ::She paused, keeping a perfectly blank expression:: Logically so, that is. Wyatt turned to look at Noa and smiled, it wasn’t something he’d expected to hear from a Vulcan. Snow: That would be better than the alternative. Ral: That all depends on how tight that hug gets doctor ::grinning:: Any: Responses Toryn moved the conversation back to the business in hand after MacNemars lightening of the mood in the room. 6 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Serala
Oh, this nearly brought tears to my eyes! 🤣 Quote Truth be told, Amuro was always ready to shoot something but he REALLY didn't want the padd work that follows a shootout. Popular Post Serala
Our Captain flexing his claws... Loved it! Quote Mei’konda: =/\= This is the Federation starship Chin’toka to all Al-Leyan vessels. Your unexpected weapons fiire into the Langosta nebula nearly caused daamage to our vessel. And consiidering that we were told that the ships inside the nebula belong to the Al-Leyan Council, we would not wish for them to be damaged eiither. We assume you are conduucting weapons tests due to the propertiies of this unique area of space. =/\= He paused for a moment, allowing a slight smile to cross his face. Mei’konda: =/\= If you wiish, we would be more than happy to broadcast our navigational sensor readiings to the vessels insiide the nebula so that they can better avoiid any accidents regaarding your weapons fiire. Chin’toka out. =/\= Mei glanced back toward his Bridge officers. Mei’konda: Well. That should get someone’s attentiion. and in a follow up sim to the same situation... Quote Mei’konda: I’m glad you’re all goiing to be all right, in either case. What can you tell me about what happened out there? Make it fast, if you could. I… may have deliberately tried to provoke a response from the Al-Leyans before I came down here to debrief you all. 2 1 2 Quote Link to comment
Toryn Raga
Quote Rosek-Skyfire: ::smirks:: Looks like teacher wants you to stay after class. Not everyday you experience a three-way telepathic connection with two T4s. Yeah. It was a good idea to make sure that the neural noodle that was the brain was still noodling properly. oO Noodling? What…? Oo She mentally paused to think briefly. oO …Yeah, I think I’m a little hungry. Oo @Noa T'Nessa Levinson showing us the struggle of every officer. The above for context and this from later in the sim. Showcasing the wonderful cultural misunderstandings between species and also, just how hungry we all get while on shift. Quote Avae: And just where do you think you’re going, Commander? ::She smiled:: We haven’t finished our scan comparison to see if that telepathic contact scrambled your noodle. Raga: ::His brow raised slightly:: I don’t have a noodle. Last thing I ate was L’ata stew. It doesn’t have noodles. oO Dammit, stop making food metaphors! Oo Noa made a brief struggle to not appear annoyed. While for the most part she managed to hide her emotions, she did place her hand on her belly, another reminder that she was a bit hungry. Serala
I'm always impressed with @Noa T'Nessa Levinson's ability to write Treknobabble, and to make it sound totally reasonable and logical. Here are a couple of great examples: Quote Levinson: Well, we have a supposed Al-Leyan-like sensor ghost with an energy buildup at the same position. ::Thinking a bit:: Perhaps you could perform a Fourier transform on my readings of the energy buildup, to produce a spectrogram. That could be checked against known Al-Leyan and Klingon system patterns - that way we could narrow down what exactly is being charged out there. Quote Levinson: The energy buildup has stopped, with the energy signature maintaining a constant pattern as of now. Sensor logs indicate the buildup time was approximately 38.43 seconds. Sending sensor telemetry and logs now. 3 1 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Serala
OMG!! @Noa T'Nessa Levinson totally Raga'd a tricorder!! Quote As the transfer reached 63.2%, Noa felt that crushing calmness again, only it was much stronger. There was no pain. Suddenly, it was all okay. There was no need for that data to be examined. There was no need for that data to even exist. And of course, with how memory worked, merely deleting the logs from the tricorder wasn’t going to be enough, data was recoverable. She knew exactly what she had to do with that newfound calm. Taking the tricorder once again, she rotated it to hold it sideways - with each end nested in the respective inner part of her knuckles and her fingertips firmly at the center of the back, and started bending. And bending. And bending. Until came such a point where the small monitor and the circuitry were overstressed, and broke with a crack. Then it was bent the other way, causing some more noises from the broken parts, and the other way, until the backplate of the tricorder was thin enough to just tear in two. Now that she was truly calm, she separated the two halves of the now-useless tricorder, holding one in each hand. Having never seen a broken tricorder before, especially not with her bare hands, she did want to know what it looked like. After all, they were safe, so there was no reason not to check such a thing out. Looking at her hands, she saw what she expected of an inactive half-tricorder - the multi-gray case, the black monitor with the shiny red-coppery drops spreading slowly, grasped firmly in her palm… Wait, no. That wasn’t right. Tricorders didn’t have these on the monitors. Why would they? It’d disrupt the rendering. Scratch that. Why did she suddenly feel like there was something in her skin there? And why did these drops look like her blood? There was no blood in peace. That wasn’t right. Slowly removing the tricorder halves from her palms, she placed them on the side of her console and looked up at the Captain and Commander Isa, trying to ignore the feeling of her hands. Her face was just barely hiding the utter shock that she felt. Levinson: I…do not believe that was me doing that. 3 1 2 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Zephyr
I am loving these two Bynar characters. @Mason G is amazing and I got a chuckle out of the latest sim "Coffee Break" Quote 000 wasn’t thrilled by the idea of being on a ship that someone else was actively trying to blow up again. Determined to change the course of their train of thought, they picked up the coffee they’d ordered and took a sip. It didn’t have anything in it— just coffee. Immediately, 000’s expression scrunched up and they drew away from the cup— 101’s face did something similar, even though they weren’t the one to drink it. 000: Oh, god. 101: What is that? 000: I-I don’t know, it’s just coffee. 101: Let me try. ::101 took the cup of black coffee and sipped at it.:: Oh god. The two exchanged a knowing look and simultaneously decided that they hated black coffee. Rosek-Skyfire: Response 000: We’ve never, 101: had coffee before. 000: ::to 101, in Bynar,:: Can I try yours? 101: ::in Bynar,:: Sure. 101’s coffee had a lot of different things in it, though they weren’t sure what— it was a light brown color with swirls of white. 101 passed it to 000, who took a small sip. They processed it for a moment, then took another. 101: …Is it good? 000: Yes. Without being asked, 000 passed the second coffee to 101, who also tried it— they smiled warmly and nodded in agreement.
