Anton’s mind reading magic powers were slim in comparison to Reids. He hoped she would be able to gain something that Anton could not. Something other than the overwhelming feeling of hunger. 

 

Richards: And tell him that I say hi!

Phaser rifle in one hand, communicator in the other, he'd shared foxholes and charged bunkers with his Marines. Leading from the bridge of a starship however, was a special hell. It was a slower fight. One in which you saw your doom or your victory coming minutes before it arrived. It was a fight where the leaders played chess, and the officers manning the stations moved the pieces. It was a fight, Wes decided, that he'd happily trade for a phaser and a trenchline.

I really liked this narration here.  Gave me a good sense of the character and what he's feeling.

The office was upside down... and pink. Very, very pink. And was that a flamingo? 

Hanging from the ceiling was every piece of furniture in the room. The desk itself was decorated in neon frills of some kind of pink fabric, and sitting in the chair was a lone plastic bird with black eyes. Eyes that peered into his soul.

When I first read that I was laughing and my laugh asked what was so funny. I read the line to her and she smirked and said "Aliens, yes I get it....Scifi nerds." I was sitting there with my jaw on the floor that she new the refence.
