    Yeah I also have to agree. Three mini series within one season ain't the best way to return Star Trek to tv. I'm also not sure about using the Enterprise -E (or later). At least with another ship or space station there isn't a need to up the ante.

    That is tough. I believe it comes down to strategy used and how the conflict starts. Star Fleet vessels are ill equipped to deal with ballistic weaponry so shields would be useless. Likewise a phaser strike and a couple of photon torpedoes could cause major damage to the Galactica. I would bet on the Soverign class though. Through a combination of mobility and range they should last it out against any fighter sent they way. Throw in some creative transporter usage (lets say a large bomb beamed right inside the galactica) and they have a win.

    Maybe even add a section outlining appropriate behaviour while on duty. On the lines of decision making cannot be swayed by attachment to ones spouse etc etc. Although it would appear to be common sense, its logical to include it.

    Yes you make a couple of good points Saveron. These regulations do seem very human-centric. I would imagine that at the time this was written humans made the bulk of Star Fleet officers etc. If we were to update it, I would think that medical concerns (more specifically regarding genetic deficiencies) would be less of a concern based on current medical technology.

    I love the idea of this one. While it is even more darker then what DS9 was it definitely has potential. The idea of potentially re-founding the Federation is quite exciting especially after it is introduced as this tyrannical empire.

    I was actually thinking that there is a line between "assimilation" like the Borg and Conquering like any warring faction anyway. Technology developed or stolen as commonly as happened by one faction to another is not really assimilation. To me anyway.

    I think it is possible to draw comparisons between the Borg and Earth history of that time period. Although my knowledge of the USSR is limited, I would think that the motivations of the USSR and the Borg are vastly different. To me the USSR seem intolerant of other nations to the extent of engaging in war with them. The Borg however are more accepting of other cultures and their technologies as it further enhances the Borg collective "toward a state of perfection" as one Borg queen stated. Having said that they don't have a problem with annihilating whole worlds that are seen as threats. Ultimately though there are too many Star Trek episodes and movies that seem to have our history scattered through them. Perhaps it was a way for the writers to express political and moral opinions in a fashion that would be accepted by the public.

    Its not that I don't want to play a Star Trek game. The fact is I to believe that Trek is more than just a simple shooter, it always have been(well at least from TNG onward. I can't say much for the original). Although I am not sure this wii/kinect360 adventure game would sell these days.

    I might be stereotyping just a little but it is an interesting concept. The writer is indeed human but from what I can tell it is coming from a male. It will be interesting to see what happens to the character.

    Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. I did get your email. I found it very interesting, especially having a cadet attempt suicide, as I recall as the ending of the sim. Heres one you may find "interesting", there is a Klingon Counselor in my group. I am not sure what to make of that.

    Hey, I have just started my academy class. We are on the Durosa mission. The one where the group is beamed down to a planet to investigate a partial distress signal. I am the engineer which I am thrilled about. I send you updates as things progress.
