  1. I went with Ransom. His actions were completely inexcusable -- even with the position he was in. The Nova's a good ship, and the compact crew should have meant that they wouldn't need too many resources to shuttle along. He shouldn't have killed those poor wraiths!
  2. Picard, by far. Brains beats Brawn any day
  3. Jan./Feb. '04 Winner: Akino Janaar's story "Love Under Fire," was the previous winner for this challenge. The judges, (Idril Mar and Frink), felt that the Janaar's story had good plot, characters, and moved briskly forward in time. The characters were believable and "touched them the first time they read it." The situation was cannon, "not to mention a good example of what could happen during that dark hour." They also mused that "it is just like a guy to pick a moment when a girl can't run away to profess his love." The judges also felt that the "story felt like a part of a larger narrative. Like this was a short story from a collection of related stories." Congratulations Akino You're find your signature badge in your PM box ASAP Here's Akino's entry:

Write something you would never try before. Use images you wouldn't consider in SIM. Wow us Length: No more than 3000 words accepted. Beginning Date: Sunday, July 4th. Ending Date: Saturday, September 4th.
  5. Could be, if folks are still interested
  6. Good analogy. That's definitely the feeling I get.
  7. Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. The most notable of these you would know of would probably be "Sims Online," or "Ultima Online." I too would be skeptical of a Trek MMORPG. I think it would be neat, yes -- but I fear that it would not be what any of us would enjoy. I might be wrong though. ::Shrugs:: I do know that I tried Uru, which is another part of the Myst series, and I didn't like it at all. They released it before they were ready, and the online version is absolutely terrible. The offline, single-player version is okay though. I guess it's hit-or-miss with these type of things.
  8. I haven't seen the revamped version, but I know from an article in Star Trek: Magazine, that they said much of the same as you T'Lara -- it was a very bad situation while it was being filmed, and the new version is much better.
  9. I was wondering how many people play the Star Trek video games? I only have one -- Starship Creator -- which I thought was pretty bad. Who has other games? Are they any good?
  10. I think you mean www.ditl.org, Hebron.
  11. Head to Startrek.com -- they have synopsi of every episode
  12. Yeah, I am a little dissapointed by how expensive they are as well. I feel like they're really trying to squeeze as much money out of them as they can -- which seems unnecessary. When you consider that they have all of TOS on DVD, all of TNG currently on DVD, and plan to have all of DS9, VOY, and probably ENT on DVD, it seems like it would be better to lower the price and have people buy more, than have a high price and have people buy less. It'll cost someone $3,000+ to buy all TOS, TNG, DS9, and VOY! Excessive, really! Especially when you consider that most shows sell their DVD seasons at around $50.
  13. I don't know about you Idril, but around here UPN has stopped showing DS9 I would suggest if you have the money, you'd buy the DVDs... No commercials, ready when you need them!
  14. No reason we can't do that in the future This is just the choices to start with for the first month or so.
  15. I thought that was a good selection as well, because it addresses TOS, TNG, DS9, and VOY. I've read two of the four, and they are very well written IMO
  16. I think the first order of business should be the to choose what we're going to read for the next two months (at least). I posted a poll above with some popular series'. What I assume we'll do is: 1. Decide on a schedule. 2. Give everyone some time to get and read the book. 3. Star discussing in about a month. 4. Give one month for each discussion, and then start at #2 again. So, please vote for your choice of reading, and then respond with any comments or questions!
  17. We use a lot of their graphics on our website. I agree: a very quality collection of graphics
  18. StarTrek.Com Homepage If you haven't been to ST.com since July, be sure to check it out now. They've updated the entire site, and added some nice new hub areas for each show.
