Erik, I love you bro. You're the best Ops Cheif ever, but you were the one responsible for all of that, all I did was lend a hand. You always find a way to facilitate whatever myself, or any of the crew want to do, No is not in your vocabulary, rather it's replaced with "how shall we do this?" We can do epic things because of you.

Congratulations to each of you â€ïž I can't think of anyone more deserving

Wooo our very own @Alora DeVeau getting an award. As said by Quinn, Amanda was one of the first people I met after the joining the Oumuamua and she gave me the warmest welcome, helped introduced me to everyone and make those first days an absolute joy.

Poll of the Month: Avatar 3 - The Awards Version
Lhandon_Nilsen replied to Genkos Adea's topic in Poll of the Month
I've got three main ones. Lt JG Lhandon Joseph Nilsen For me, it took a little while to find Jeremy Allen White, yet he was right there in front of me. Lhandon, who joined the fleet last year, was written very differently compared to Lhandon now. His character has evolved a lot as I worked to find my groove and style. I had his character in mind when picking my face claim, and I knew I wanted one that had a big family, mostly for the practical purposes of getting shots of them all together. Then, my other half pointed out Shameless, and I recalled that I LOVED both the UK and US versions. Those who are fans of Shameless and read Lhandon's wiki will notice that the order of birth is different (with Lip being the oldest, but Lhandon being the fourth child). I also picked JAW because I relate a lot to his portrayal of Lip and some of the struggles he faced, but also, I find JAW to be really hot (don't come at me, we all have our vices, haha). JAW's face claim also helped me work out what troubles Lhandon was facing, and his role in The Bear inspired Lhandon's love of cooking. T'Larn I have a PNPC whose face claim is Melanie Thandiwe Newton. I picked her because I needed a face claim that conveyed that this character was a little mischievous and cheekyâthe kind that would say she's planning a practical joke and then not do it, just to watch the other person squirm. I do want to play her again soon. Percy - name TBC I also have another PNPC in the works. For him, I wrote his backstory first, then found his face claim and landed on Charles Leclerc. A lot of Leclerc's style fitted with what I had in mind and Leclerc's stye started to inform Percy's style. The OEB will be meeting him soon. So there are my face claims and I've learned a lot from the last year or so simming, and my process for face claims and creating characters has changed wildly. -

Nilsen is an ops powerhouse. He can get everything the crew needs for the pre-awards, the ceremony, and the after-party all sorted while working out at the gym. However, he doesn't know where to even begin to look good, nor has he any idea what to wear. So, he played it safe. This suit is off the rack. He figures it works, and we can see that he's snuck away to get a smoke break, just so he can avoid those long speeches from the admirals where they keep talking in one long, incredibly unbroken sentence, moving from topic to topic so that no one can interrupt.

Tiny bit of backstory to how this came to be. Over the past few missions, I've found myself enjoy writing storylines and sims that have a diplomatic focus, particularly for my own character Nilsen. In our shore leave, I put a note in the OOC groups asking if anyone is interested. Sherlock and Maxwell replied almost instantly, and we got talking and came up with the idea that Sherlock asks her partner Martinson to give him some lessons. Taggart comes along too (and we learn that he might have a connection or two on the OEB that he doesn't know about yet) and we start simming this out. And of course, just causally like it's nobodies business, both Sherlock and Maxwell come along to give me the most amazing lines to play with. So first, Sherlock sets up the roleplay. This puts my character Lhandon on the back foot. He wasn't expecting this. He thought this would be a presentation or a worksheet. I let Lhandon make a mistake here, and it was picked up on right away. Taggart reacted kindly. Martinson also reacted kindly, and offered these words. Then Taggart goes for the neck. The second I read this, I wanted to write my reply. What a term to set! And what a challenge for Lhandon. This prompt and this observation was so perfectly placed. Does Lhandon know that he's being defensive. Martinson's prompt will give Lhandon perhaps the push he needed, particularly when he says get creative. So in short, these two canny simmers are amazing, have set up the most wonderful scenario for me to play in, and the chance to really explore this part of Lhandon's character and I'm really looking forward to what's next.
