  1. ((Corridor, Deck 6 - USS Juneau)) What a way to spend one's holidays. Maxwell Traenor had allotted several weeks of his pent-up earned leave in order to attend a major symposium on Starbase 821. There was an exotic and unique discovery in the Dialrin system in the Aavaro Wilds, and scientists from around the quadrant were being drawn in for study. Maxwell was attending the symposium out of personal curiosity rather than as a professional requirement, unlike many of the Starfleet physicists and geologists and xenoarcheologists and all other kinds of 'ologists' be
  2. (( USS Juneau - Temporary Quarters)) The new counselor stood in front of the mirror, applying the last finishing details on her makeup. She wanted to look perfect for her new assignment, well as perfect as SHE could look. R'Ariel looked at the Padd containing her orders, and realized how much time she had before reporting in on her new assignment aboard the USS Arrow. With a few basic navigational inquiries, she found her feet and made a mild-mannered entrance into the Clanhouse, a relaxing Lounge on Deck 10. She almost got lost twice... not the best thing for nervous energy release.
  3. ((Comet Surface)) ((OOC: All thoughts are strictly in-character.)) To say Noa was nervous was an understatement. And even though she was safely encompassed by an EV suit, that would limit what the other would see of her - practically eliminating any and all chance to see her facial expressions. Yet, she chose to remain completely still. She was, after all, in the company of people who were nothing but strangers and shipmates to her. And if there was a way to act around those people, is the utter maximum possible professionalism. At that moment, however, she was
  4. ((Deck 8, Club Olympus, USS Apollo)) :: Ruq’orb entered the club this was the first time he’d been in when the club was open. It looked completely different from the reduced lighting and the flashing disco lights. The fast-paced music that was playing was really catchy, he nodded his head along with the beat and with a bit of sway as he approached the bar. :: :: As he ordered a glass of water, he noted the voice and lack of anything emotional from the bar staff. :: Ruq’orb: oO Hologram? Oo :: He was still learning about how his senses worked but he’d al
  5. ((Bridge, USS Apollo-A)) :: The Klingon was inspecting his new station. People walked all around him. A huge bridge also meant a very busy one. Meanwhile, he reflected on the Klingon language and on how it affected cultural differences. That's why, when he noticed an officer was next to him, apparently awaiting for something, his Klingon upbringing took over. :: E'riQ: nuqneH? :: Pause. :: Oh, sorry. I meant, hello. I'm E'riQ. :: Only then did
  6. Welcome Joe! Ari sounds fantastic. I like your backstory and am certain you're going to have a lot of fun with that character.
  7. Hiya Mike and welcome! I remember being shocked at how thick and fast the emails came during the Academy. Between the new posts, tutorials and feedback there can be a lot to take in. As I moved onto a 'real ship' I didn't think I'd make it past a couple of weeks and wondered how anyone kept up with it. Thankfully it does get a lot easier to do. I don't know what email provider you use, but most allow you to sort your email in some fashion. I like to set a filter so that all emails coming from my ship are sent to a specific folder. That way I can click on the folder and just see the sims.
  8. Hi Rob! I'm reallty glad you found us! I'm from Scotland. When I first started here, I'd never played an RPG like this before either. It's now my favourite hobby in my free time, I've made amazing friends for life here. I hope you love it here too and enjoy the Academy.
  9. (( Migehn River, Thorain Mountains, Trill )) ::The vicious waves of the river crashed unendingly on the small boat. Emilia’s heart pounded as she struggled to paddle in the back, and steady the direction away from the rocky shores. A mix of excitement and anxiety brewed in Emilia’s chest, as the violent waves drenched the two officers with the fresh, lukewarm water of the river. Emilia’s grip was like iron on her paddle, iron that powered through the cold rust, clinging on for dear life in the midst of the overpowering waves of the river as it paddled. Despite everything however, s
  10. Welcome to the final day of the awards ceremony. So far this week we’ve announced the recipients of the Staff, General, Length of Service and Special Awards. Today we present the duty post awards. Each award focuses on a different department from the major ones such as medical, operations or engineering to the more unique - like diplomacy, intel or marines. Even civilians have a chance to be recognised for the valuable contributions that can be made to our stories by those who prefer the path less worn. Each of these awards recognises a player for excellence in simming their duty post. Si
  11. ((Mak’Ala City, Res Residence, Front Porch)) ::Emilia stood firmly in front of the pearl white door of her former home. Her hand, balled into a fist, was raised to knock on the lukewarm wood before her, freezing barely centimetres above the pearl white surface. Emilia’s heart practically trembled in her chest.:: oO Deep breaths Emilia Oo ::Taking in a gulp of air, Emilia finally knocked on the door. Feeling as if a weight was lifted off her shoulder, Emilia’s arm retreated to her side. From the other side of a door, resounded a muffled, but loud female voice
  12. Today we are proud to present the Length of Service and Special Awards. Length of Service Awards are presented to members who have been continuously active for at least a year, there are also tiers for three, five, and ten years of continuous service. Additionally, we’re excited to announce the introduction of three new tiers for fifteen, twenty and twenty five incredible years of continuous service, marking our most dedicated and long-serving members. This year, 34 players have reached a length of service milestone. Of those, 11 are celebrating their first milestone, having picked-
  13. Welcome to day one of the annual awards ceremony! We’re very excited to present the General and Staff Awards. The Staff awards are only for those members who have achieved the rank of commander or higher. These awards recognize the hard work of our staff, who do the behind-the-scenes work required to keep the engine of our community running, and smoothly at that! They help foster the fun simming environment we all enjoy. Just like with last year, the first officers of the fleet were asked to vote on the nominations for each staff award, providing recommendations to the EC about who should
  14. Welcome back! We never had a chance to serve together, but I remember seeing you about the fleet when you were here previously.
  15. (( Turbolift, USS Gorkon )) ::So far, Jo had managed not to die on the planet filled with Trills, of whom her experience had mainly consisted of beings whose ultimate aim in life was to die in a cataclysmic fashion. It was like they were all living on the knife-edge of a grandiose gamble with fate. She was contemplating their tendency to run headlong into danger, and if Ops should introduce some kind of Trill insurance policy, when the Turbolift doors were closing as she approached. She broke into a jog to catch it.:: Marshall: Hey, hold the lift! ::Emilia’s
  16. ((Tou’gulia’s, Leran Manev, Trill)) ::Trips to Trill had previously been confined to those of business and short breaks. Kael had found himself here a few times over the years, but he would hardly call himself familiar with the Trill Homeworld. Yet, despite his disconnection from Trillius Prime, Kael felt strangely at home here in the old section of Leran Manevs, affectionately called the Old City. The naming convention wasn't accidental; the architecture was old here. Reminiscent of a world where individual planets still held their distinct identity. A time where raw materials
  17. (( Isle of Derom, off the coast of Iklan Cape, Trill )) O. Marshall: You're a hard woman to find when you want to be. ::Jo frowned and looked up. The quiet evening she had planned to have on the little island watching the sunset was slipping rapidly out of her fingers. She was lost in her own head, daydreaming, thinking, pondering, trying to piece together thoughts that were entirely stumbling through her mind at the best of times. ::She rubbed her forehead, massaging her temple with her index finger, feeling a headache approaching with an irregular tentativeness in his
  18. Tasi wants to get noticed in a backless dress that is just tasteful enough for such a prestigious event.
  19. ((Genkos Sim's Quarters, Deck 8. USS Gorkon)) :: Returning back to his quarters from his busy day carrying out medical exams, Genkos plopped his cane into the rack he'd had made specially before plopping himself down on the bed. As much as he fancied sleep, he thought he had better check his messages. Shifting himself over to the monitor, he tapped at a few buttons. There were a couple of messages, one about how the Rangers were going to be folded into the rest of the crew, another about the shift patterns in sick bay, and the last one was from somebody called Tillul Sim.:: oO Dad! O
  20. Welcome back! I remember you and your character from when you were here previously. I'm really glad you've been able to rejoin us and look forward to seeing you about the fleet.
  21. ((Sikuna Colony, Administration Centre)) ::The comm chirped and conversation started with the officers.:: Vess: =/\=Vess to Sevo.=/\= Sevo: =/\= Sevo here, Commander. =/\= Vess: =/\=What’s the ETA on those supplies? We have a very sick woman over here.=/\= Sevo: =/\= Yea...um. We hit a little snag. We made it to the clinic, but came across a very distraught man whose wife is in labor. =/\= ::Eerie understood the concern with the man. During an alternative reality Eerie had almost lost his emotional center with the birth of a child and death his Bolian partner Pei
  22. BACK - Antidis Memorial Medical Center, Lyaksti’kton (Alpha Sauria IV)) :: The sun’s golden rays danced across the labor room and lit up a few of the shiny metal instruments displayed on the table. The nurses were walking around, with purpose, carrying several tools and sterile cloths. Yiggtissi stood next to the bed. A slight look of confusion on his face. He was positive that he was somewhere else a few minutes ago. He couldn’t quite remember but it he was swear he remembered seeing himself lying on a bed. Something was happening. He felt a hand on his shoulder. ::
  23. Welcome back! Its always great to see familiar faces returning.
  24. ((Conference Room 1, USS Blackwell)) R’Ven: Greetings Commander. ::Shayne’s wide eyes jumped off the PADD he was scouring as Merrick spoke to him. When he was but a boy, the mere mention of his name, in any tone or volume of voice, would elicit a serious startle from him. Even if it was expected, he would snap to attention, face taught and body primed to face the non-existent predators. To the present day, he hated roll calls.:: ::He hadn’t meant to ignore the men already in conversation- chit chat and work rarely mixed well, especially for him. Besides, why intrude upon their discussion?
  25. ((USS Blackwell, Conference Room 1)) ::Ensign Verato Sarjak sat up straight in his chair, hands clasped before him on top of the table in the Conference Room aboard the USS Blackwell. Around him all the officers sat, waiting for the Admiral and Captain to show up and address them. It was a dicey situation they all found themselves in. One in which he himself was admittedly curious to see how it all played out.:: Verato: oOIt’s a deadly game we all play out here on the outskirts of space, isn’t it Verato? It’s a dangerous balancing act of the will and mind, of truth and
