The lesser known but no less important linguistic oddity was that the language also contained nearly seven hundred and fifty ways of describing relaxed and, at this very moment, Doctor Gott was entirely gefselfblibnated. He toyed with the word and allowed it to roll off his tongue like a collection of lead bricks as he made his way back to Deep Space Thirty Three from the Interspecies Medical Exchange annual conference, this year very wisely held on the sunny beaches of Risa's endless tropical paradise. Aside from continuing to find grains of sand in the most inconvenient ear folds, Gott was so comprehensively gorged on relaxation that he very nearly missed the earliest tingle in his lobes as the ship dropped out of warp, under the control of his personal digital assistant Atraxia. The sultry voice for which he'd paid a steep surcharge filled the cabin as he slowly came to his feet, disregarding the massaging embraces of the central compartments somewhat alive carpeting. They must've missed you terribly, Doctor Gott. =/\= While part of his mind knew that logically Atraxia had been programmed specifically to stroke and coddle his ego with expert care that part was small, and quiet, and easily ignored. Atraxia: =/\= Doctor Gott, you may want to come to the control center. There appears to be several Starfleet vessels at Deep Space Thirty Three we haven't encountered before. =/\= Gott's voice, which many Ferengi considered distinguished but most other species with ears considered shrill, brash and piercing, boomed unnecessarily through the comm channel. Gott: =/\= HnNNgGGhhHhnnghghhhhHHh! =/\= Atraxia: =/\= Are you feeling alright, Doctor Gott? Do you need something, Doctor Gott? =/\= Gott finished stretching with a cacophony of groans, clicks, pops and several sounds for which there is no adjective in common Federation languages. Eventually his elaborate self-care ritual was complete and he padded his way from his master bedroom through his lesser bedroom and out past the shimmering fountain of Snont, Ferengi Goddess of Love and Prenuptial Agreements, and into the ships control center. The view through the massive panoramic viewports was, to his eyes, entirely unremarkable. Gott: Well? What?! I see a bunch of white smudges and one slightly larger white smudge. A portion of the viewport was suddenly overlaid with a clever hologram, showing the still distant Deep Space Thirty Three in exquisite detail. Atraxia: There are presently three Federation Starships docked at the station, Doctor Gott. One is the USS Arrow where I am certain your grateful patients will celebrate your arrival, Doctor Gott. The other two vessels are the USS Valley Forge and the USS Ronin, Doctor Gott. Neither vessel has visited the station in our time here, Doctor Gott. Would you like me to announce your arrival over wideband subspace, Doctor Gott? The sound of tinkling latinum began filling his ears as he inspected the tiny docked vessels in the hologram. Gott: No no, that won't be necessary, I'm sure my reputation has proceeded me. I pay that publicist more than enough to ensure that. Which one of those new ships is the biggest? Atraxia: The USS Ronin is 464.43 meters in length by.... A hint of irritation crept into Gott's voice. Gott: Atraxia, what did I say about long boring answers to simple questions? Atraxia sounded just a bit chided when she replied. Atraxia: Sorry, Doctor Gott, of course, Doctor Gott. The Ronin is the biggest, Doctor Gott. Gott clacked his teeth excitedly. Gott: Then land us there! Immediately! I know how these Starfleet ships work, there's always some fraud calling themselves a Counselor who thinks asking 'and how did that make you feel' over and over again is therapy! Atraxia: You're so right, Doctor Gott. Setting a course, Doctor Gott. Shall I request landing clearance, Doctor Gott? Gott was halfway back to his suites and thinking about the proper outfit to wear so as to wow his new clientele when he waved away the question. Gott: Of course not! The last thing I want is some squeaky little Starfleetie telling us we need security clearances and authentication...whatevers. Just send our IME credentials and tell them it's a medical emergency! That always works. Atraxia: Of course, Doctor Gott. You're so clever, Doctor Gott. Broadcasting now, Doctor Gott! Gott padded back to his suites with the sweet song of latinum to be made ringing in his lobes. He was glad to be so deeply gefselfblibnated, it meant he'd be at his absolute best for his newest roster of patients. ((Fifteen Minutes Later, Shuttlebay 3, USS Ronin)) After more than a little shouting, which Gott was usually not opposed to but preferred to be the one doing it rather than being at the receiving end of it, Gott debarked the now parked Billable hours and surveyed his surrounds. His made his way across the busy deckspace where dozens of uniformed officers in the drab boring outfits Starfleet insisted on wearing were scurrying to and fro, mostly moving large pieces of equipment or cargo that Gott had no interest in. He found a computer terminal and began rapping on it forcefully with his knuckles until it gave an acknowledging chime. Gott: Hello? Helloo?! Is this thing even on?! Computer: =/\= Please state inquiry. =/\= Gott sneered at dull voice but put aside his long dissatisfaction with Starfleet computers and spoke very loudly and with exaggerated slowness. Gott: Where...Are...The....Counselors...On...This...Ship?!? Computer: =/\= The Counseling Suite is Adjacent to Main Sickbay, Deck Ten, Section 21 Alpha. =/\= Gott began pacing away before the answer was even entirely given, stalking towards what he hoped was a turbolift nearby. When it wasn't he loudly criticized the officer currently occupying the lavatory, turned, found an actual turbolift and snapped a destination into the air. Gott: Sickbay! ((A few minutes later, Counseling Suites, Deck 10, USS Ronin)) Gott stalked in without announcing himself, sneered at the appallingly dour interior and then began loudly speaking to the air when no one came to greet him. Gott: Does anyone even work on this ship?! Dekas: Response Gott clicked his marvelously irregular teeth in anticipation. Gott: Oh yeah and who are you, bigbird? Dekas: Response He'd finally found his newest competitor. He knew exactly how to greet a fellow professional. Gott: Oh I'm sure you know me! I'm Doctor Gott, famed author, speaker, interior decorator. My newest volume, 'Gott Rocks,' on the unexpected psychological stresses faced by exo-geologists, is already setting the whole field on its ear. Dekas: Response Gott: Well in that case I'm sure you'll be glad to know I'm in the neighborhood!
