Noa stood in the turbolift, holding a small box, and looking quite anxious. While the box was opaque, it wasn’t exactly the strongest in terms of materials to protect its contents from impact. Luckily, however, the contents didn’t need to be protected from impacts.

Wyla was still reeling from the conversation with Sameh and the realization that she had a date. She was trying not to panic or freak out and figured she’d probably need to talk with Liz and have a girl’s night in just so she could get advice from her bestie on how to not mess it all up. She was clutching the Dress uniformed Captain Twibble she’d just acquired against her chest like a personal shield. 

Perhaps on instinct, as soon as the doors opened Noa lurched forward, only noticing the deck the turbolift halted at was deck 10, rather than deck 9. That, and the fact that she managed to run into a much taller figure than her, dropping the box in the process. The box opened on impact, and out of the box popped out a Captain Twibble plushie, donning a command gold uniform, approximately from the 2260s. It even had those cool little rank insignia of a Captain on the sleeves!

Levinson: ::Identifying Avae:: My apologies, Lieutenant. I did not see where I was going.

She felt someone run right into her the moment the doors to the turbolift opened and got a full brunt of a Vulcan that caused her to stumble back a little.  

Avae: Oh! It’s alright, Lieutenant. I’m sorry, I was distracted and shouldn’t have been standing in the way… and what. Is. That?! 

She exclaimed in surprise upon glancing down and seeing the box on the floor, opened and with a Twibble that was not like any of the ones she had already. Her eyes widened as she spoke and she glanced at Noa in both confusion and earnest exuberance. 

Levinson: It is a… Captain Twibble plushie.

What could only be described as a high pitched squeal erupted from Wyla upon seeing it and she clutched her own Captain Twibble excitedly and thrust hers out in front of her towards Noa. 

Avae: Stars that’s awesome! I have a Captain Twibble too!! Wait…I haven’t seen that one before and I know all of them. ::Realization dawned on her:: Wait wait wait…do you collect them too?

Noa took a deep breath as she gently scooped her new Captain Twibble with the delicacy it deserved, and started scratching it gently as if it was a real twibble-err, tribble. She felt the anxiety that was building up slowly starting to decay. Considering the nurse had already seen it, there was no real point in hiding it.

Levinson: Yes, I do collect them. And this is the Last Century variant. I just picked it up from cargo bay 5.

Avae: ::Giggling:: Awwww, that one’s so cute! I just got this one from the Brew Continuum. He’s in his dress whites. ::She held it out excitedly, then noticed the wrinkles from her holding it so tightly both now and with Sameh:: I didn’t think anyone else on the ship but me collected these. 

Noa slightly tilted her head up to examine Wyla’s Twibble, trying to balance the amount of time spent staring at it and the amount of details garnered. She had to admit, it was about as adorable as her new one, even if it was wrinkled a bit. That most likely meant it was well-snuggled, which Noa could definitely get behind.

Levinson: :Forming a slightly embarrassed expression:: Well… Surprise?

The Antosian giggled excitedly and smiled at Noa. 

Avae: How many do you have? 

Levinson: Only this one and the original uniform that was at the wedding. How about you?

She couldn’t help but giggle excitedly. She had someone on board who was as eager about the plushies as she was enough to collect them. She immediately began bouncing on the balls of her feet. 

Avae: Ohhh, well I have the original. Two of them actually. One for snuggling and one just to have for display because of course it’s the original and I have this one and the Cadet Twibble one. Which is really cute cause it’s got a little academy trainer craft that comes with it!

Noa looked to the other ends of the corridor. There were a few crewmembers walking in the distance, but no one that actually approached their direction. Quickly picking up the now-open box, she looked at Wyla again.

Levinson: Could we, probably, continue this in the turbolift please…? I do not want others to… err, see me with them. No offense! oO It’s a bit late with Wyla, now isn’t it? Oo

She saw the Vulcan’s glance, and if she had been any other species she might have considered it nervous. It was easy to forget Noa was ¾ Human. She smiled and nodded. 

Avae: Of course!! 

She exclaimed giddily and opened the turbolift, which was thankfully empty and then stepped in after Noa. 

Levinson: ::Nodding, slightly relieved:: Thank you. I… did not know there are more Captain Twibbles until I stumbled upon it a few weeks ago.

No sooner had the doors closed than she looked at Noa and smiled. 

Avae: It’s soooo cool that someone else on board likes them! I know Commander Raga was the reason we have them to begin with, and Commander Peters, and Commander Deveau. But I don’t think our Commanders actually have any. ::She quickly added:: We should definitely let each other know when new ones come out!!!

Levinson: Oh, absolutely we should. And technically, you may be right. ::She quirked an eyebrow in a bit of playfulness:: After all, I am a Lieutenant.

Avae: ::She giggled:: And I’m a Jaygee. I guess that means we have more fun? 

Noa paused for a fairly long time before replying, intensifying the Twibble scratching and slightly tightening her grasp on it.

Levinson: I will admit, it is not something I want other members of the crew to find out.

Avae: Awww. Why not? ::She asked inquisitively:: 

Wyla was obviously an open and bubbly person despite her shyness, everyone pretty much knew everything about her because of her rambling. And with her shared outburst with Alora at the wedding there’s no way anyone in the quadrant doesn’t know how much she loves the plushies. But, Noa was part Vulcan and a much more private person than she. 

Levinson: ::Lowering her head down:: Mostly because I don’t want it to affect how others see me. Especially professionally.

Noa wondered why exactly she was opening up so quickly to Wyla. Wyla was quite bubbly, almost to an infectious degree. It was almost as if she had to keep up with her, and she couldn’t really do that while closed off as she usually was. That was also combined with the fact that Wyla knew about her liking Captain Twibble already, which almost made her stoic demeanor useless. Was there really a point in keeping it up?

Avae: Why in the stars would you think that would change anything?

Levinson: We may not work closely together, but you probably did see me on duty at least a few times, right? What would you, or the average crewmember, think if you knew that even while I am acting the way I usually do? It is a stark contrast, after all.

The Antosian grinned at Noa for a moment. 

Avae: You’re asking the person who rambles on almost all the time and literally squealed. Out loud. At the wedding. In front of the Captain and a loooooot of high ranking officers, about what people think? 

She giggled softly and went on. 

Avae: I’m really nervous. Which is why I ramble a lot. But everyone knows that. And some people are surprised that I like extreme sports. But it doesn’t change how anyone views me. With everything that we’ve all been through, do you think that anyone is going to rely on you any less because you happen to have a really cool and awesome hobby? 

Wyla did raise good points there. And just to prove her right, Noa, perhaps unsurprisingly, didn’t know she liked extreme sports.

Levinson: ::Nodding:: You’re probably right, yeah. And it is something to think about. Thanks.

Avae: Of course!! ::She giggled and squeezed her Twibble:: 

Noa didn’t particularly want to turn this into a counseling session more than it already was, so she didn’t elaborate further.

Levinson: ::Chuckling:: And sorry for dragging you into a counseling session.

She smiled, a bit flustered at what this turned into.

Avae: ::She shook her head:: Oh, it’s alright! It was nice to know a bit more about you. But, everyone who knows you knows you’re not fully Vulcan. So, you don’t have to pretend to be anything other than yourself! ::She blinked:: Sorry…I guess the Twibbles are great for making you feel better, even if that causes impromptu counseling sessions. 

Levinson: oO On the Chin’toka, probably… but elsewhere? Especially on Vulcan…? Oo I guess so too! ::Chuckling before speaking semi-sarcastically:: Maybe suggest the usage of them in counseling sessions to Doctor Snow?

Wyla smiled at Noa and she hugged the Twibble she held in her arms. 

Avae: Now that we both know we both love Captain Twibble plushies, I wonder who else on the ship has one? ::She laughed:: Maybe we should start a fan club. Wait, should we start a fan club cause I would totally love to have a fan club!!

Levinson: I don’t know… ::Beat:: Maybe? Don’t clubs need a minimal amount of people or something?

In truth, Noa was still fairly concerned about letting others know she likes Captain Twibble plushies. It was something she definitely needed to think about more.

That was a good question but that wasn’t going to stop Wyla’s optimism. 

Avae: Oh, I don’t know. Probably, but when you think about it, a fan club is for anyone who’s a fan of that thing. So long as there’s at least one member then it counts right? ::She giggled and held out her own Twibble towards Noa:: Besides, we can have our own fan club of two and if you ever want to let people know this awesome side of you then we can find more people!!

Levinson: I… guess so! ::Smirking:: You know, your excitement is almost infectious. We should meet up more often, I think.

Avae: Oh? Well I’m pretty sure that’s impossible. I’m Antosian, our immune system is pretty strong. ::Did she just make a joke, yes, yes she did:: And we should definitely meet up more often! I’ve been working on a list of ideas for future Captain Twibbles that I want to give to Commander Raga. I’d love your input!!!

Levinson: ::Giggling for a fraction of a second:: Oh, definitely. I’d love to suggest more ideas myself, too! Just, maybe for now, keep them anonymous, please?

Soon after, the turbolift stopped at deck 9, Noa’s final destination. As the turbolift doors opened and Noa prepared to step out, they prepared their goodbyes.

Avae: Of course! ::She smiled as the turbolift reached the deck Noa actually meant to get off on:: I’ll catch you later, Noa! I mean, Lieutenant! ::She blushed:: I already have two pages worth. 

Levinson: ::Smirking:: Don’t worry, Noa is fine while off duty. See you later, Wyla!

Stepping out, Noa quickly made her way to her quarters, with a lot to think about and a new Twibble to find a spot for.

Wyla watched Noa leave and giggled to herself, clutching her Twibble tightly the doors closed and it took her a moment to realize the turbolift wasn’t moving. 

Avae: Deck Fourteen. 

She was glad Noa bumped into her, now she just had to figure out what to do about the date with Sameh. Oh stars! That’s right….she had a date!!! She’d probably have to call Liz for advice.
