This was so unexpected and so fun to read this little mental digression. Holodramas, indeed!

Everything about that sim is so good I had to come back twelve hours after reading it to make a third post in a row about how fun it is. To review: Shayne takes a telepathy blocker designed for interrogations, so Semara can't read him and know what he's thinking. Proceeds to feverishly think about baked goods, just in case it's not working (I guess)... Finally just blurts out what's on his mind anyway. Don't mind me. I'm just giggling over here.

...I'm sorry, what? The XO's done it this time.

I can't wait to be science besties with this guy.

@Alora DeVeau the name actually came from our fabulous ensign @Jicen Ayemet, who introduced this character at the very beginning of the mission in a wonderful sim of her own!

What a lovely bit of simming by our @Maz Rodan. It gave me satisfying and strong "Watership Down" vibes, and considering I read that far too many times as a kid, I had to put this up here!

Such a simple, yet really effective piece from @Dr. Cassie Mason. I think anyone who's ever felt even a little social anxiety will have no problem feeling that little twinge of discomfort, thinking about how it can be easy to become a role, rather than a whole person. Fantastic work!

@Maz Rodan I've been really enjoying these little hints that keep getting dropped about something... off about our ship and a odd lingering presence of the crew before ours, but this one was particularly fun. I'm also digging that Alvarez's reputation is rubbing off on the totally sweet and innocent Mason...

Earnest, sad, and most of all a really compelling read. @Randal Shayne writes so strong usually, but this trio knocked it out of the park for me.
