Tahna Meru Posted August 21 Posted August 21 @Samira Neathler this one hurts❤️🩹 Quote (( Deck Nine - USS Gorkon )) A training in the holodeck, that was it, nothing more. Throwing a knife at a certain target, a challenge of who scored the best between herself and her brothers. Her brothers. She quickly shook her head, this was not the moment to think about what had happened to them, or where they were. A target that needed to be eliminated before it changed them all. Not beings that had a family in a prior life. She swallowed, her eyes drifting to the lieutenant’s daughter. Safeguard the crew and their family from turning into one of them. Neathler: One, two, three. She stepped forward, raising her arm while taking the corner. She heard the phaser firing, the same moment she let go of the knife that was aimed at the drone’s unguarded neck. Only when the knife was flying through the air, she noticed these Borg were dressed in light blue colours instead of the normal black. Samira took a step forward, then halted and took a step back, watching in horror how the knife reached its target and hit one of their own. To outrun the knife would have been impossible. The lieutenant droid’s shield returned but Samira didn’t even notice it as the group moved closer towards the drones, Borg implants already visible. How could that have happened in such a short notice? Samira swallowed and looked at their faces. One science and one medical officer, their names imprinted in her mind. Finley: Response Farvor: It was necessary. The ensign’s words barely registered with Samira. In a blurry vision she saw the lieutenant’s daughter getting closer to the one she had hit, giving the man a nudge with her foot. A sparkle of hope returned, maybe he wasn’t dead, if they could get him to sickbay he could make it. A horrid gurgling sound left the man’s lungs but that was it, no breathing, no movement, no nothing. Someone put a hand on the girl’s head and a voice said the words she did not want to hear. Taelon: No lifesigns, Commander. She’d killed one of their own, just like that, like it meant nothing. How could she ever look anyone in the eyes again? Farvor / Finley: Response Taelon: Commander, both commbadges confirm these are - were - from the Gorkon. The drones that initiated their assimilation are unaccounted for. Still not saying a word, Samira swallowed again and knelt between the two bodies. Slowly she reached for their combadges and removed them. One way hoping, they’d miraculously come to life again and take her life in revenge. Nothing of the kind happened. Didn’t the science officer have a family onboard the ship? How would she… She closed both their eyes, not wanting to see her own reflection in them. Farvor / Finley: Response ARIA: Scanning. ::It made the little silver-bell like chime again:: More activity detected nearby; deck layout suggests origin as Nine Forward. Supposition: Presence of evacuees and large unobstructed space makes it ideal for an assimilation centre. Taelon: Comm- Whatever the lieutenant wanted to say, Cyri interrupted him. Cyri: The bartender was nice. If they’ve gotten him, I… Farvor / Finley: Response Lachlan and who else was there in Sto’vo’kor? People might have gone there to seek support and safety. Her hand reached for the knife, it trembled as she pulled it out. Whoever was responsible for her terrible mistake would pay. She stood up and returned in the direction they had come from. Barely looking at the others or if they were following her. Taelon / Finley / Farvor: Response They reached the lounges, Songbird on the right, Sto’vo’kor on the left. She took a breath, she only had one thing on her mind. Her hand briefly touched the pocket where she had safeguarded the two combadges. Neathler: How many? Taelon / Finley / Farvor: Response And that’s how many she wanted to see laying on the floor. Every single one of them. Yet this time she wouldn’t make the mistake of throwing her knife blindly. She’d look those Borg drones straight in the eyes as she revenged those two fallen officers. She triggered Sto’vo’kor’s doors and stepped in. Taelon / Finley / Farvor: Response --- Lieutenant Commander Samira Neathler Executive Officer USS Gorkon G239508SN0 2 1 Quote
