Popular Post Serala Posted August 18 Popular Post Posted August 18 And yet another great President Chekov sim by @TAma: Quote (( Bridge, Deck 3 - Primary Hull, USS Chin’toka )) Sherlock: ::panning to look back at Serala:: If we use Lieutenant Stapledon's idea, we could use those ships to disrupt multiple clusters all at once. We just have to hope one of them doesn't decide to cut out the "brain.” Serala: Make the preparations. Quickly. We’re out of time. Stapledon: Aye. McGillian: Responses Sherlock: Mister President, ::gesturing to the helm:: if you'd be so kind. Anton raised his eyebrows in surprise at the suggestion of the first officer. Chekov: Who, me? McGillian: Responses Serala: Are you good to take the helm, Mister President? Sherlock: It's in the blood, right? Chekov: My father taught me to fly, but I am only rated for small craft, and they haven’t let me fly my own one of those for quite some time. However, despite his misgivings, Anton got up from the guest seat and relocated to the helm. McGillian: Responses Serala: Very well. Lieutenant Stapledon, begin the preparations. Commander Sherlock, can you give the President a crash course on flying? The first officer, who was apparently name Sherlock, came over and quickly pointed out the controls to him. It wasn’t that different from the smaller craft. Stapledon: Ready, captain. Serala tapped a button on her console and opened a shipwide channel. Serala: =/\= This is the Captain. We have retrieved President Chekov and are about to make a final stand at Earth. The Borg have targeted all major population centers for destruction. I am going to be honest. I am not a diplomat. I am a soldier. The situation does not look good, but there is one thing we have: Hope. Even while we make a final stand, it is believed that Admiral Jean-Luc Picard is working to end this threat. We do not know how well he is doing. But we are proceeding in the hope that he will succeed. President Chekov believes in us and we are going to make a stand for Earth and the Federation. I am grateful for each and every member of this crew and could not be more honored to serve with each of you. If fate has decreed that we die today, let us die with honor, standing for the ideals and values of the Federation. If we live, I will ensure each of you is honored for your actions today. :: she paused to give her words time to sink in :: All stations, standby. =/\= She left the channel open, but spoke to the President. Serala: Mister President, do you want to say any words before we begin? Chekov: =/\= Thank you, Captain. Crew of the USS Chin’toka, this is your President speaking. Do not believe the Borg when they say resistance is futile. That is what they want you to believe, so that you will lay down and allow them to destroy Earth and the Federation. But we have seen here today already that Starfleet will resist, even when our own people are turned against us - against their will - we resisted. Will continue to resist, and we will prevail. If there is one thing my father taught me, it is that there is always hope even in the darkest hour. I know that each of you still have some tricks up your sleeve so let us all do everything we can to save the Federation! =/\= Anton nodded at the Captain that he was done with his speech, though she did not close the shipwide channel after him. Serala: Mister President, warp one directly to Earth. Bring us out of warp between the fleet and Earth, then bring us about. Lieutenant Stapledon, initiate your plan once we arrive. Chekov: Aye, warp one, Captain. He keyed in the controls, relying on the computer’s calculated path to not warp them into the planet or something else in their path. Sherlock: Response Serala: Very good, Number One. Signal them to standby. Sherlock: Response Serala: Let’s go out in a blaze of glory. Mister President, execute. Chekov: Executing. He turned them around to face the fleet, many of whom were turned towards Earth. The ship was snappier than he expected and he had to correct back. Stapledon: I'm getting command interfaces on a few nearby ships! Ordering them to stand down A few of the ships who were targeting locking cities on Earth for orbital bombardment stopped charging weapons. Chekov: It is working! Serala/Sherlock/McGillian: response Chekov: Do we know of any friendly ships we can distribute this network disruption to? Serala/Sherlock/McGillian: response MSNPC President Anton Chekov President of the United Federation of Planets as simmed by...
