Popular Post Alieth Posted July 15 Popular Post Posted July 15 (edited) @LuxaLorana writing @Karrod Niac's mother is probably the more terrifying thing in the galaxy. But also effing hilarious. I'm re-reading it to reply and i've laught more than the first time, and it really deserve to be here! Quote ((Trill Transport Ship Dexa - Main Transport Lounge - Orbiting Trill Homeworld)) Myrtle Morrahn was in a foul mood and it all began with a Vulcan. In fact it began 45 years, 4 months and 15 days ago. When he was born. Karrod. What she had done to deserve such an ungrateful child was beyond her. Her cheeks flushed red with anger as she twisted the wool in front of her. She had been seated in-between two enormous Klingons on the transport that she had taken from the Trill homeworld. oO I'm sure they love their mothers Oo ((Flashback - earlier that day - The Garden of the Morrahn Homestead)) Myrtle was seated in the sunshine. It was too hot, and the breeze was too cold. How is that even possible she had complained to her daughter, Leonora who had gone on to talk about things like atmospheric pressure and wind patterns. She almost began to sound like Karrod. Nonsense. Myrtle sighed and patted Leonora’s hand and shushed her gently. She was a true daughter of Trill and a precious gemstone that was cherished by all but Myrtle Morrahn would not allow Karrod’s influence to ruin her. Almost as if a mere thought of him was like a summoning, the communication device began to sound off. Blaring from the house and out into the peaceful garden they were seated in. M.Morrahn: If that isn’t the great guardians themselves then I don’t want to know! L.Morrahn: Mother, maybe you - M.Morrahn: I will not. Myrtle watched as her daughter sighed. M.Morrahn: What? L.Morrahn: That’s the Starfleet one. You know, the one that we got from Karrod. Remember you scheduled a call with that Vulcan from his crew? Alien. M.Morrahn: What kind of a name is Alien? :: huffs some more :: I don’t like Vulcans. You know that. Why would a Vulcan want to speak to me? All that logic this and logic that. It gives me a sore head. I’m getting a sore head now even thinking about logicking. Leonora nodded, a mischievous smirk on her face. L.Morrahn: Karrod can’t even speak to you himself, he has to send his Vulcan pet. M.Morrahn: Oh, that boy! Leonora, get the thing! Leonora huffed and then glided into the room, taking her time to pick up the device and return it to her mother. Myrtle Morrahn peered intently into the device and scrunched up her face and took several attempts to answer before Leonora pushed the button in frustration. Alieth: Mrs Morrahn, I appreciate that you have been able to accommodate my call in your tight schedule. M.Morrahn: Well … Yes, I’ve been in meetings all morning. Very busy here :: takes a sip of her iced tea :: Is this important? What do you want from me? Is this about Karrod, has been a good boy? Or has he been causing trouble in the fleet. Has he crashed more ships? Alieth: In fact, if only you can help me. So tell me, how long has it been since you last heard from your son? M.Morrahn: Heard from?! :: laughs :: I’m lucky if I get a subspace text! Alieth: I thought so, that was indeed quite inconsiderate on his part. I assume he has not informed you of his most recent promotion either, has he? The sound that Myrtle Morrahn bellowed made the birds leap from the trees in fear, and even Leonora had to steady herself. M.Morrahn: :: quiet fury :: He did what? It was spoken like an accusation. She could take him going off and exploring strange new worlds and what not. Boys will be boys. What Myrtle Morrahn was not prepared to endure a second longer was her son's insistence on keeping her from her rightful place. As the mother of a Starfleet Captain. She thought of Singa and Lora at her weekly plek’et game, going on about their children and the fantastic achievements over the years. And now, finally, she had a Starfleet Captain to throw in their faces. M.Morrahn: Alien. I will be there as soon as I can :: to Leonora :: Pack my travel bag and get me on the next transport out of Trill! ((A very long journey later - Transporter Room 2 - Deck 9 - USS Ronin)) The elder Trill beamed aboard the ship and was faced with a very short Vulcan. She squinted as she looked around at the ship. M.Morrahn: He didn’t clean his bedroom either when he was growing up. Why change a habit of a lifetime?! Alieth: Response M.Morrahn: I don’t care about any of that, Alien. Take me to my baby boy. Now.
