Popular Post Haukea-Willow
We watched the wormhole close for the last time... ...and knew there would be no going back. Part 1 The rocket roared like a dragon’s fire Flames of ember, pure and gold. And the rocket’s sole companion, An astronaut dressed in fabric of golden hue Sonterned down the well worn steal, towards the golden gate. Upon their entry, ticket in hand, The mettle framed door closed with a clang. The astronaut knew their fate was sealed, Ner to return from interstellar space. Yet, with a flick of the wrist, each switch was flipped, Buttons pressed, and controls in hand, The astronaut clicked their seatbelt in place. No time to look back, nowhere to turn The academy behind them, the future ahead. A countdown in place 5….4….3…. 2…. The astronaut sent one final plea, “Please oh please” they cried, hands clasped in front, “universe be merciful, for I am about to die.” With the countdown reaching its final ascend, ….1…. The astronaut took off, shooting through space. The flames of the rocket, dissipating through the cold dead darkness, Did little to comfort the lonely companion, the sole astronaut. Then suddenly with a sputter and spurt, The rocket’s flames ceased, Sending its companion careening through interplanetary space. Though from the corner of their eye, Little could be seen than the grand milky-way. Despite such loveliness of rich purple and gold, The astronaut knew their fate was still sealed. No chance of surviving, no place to go next, Not even an escape to the thoughts in their head. Yet from lightyears away, A magnificent blast shone their way. Swirls of snowy white light, Drew their tiny ship in. Now from beyond the gate, The astronaut traveled through the long wormhole tunnel. Only to appear crashing when they made their grand exit. “Oh universe, oh universe,” the astronaut cried, hands folding behind them, “have mercy on me.” Despite that they spin, spun around like a top, to face the wormhole closing up with a zip. Now with a frown plastered on their lips, The astronaut sucked in one final deep breath. There was no going back, no turning around No flames to propel them through the blackness of space. Part 2 So as you read this just know, I’m the astronaut that went, from the ground to the stars, With no way to come back. I was gone with a blink, My fate sealed shut, Not even the stars to watch as I went… Now I’ve gone through a wormhole, My home left behind, life support failing My life on the line. As you read this just know, Don’t ever you go Shooting through outer space You may never come back You may plead with yourself, “oh mercy me, I should never have gone.” So if you ever get the chance Don’t you dare take it Space isn’t friendly, it’ll eat you right quick.
