Is it permissable to use non-canon information, such as the events from Star Trek books, in order to create a story? The story idea I've had floating around in my head deals with the events from the Worlds of Star Trek Deep Space Nine: Trill and the neo-purist movement that caused great devestation to the planet.

I did mention the technology bit, and that is why I said we have to use our imaginations. I suppose they did use PADDs in TOS, if that is what those big, clunky black things were. I was only seven when I was watching the show, so I don't remember much, but basically it irks me that the Enterprise creators went so far off the mark. Their PADDs look much more like those used in the later series. It's like TOS never existed.

The only thing that bothered me was that it seemed much more high tech than the original series, but sometimes you just have to realize the advancements in our own technology and use your imagination so as not to be bothered. I would have liked if they had not used technology (such as PADDs) that showed up on the later shows but were not a part of TOS. Still, I loved the show, and I'll miss it. I think it is a bunch of bologna.

Also, I'm trying to make a friend's character into a Bajoran/Cardassian. The skin tones from the actress I'm cloning ridges from is different from the character photos I have. Does anyone know how to do this in Corel Photopaint or Adobe Photoshop?

Well, I've figured out how to do a few things on Adobe, so if anyone would like to have a picture adapted for your character, let me know. I have done the one that is currently posted for my character and one vulcan female that I have not posted yet. I'm not the best at it, but I'm adequate, and I might be able to do a passing picture for you. Anyone else wanna offer, as well? Maybe between several of us, we can get pictures up for a lot of people. I'm just offering cause I'm nice and cause I like to see pictures of people's characters. Unless there is a lot of really good description on the character, it is hard to picture them, so having a picture is nice. PM me if you want to ask me to do a picture for you. I'll let you know if it is in my scope or not.

Yeah, I've noticed that, although in most recent updates on a couple of sites I've found, I've seen that tactical is back to red. Anyone else notice that?

Does anyone know of any good websites that have a lot of information on Star Trek technology? I don't own a book that I can refer to, so I'm constantly searching for websites with information that I can use when I'm not familiar with something, and some of the websites can be contradictory or not include all of the information I'm looking for, so if anyone knows of any good reference sites, let me know. I'd appreciate it.
