Popular Post IsKah Posted September 19 Popular Post Posted September 19 The perspective written here by @Serala brought back memories of my reaction to being told that I had a Dad now at about the same age. Quote (( Gomez-Davis Villa, Bogotá, Colombia )) T’Saara was bored. Again. She was missing her mother terribly and now Jorin was gone too. Aunt Maria was nice enough, but it just wasn’t the same. Especially since the day the voices came. T’Saara had never known her father, but he had been three-quarters Vulcan and one-quarter Betazoid. T’Saara was really too young to understand, but she’d inherited her father’s gift of empathy and touch telepathy. It was something she had been using even as an infant. But since it all seemed natural to her, she’d never asked her mother about it. It just was what it was. But now she was afraid of it. A few days ago, while she was playing with her cousins, T’Saara had heard some voices in her head telling her to do some things she knew were bad. She tried to fight it, but it was hard. Mother would never understand if she did those things, and she really needed to make her mother proud of her. So, she resisted those voices. But the things she heard had frightened her terribly, and she was having nightmares now. She just wished ri’ranov would come home. Or Jorin. He always brought soah with him and she loved the little chocolates. She was secretly hoping that he would be her new daddy someday since hers had died before she was born. She missed having a daddy. All of her friends had daddies, but not her. But she had always had good men around her. Especially Captain Kitty. He was so fuzzy and nice, and she really liked him. But Jorin was the best. He treated mommy really nice and she really hoped he could be her new daddy. But right now, she was bored. Her cousins were off with Aunt Maria doing something, and T’Saara - Bean, as her mother called her even though she really didn’t like that name - was left with the housekeeping staff for a time. With nothing to do, she had taken to walking the halls of the manor. She’d explored several rooms when she heard the downstairs door open and closed. Thinking Aunt Maria was back, she decided she had best leave her exploring for another time. Instead she headed downstairs to see what fun things her aunt may have brought back with her. As she reached the bottom of the curved, bifurcated staircase, she saw someone else entirely. T’Saara: Mommy!!! Bean took off at a run, bounding down the last remaining steps two at a time and dashing across the foyer to leap into her mother’s arms. She was just about to jump when she realized her mother was holding two babies, one in each arm, and skidded to a stop instead, wrapping her tiny arms around her mother’s waist and squeezing for all her might. Serala: :: chuckling :: Hello Bean. I am so glad to see you. T’Saara: Mommy, you had your babies?! Her mother nodded with a big smile and kneeled down carefully to allow the four-year old to get a better look at her new brothers. Serala: Meet your brothers, T’Saara. This one is Terron :: her mother lifted the one in her right arm slightly, then switched arms :: and this one is Vaebn. T’Saara couldn’t believe it. Two brothers! How did she get so lucky? She always thought she’d be an only child because daddy had died, and now she had not only one, but two brothers. She made up her mind in that moment that she was going to be the best big sister ever in the whole wide universe. T’Saara: Ihirkhlinae rhanam paeti hwio, Terron u’Vaebn. ((It is my honor to meet you, Terron and Vaebn. [Formal])) Her mother seemed to be surprised by the formal greeting of her brothers, but Serala had been teaching her duty and honor since she could remember, and this was one duty she was going to take seriously. Serala: You don’t need to be so formal, Bean. They’re your brothers. T’Saara looked at her mother almost defiantly. T’Saara: I told you don’t call me that, mommy. I don’t like it. And I wanted to be formal. They are my brothers and it is my duty to be the bestest big sister ever. Serala: :: smiling almost proudly :: You truly are your mother’s daughter, aren’t you? And I am sorry. I forgot you don’t like being called Bean. But habits are hard to break and you will always be my little bean. You can thank your Aunt Ishka for that when you meet her in a few weeks. oO Meet her in a few weeks? Is Tia Ishka and Tio Toryn coming here? Oo T’Saara: You mean they are coming here? Serala: I certainly hope so. Otherwise they’re going to miss my wedding. That floored T’Saara and she had no words to say. Instead, she started crying. They were happy tears, but the noise seemed to cause the babies to start crying also. Serala: What’s wrong, Be– T’Saara? T’Saara: :: through tears and wracking sobs :: You’re– You’re getting … married! I’m going to … have a daddy … like everyone else. That last statement caused her to start crying even harder and her mother, hands full of babies, still managed to find a way to wrap her in an embrace. Serala: I’m so sorry, T’Saara. I had no idea you missed having a daddy so much. But yes, you will have a daddy now. T’Saara: Is– Is it … Is he Jorin? Is Jorin going to be my new daddy? Her mother gave her the biggest smile and nodded, her own tears forming at the corner of her eyes. Serala: Yes, khiilal hwi. It is Jorin. T’Saara burst into tears once more, this time unable to contain them. She’d wanted a daddy for so long, and now she was going to have one. And it was Jorin who she always wanted to be her daddy anyway. This was the bestest day ever. -- PNPC T'Saara Daughter of Serala 4 1 Quote
