+ LuxaLorana Posted August 23 Posted August 23 @Cecil has demonstrated why all our characters are insane for joining Starfleet! Great SIM! Quote (( FOP Warrior Sports, Commercial Sector, Beta Module )) Join Starfleet, they said. It’ll be fun, they said. He winced as he pulled a sharp piece of shrapnel from his forearm. Join Starfleet, they said. Explore the universe, they said. With one hand over his wound, he used the other to click open the first aid kit. Join Starfleet, they said. Discover new civilizations, they said. The kit mostly raided, he looked through the remaining supplies and pulled out a small laser scalpel and held it between his teeth as he closed the kit. Join Starfleet, they said. Develop your skills, they said. Taking his hand from the wound, he bunched up his uniform at the shoulder and used the laser scalpel to slice into the folded fabric, creating a hole. Join Starfleet, they said. Be part of a diverse team, they said. Putting two fingers into the hole, he pulled hard and ripped down the shoulder seam, effectively removing the sleeve and exposing his arm. Join Starfleet, they said. Be at the cutting edge of science, they said. Plopping down the scalpel, he began to wrap the sleeve around his arm like a tourniquet. Join Starfleet, they said. Shape the future, they said. The fabric in place, he tightened it with a groan of pain using his free hand and his teeth. Join Starfleet, they said. Fight to protect, they said. He smiled despite himself. Guess that one was as advertised today. His makeshift medical treatment complete, he looked up to the approaching Commander. Raga: They’ve taken over half of the station, but no key areas yet thankfully. We’re still cut off from the Gamma module, Epsilon, Prophet, and Zeta teams are still holding but barely. Chief, any word from the units sent to break through? Kiran: Response Cecil listened contently. The horrors of the invasion continue to rage on and one of the worst parts was not knowing the full scope. Raga: Damn, alright. We need to break through for the sake of the wounded. ::He turned to regard T’Fearne:: Ensign, were you able to confirm whether or not the Alliance has set up their own FOP in the Observatory in Alpha Module? T’Fearne: Response Raga: Well, that’s something at least. We’ll have to see what personnel we can direct towards that. ::To Valo:: Were you able to redeploy those force field emitters to the breach points in the promenade? Valo: Emitters are set, Commander. Hopefully they buy us some time. Raga: Understood. Breeze, what’s your assessment of their position? Do you think we can counter assault their forward foothold and push them back out of the promenade? Briza-Kar: Response Cecil took a sip from a small canteen draped over his shoulder. The cold water was a gift as the heat continued to rise. He wiped sweat from his brow and listened as a communication came through. Singh: =/\= Snowball to Raga...we're targeting the boarding craft nearest your location. Advise you to keep your heads down, decompression warning. Twenty seconds to strike. =/\= Raga: =/\= Raga here, Snowball. Please do, it’s bad enough they’re beaming in whenever the shield’s buckle. We had to give up on Docking Port two hours ago. When you’re done with that, think you could hit the airlock near the Mebay on the Gamma module? We can’t break through because they keep reinforcing their lines there from that airlock. =/\= Singh: =/\= Understood Commander, we'll make that our secondary target. Larger Alliance vessels are keeping a perimeter and they're trying to attrition down the stations defenses. We've lost fifteen percent of our fighters and several runabouts but we've knocked down at least five times that number. They just keep coming and we're running low on ordinance. =/\= Raga: =/\= Copy that, Snowball. I owe you and all your pilots ice cream and drinks when this is over. =/\= ::He quickly tapped the LCARs in front of him for a station wide alert. =/\= Raga to all hands, incoming friendly strike on Docking Port 2, brace for impact and decompression. Ten seconds. =/\= A curse came through the line and Cecil kept a tight expression, the weight of the situation wasn’t lost on him. He wondered how many fighters fifteen percent was. There would be a lot of mourning here if they pulled off a victory. No, not if. When. He picked his weapon back up and gripped it, ready for whatever was next. Singh: =/\= Snowball copies, strike inbound. =/\= Cecil felt the jolt of the station, the most welcome shaking of the facility he had felt thus far. Singh: =/\= Good shooting Scuttles. Snowball to Raga, target destroyed. They won't be using that airlock again. What's your status? =/\= Raga: =/\= We’re in one piece, but we’re getting hit hard here. The Alliance has taken half the station, but nothing critical yet. Keep up the good work. We just need a little more time. Our ship is coming and when they do I expect you and yours to raise hell with them. =/\= Singh: =/\= Response =/\= Raga: =/\= Understood, Raga out. =/\= ::He looked at those around him:: Everyone alright? Valo: Good to go. ::He rolled his shoulder, showcasing the use of his arm:: It’s just a scratch. Breeze/T’Fearne/Kiran: Response Raga: Good, hopefully that will reduce the reinforcements they can reinforce with… He felt it just before he heard it. A roar from just outside their perimeter warned them to the chaos that was coming. Weapon fire lit up a new battleground, the Alliance was back for more. Raga: Dammit, to the barricades. Cecil ran in pace with Raga as he charged toward the door. Weapon up and ready. Breeze/T’Fearne/Kiran: Response Moving hastily across the upper balcony, Cecil took up a position behind a barricade and surveyed the battlefield. A mass of Tholians and Sheliak were driving hard to take the junction. Raga: Hold the line!!! ::He shouted while opening fire on the front ranks:: They’re not breaking through. The Betazoid was not a man of many words as he worked to bring truth to the Commander’s statement, alternating between cover and targeted blasts into the enemy. He smiled as a heavy phaser cannon came to life and blasted the enemy's front line. Breeze/T’Fearne/Kiran: Response The Betazoid watched Raga take down a Sheliak and then a Tholian with a calm and resolute determination. He let a bit of that soak in and he blasted at one of the Tholians distracted by their downed companion. He swore under his breath as a rumble of impact shifted his aim, hitting the combatant in the leg and only slowing it. Raga: Don’t let them get to the upper level! As if in response Cecil spotted a Tholian climbing his way up one end of the balcony. He sprinted to meet it, firing his weapon as he moved. His weapon built for heavy impact at short range, it took devastating damage to its front two appendages and fell. He noted another climber on the other side but there was no way he could get there in time. Valo: Another climber on our nine! Breeze/T’Fearne/Kiran: Response There was no way they could keep doing this. Dripping in sweat from the temperature alone he wasn’t sure if he would drop first from weapon fire or heat exhaustion. Valo: We have to find a way to slow them down! Breeze/T’Fearne/Kiran/Rage: Response Blasting another climber, he connected with its center torso with enough force to drop it. The resulting explosion did nothing to the other Tholians around it, but one of the Sheliak took the full brunt and was thrown several feet. Valo: oO Cool Oo Cool…That sparked an idea. The environmental controls had been mentioned and would have been a choice destination, had they the time and resources to get there. Of course, with the temperature rising, he suspected the enemy already had that system locked down. Valo: I’m no engineer, but if these guys like it hot, our fire suppression systems are likely to at the very least make them uncomfortable. Is there a way we can trigger them indirectly? Breeze/T’Fearne/Kiran/Rage: Response Ensign Cecil Valo Security Officer USS Ronin C239205AF0 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "USS Ronin – StarBase 118 Star Trek PBEM RPG" group.
