I have been absolutely loving the sims coming from our new bunch of drones!! And this one from @Gila Sadar just hits the spot for me! Excellent!

To Xandeus Filistrien, Petty Officer Third Class and Signals Analyst of the USS Artemis-A, the notion of working in an Intelligence Hub had been a point of pride. His skills - meager as they were - had assisted in keeping the Ship and her crew safe, and helped filter through the background noise of the universe to give the Federation a greater grasp on the volatile machinations of the intergalactic underbelly… Now, the Intelligence Hub was a massacre, a scene of the utmost treason and travesty, and it was his fault. Well, not entirely his fault, but he’d certainly played his part.

 

Four of Six - the Drone that was once Filistrien - observed as the assimilated succeeded in assuming full control of the Intelligence Hub, the final ones of the unassimilated neutralized and all the computers locked down. Information disseminated through the Collective told them all that the unit on the Bridge had succeeded in entirely ousting the unassimilated, with Dakora of MacKenzie and Richards of Rahman forced into an auxiliary room.

 

MacKenzie of MacKenzie, however, had accomplished evasion, and was still on the loose.

 

One of Fifteen: * Eliminate unassimilated. Priority targets, ranking officers. Directive overruled. Unit Fifteen, locate and intercept Artemis Captain, MacKenzie. *

 

The harmonic frequency connecting Four of Six to all of the Collective teemed with similar responses, though some were granted greater import than others by virtue of the Queen’s interest. Eleven of Fifteen marched out of the Intelligence Suite, heading to join the remainder of the Fifteens in their hunt.

 

Three of Five (Stapledon): * Door servo control panel.  Mid height, behind protective bulkhead.  Apply laser scalpel 0.78 meters above deck. *

 

Indefatigable Drone: * Collective... we have the Indefatigable. *

 

Astraeus Drone: * Reevaluating directives: Analyzing possible exfiltration methods. *

 

Magellan Drone: * Collective… we have the Magellan. *

 

One of Eleven (Barberra): * Collective... we have the Kitty Hawk. *

 

By the second, more and more of the Federation’s Fleet was falling under the control of the Collective, and the Queen’s satisfaction was disseminated to each Drone. Meanwhile, the Drones aboard the Artemis-A were continuously updating their collective assignments. The failure to eliminate Hopper of Rahman was unfortunate. An error that had to be rectified before the data from Amity Outpost could be used against the Collective.

 

One of Seven: * Directive overruled. Unit Seven, regain control of Security Center. Eliminate unassimilated. *

 

One of Six: * Directive overruled. Unit Six, maintain control of Intelligence Suite. Eliminate unassimilated. *

 

Four of Six paused - a pause that lasted for .15 seconds - but a pause that was noticeable to the Collective.

 

Four of Six (Filistrien): New Directive: Maintain control of Intelligence Suite. We are the Borg.

 

Moments passed as the Drones within the Intelligence Suite coordinated their efforts to most securely lockdown the sizable hub. Perusing the collective memories of the Intelligence personnel currently in the Artemis’ corner of the Collective, three separate access hatches to the Jeffries’ Tubes and two noted structural weaknesses (comparatively) were identified, and the Drones started moving accordingly. This was when the door was accessed, and as the person arriving did not register as one of the Collective, all present Drones turned to face them.

 

Four of Six (Filistrien): * Savel of MacKenzie, Security Officer, Vulcan, unqualified for assimilation. *

 

Savel: I see coming here was an error. I'll be leaving now.

 

All Drones in unison: Eliminate the unassimilated.

 

Four of Six (Filistrien): Resistance is futile.

 

Two & Three of Six (101 & 001): We are Borg.

 

One of Six: * Two of Six and Three of Six, reinforce Intelligence. Four of Six, Five of Six, Six of Six, engage. Eliminate the unassimilated. *

 

Four of Six (Filistrien): We are Borg.

 

Obeying their new directive, Four of Six accompanied two other Drones into the hallway, all collectively raising their firearms to prepare for combat.

 

Savel: =/\= ::whilst runnin'::-iple casualties and hostiles present. =/\=

 

Using auditory inputs, the Drones accurately pinpoint the location of Savel of MacKenzie, moments before a phaser blast impacted Five of Six’s left arm. The impacted Drone took notice immediately, but disregarded the injury, as it was considered a negligible risk to their function, and instead resumed their trajectory, marching in tandem towards the corner concealing Savel of MacKenzie, firing their phasers in a disjointed rhythm, so that the unassimilated Security Officer would have limited room to peek out from cover.

 

Delri’ise: =/\= On—on my way, what’s your location? =/\=

 

Four of Six (Filistrien): * Reinforcement of unassimilated imminent. Additional Collective attention to Deck 8, Sector 7 requested. *

 

Six of Six: Resistance is futile. We are Borg.

 

Savel: Response

 

Delri’ise: =/\= Hold tight… I’m just around the corner =/\=

 

The three Drones were now approaching the corner where Savel of MacKenzie was holed up, when an errant shot managed to impact Six of Six phaser, sending the weapon careening down the hallway, and leaving the Drone unarmed to intercept the unassimilated.

 

Savel/Delri’ise: Response

 

Four of Six (Filistrien): Eliminate the unassimilated.

 

Noting the recent arrival, Four of Six reevaluated their tactical position from the collective memories of the Artemis drones. As the information fed back to it through the Collective of Seven of Fourteen’s final moments, the recesses of Xandeus Filistrien’s mind cheered for LtJG Delri’ise’s accomplishment. That, however, was soon cut short.

 

Five of Six: * We will adapt. *

 

Four of Six (Filistrien): * Delri’ise of MacKenzie, Security Officer, Argelian/Kerelian Hybrid. Responsible for termination of Seven of Fourteen. Avoid skin contact. *

 

Six of Six: Eliminate the unassimilated. Resistance is futile.

 

Six of Six attempted to latch onto Savel of MacKenzie, restrain him so that he might be incapacitated, while Five of Six and Four of Six aimed their phasers at the approaching Delri’ise of MacKenzie, releasing numerous blasts in her direction.

 

Savel/Delri’ise: Response

 

Five of Nine: * Five of Nine, Six of Nine, Nine of Nine, redirect. Reinforce Deck 8, Sector 7. Eliminate the unassimilated. *

 

Reinforcement was not far now. It would not be long before One of Eight could report successful takeover of the Artemis-A to the Collective.
