StarBase 118 Staff Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 STARBASE 104 — The court-martial of Fleet Captain Jalana Rajel begins as life returns to normal for the Constitution crew. Formal court-martial hearings began aboard Starbase 104 for Rajel of the USS Constitution (NCC 9012-B). Facing eleven charges of violating General Orders 1, 15, 16, 19, 21, and 29 of the Starfleet Charter, Rajel pleaded not guilty to all. After opening statements were read, the prosecution began their case calling on members of Rajel’s crew to testify to her character. Meanwhile, aboard the Constitution, the crew began the slow, difficult, return to a sense of normal with their leader facing legal action. After briefing from their acting commanding officer, Cmdr. Alex Blair, about Rajel’s trial, the crew was left to their volitions on how to spend their time. While a small team set about doing some research for Rajel’s defense lawyer, LtCmdr. Aria Maddox, Blair called the newly named second officer, LtCmdr. Edward Spears to his office. There the two discussed different options to bring the crew together and to improve morale, while also welcoming aboard a new exchange officer, Senior Commander Nugra of the Gorn Federation. In other areas of the ship, crewmembers met for various activities both on the Constitution and the Starbase. From dining excursions to dates, to one of a kind adventures for two holographic members of the Constitution crew, everyone found something to occupy their time and keep their minds off of what was happening to Rajel. “It’s really weird,” said Crewman Arthur Bowman of the Science department, when asked. “We all know what’s going on, and we all have differing opinions about it, but none of us wants to talk about the Captain’s trial. It’s like one of your family members being accused of something. You may or may not agree, but one thing’s for sure, no one wants to hear about it.” More news on this as it develops.
