StarBase 118 Staff Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 EARTH, SOL SECTOR — After an attack on Earth, the StarBase 118 Ops support ship, USS Narendra, set their sights on shore leave as a wave of officers joined the crew. The Narendra remained in orbit around Earth after a disastrous situation involving hostages and injuries rumoured to be from a Klingon cult seeking to return the Klingon Empire to pre-Federation era. Starfleet Command took over the investigation and clean-up, leaving the crew to delve into some much-needed rest and relaxation. As Earth wasn’t a regular destination for the crew, many found themselves booked from beginning to end visiting with family and friends. A generous group of officers joined the crew during the downtime. Fleet Captain Sal Taybrim is pleased to welcome Ensign T’Pam to Engineering, Ensign Dar Toral and Lieutenant (Junior Grade) Rebecca Owens as security officers, as well as Ensign Kteer who joined towards the end of the mission and is assigned to Science. Unfortunately, Lieutenant Commander Gogigobo Fairhug, who suffered an injury during the mission, has a long road of recovery ahead of him and so, Lieutenant Commander Nijil has taken up the position, having recently returned from a long medical-related mission. “I am always excited to welcome new officers on board,” explained Taybrim, taking a well-needed break from duty. “Fresh minds and new perspectives help shape the course of the Trinity Sector.” Shore leave started with a bang. Lieutenant Commander German Galven took Ensign Karen Stendhal and Lieutenant JG Dante Termine on a wild ride, transporting onto the beaches of the Maldives. Termine was quick to realize that someone stranded them on a different island, but then found out they were being sent back in time each passing minute. Little did he and Stendhal know, it was all a good-natured hoax by Galven and the product of a temporal program in the holodeck. They enjoyed a good laugh after the big reveal and continued with their leave. “It was a harmless science experiment,” Galven said as he laughed. “How often do you get to encounter pirates, the Spanish inquisition, and dinosaurs all in one day? People nowadays need to know their history.” Meanwhile, Lieutenant Solaris McLaren made plans with Taybrim to gather the crew for food, drinks and ceremony at her family’s pub in Ireland. This was after McLaren spent a long night out with Lieutenant JG Malko and Lieutenant Commander Rustyy Hael. The trio spent the evening swapping stories and fun secrets out at the Golden Gate Bar. The crew gathered as a whole in Belfast, Ireland; a perfect place to reconnect, greet the new officers and have one final moment to relax before they shipped back to their home on board the Ambassador-class starship.
