StarBase 118 Staff
EARTH, SOLAR SYSTEM — Ensuing a gruelling mission against the Orion Syndicate, the USS Gorkon (NCC-82293) has returned to Earth for well-needed shore leave and a well-anticipated wedding. Across Earth and the Sol System, home of the human species, the USS Gorkon (NCC-82293) crew has made their presence known. Activities ranged from relaxing with friends, escaping to homes for many of the human crew, and reports of a dungeon-type roleplaying game taking place in the large holoarenas of New Zealand. Mars has seen an increase in visitation since the arrival of the flagship of the Tyrellian Defence and Exploration Taskforce, and a reported uptick in those wishing to partake in tours of the outer planets. Civilian transport tour operators delighted in showing off the system, steering away from the coordinators of the soon to take place Sol Regatta. Won by the Gorkon’s Helmsman, Lieutenant JG Ghant Xerix. The team took part on board the Helmsman’s yacht The Celestial, coming first in the race. However, the showstopper for the Gorkon crew was the most anticipated wedding of the decade. Rear Admiral Quinn Reynolds and Captain Walter Brunsig of the USS Triumphant (NCC-75692) married to much fanfare and celebration at Reichsburg Cochem in Germany, the home country of the Brunsig family. The ceremony was small and intimate, limited to close friends and family. “She did look incredible,” the executive officer, Lieutenant Commander Jo Marshall was overheard to say. “I mean, Walter did too, and smelled like burnt wood as always, but Quinn looked smashing. She had the dress made for her in Paris. Here’s to the happy couple!” Wearing a dress designed by the Parisian couturier and fashion house of Marchionne, the Admiral dazzled and shone in a beautiful gown of shimmering silver and sky blue, embroidered and beaded in flowers from both her homeworld of Mars and that of her husband’s on Earth. In contrast, Brunsig wore a striking navy blue three-piece suit and dove grey tie. The reception took place in the grounds of Reichsburg Cochem, the Imperial Castle of Cochem over the Mosel River valley, opened to the senior officers of the Gorkon and select friends of the groom from the Triumphant. Attended by those in their finery, gowns and suits were the dress for the occasion. Included among the guests were several Betazoid attendees, with some murmurings surrounding the differences between indulgent ceremonies on Earth and Betazed. “They look happy, don’t they?” Commented Lieutenant Commander Caedan Nkai, recently stepped down the second officer of the Gorkon. “We all just want someone to love, Admiral or Crewman. And there’s a lot to be said for the boss being in a good mood.” The Federation News Service would like to take this opportunity to wish the Rear Admiral and Captain the greatest luck for the future.
