Warp XV Engine Test Goes Awry, Strands USS Eagle

UNKNOWN LOCATION – While conducting a test of the prototype Warp XV warp core and its support equipment, the USS Eagle (NCC-74659) suffered multiple systems failures and became stranded in an unfamiliar area of space.

After an eventful shore leave at Starbase 281, during which time the ship underwent several substantial upgrades and improvements to its propulsion and deflector systems, the Eagle departed and began a trial run of the new components. Recent breakthroughs in both technological fields necessitated a field test. In this case, one of the leaders of these breakthroughs, Captain Oddas Aria, was chosen to preside over the exercise.

Unfortunately, seconds after achieving the historic landmark of reaching Warp 11 intentionally while utilizing a standard matter-antimatter warp drive, systems onboard began to fail, and the Eagle found itself unable to sustain its speed. As the ship slowed, it quickly became apparent that the crew had entered a strange realm that contained unusual physical properties. Despite having chosen a course that was well clear of any astronomical bodies for light-years, sensors detected a stellar body that began to draw the ship closer. To avoid a collision, blue alert was ordered, and the Eagle landed on the unstable surface.

“I’ve never been on a starship that landed less than a minute after exiting warp,” stated Crewman Bleshbin Vem, a Rigelian serving in the ship’s science departments.

Meanwhile, an alien vessel of vaguely familiar design appeared. Despite the Eagle transmitting peaceful intentions, she was boarded by hostile forces. With turbolifts, transporters and communications down all over the ship, mounting a defense proved troublesome.

As the bridge scrambled to find answers to their predicament, the engineering issues were of paramount importance throughout the rest of the vessel. Multiple difficulties, including inexplicable power failures and profound interference, demanded immediate attention.

Amidst this remarkable conglomeration of events, security personnel, still attempting to repel the alien incursion, located a stowaway- specifically, a twelve-year-old human female. Despite the irregularity of this occurrence and the obvious questions that follow such a discovery, the matters mentioned previously have taken appropriate priority.

This story is developing.
