StarBase 118 Staff Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 The Captains Council is pleased to announce that Evan Delano, Operations Officer and Second Officer of the USS Veritas, has been promoted to the rank of Commander! Commander Delano joined the fleet in 2013 and started aboard the USS Tiger-A as a security officer and later became chief of security. He then served aboard the USS Garuda and the USS Invicta before coming to the USS Veritas. Besides serving on the command staff and as a mentor aboard Veritas, he is an academy instructor on the Training Team, an editor for the Federation News Service team, and a member of the Department of Veterans Affairs and Advanced Starship Design Bureau teams. Commander Delano has been recognized for both his simming and writing and his contributions out of character. He’s been awarded numerous times, including the Order of Starfleet Merit and Achievement, Sheathed Sword, Nebula Bar, and the Khan Award. He was a runner-up in the Writing Challenge, a Top Sims judge, and a Featured Bio winner. The promotion to the rank of commander is a joyous occasion in our community – the result of years of writing, mentoring, and learning the ropes. The multi-step process in a promotion to Commander starts with a nomination from two members of the fleet at or above the rank of Commander, followed by an initial vote from the Captains Council to allow the examination process to begin. Then, the member must pass both a written exam, and a practical exam. Finally, another vote by the Captains Council confirms the promotion. Candidates must show that they have great simming skills, strong knowledge of Star Trek, and the foundations of leadership and teaching skills. Head to the forums now to congratulate Commander Delano on his well-earned promotion! The post Evan Delano promoted to Commander appeared first on UFOP: StarBase 118 Star Trek RPG.
