StarBase 118 Staff Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 The Executive Council of UFOP: StarBase 118 is pleased to announce that Theo Whittaker has completed the requirements for promotion to the rank of captain! Whittaker is currently the commanding officer of the Andaris Task Force in the Par’tha Expanse, which includes the the Olympic class USS Blackwell, the Defiant class USS El Corazón and the Horizon class USS Darwin-A. Before this, he served as the First Officer to Captain Sal Taybrim on StarBase 118 Ops. He got his start in Starfleet as an engineering officer aboard the USS Columbia and has been with our community since 2015. The writer behind Whittaker has been decorated with the B-Plot, Khan, and TOSMA awards for his creativity. And while on his way to promotion, he was a member of the Academy Training Team, where he was known as a stellar training officer. This multi-step process starts with nomination from two members of the fleet at or above the rank of Commander, an initial vote from the Executive Council followed by a written exam, a practical exam, an interview with the Executive Council, and a final vote from the Executive Council. Candidates must show that they have mastery of the art of leadership, a strong knowledge of Star Trek, the ability to teach, and great simming skills.
