StarBase 118 Staff
RAYTAS SECTOR – The USS Athena faced-off against a ruthless Black Sentinel agent attempting to destroy Station 9, the Athena itself, and her away team. The Dryary Confederation’s “Uplifting Protocol” – once an unchallenged policy that conferred technological advancement on specially selected species – has sparked violent conflict, with an organization named the “Natural Order” declaring war on the protocol. Having threatened to destroy associated government facilities and vessels, Usah Romani – leader of the Natural Order – has issued an ultimatum: Halt the protocol or devastation will be the grisly result. Starfleet’s USS Athena, commanded by Captain Selene Faranfey, has led the counter-terrorism task force seeking to put an end to the violence. While dead-ends have frustrated the Athena crew of late, a signal detected on Protocol Station 9 led the crew into another Natural Order trap, fighting – and eventually solving – a puzzling network virus with the help of Athena’s Cmdr. Sabrina Holly, and Chief Engineer Cassandra Ezi. “We’ve only been out here a couple months, and we’re already shoring up enemies,” said Ensign Lilly Sterson. Continuing their efforts to fight these violent extremists, the Athena crew met face-to-face with Mevon Skane, also known as Black Sentinel, who demanded the Athena’s surrender after murdering the station’s senior officers and taking charge of the station’s command center. After a harrowing escape, the Athena crew disabled their adversary with an EMP blast, forcing them to withdraw and disrupting the station’s systems – but not before Skane was able to start the station’s self-destruct sequence and escape. The Athena crew’s last report had them scrambling to stop the self-destruct and save the Dryary station and crew from obliteration. More reports will be posted as they become available.
