Poll of the Week — Tea: Earl Grey, Hot!

It has been a scorcher this week where I live. As such, I have been looking for ways to cool off in my free time. The other day, I went into a local coffee bar and decided to get myself a drink to do just that. At the counter, the person in front of me ordered a tea, turned to me and said that a nice, hot tea actually cools him down. When my turn came up to choose what to have, I tried the same and ordered a tea. Then I had to choose.

I am not a tea drinker and apparently there are quite a few choices when it comes to tea. Instead of pondering, I decided to go with what I know. I chose the Earl Grey tea.

As I sat sipping on the tea, I realized why I chose that tea. It was the first one that came to mind from my days of watching The Next Generation as it was also Captain Picard’s favorite beverage. I smiled to myself wondering how many other things I chose based upon influences from pop culture and was certain it was quite a bit, and to tell you the truth, I am not a big fan of Earl Grey tea.
