USS Blackwell crew transfers to USS Columbia

Recommended Posts

DEEP SPACE 26 — With the events of P-409 Sigma now behind them, the crew of the USS Blackwell enjoyed some much-needed downtime.

If the old saying “a change is as good as a rest” is true, then the crew of the USS Blackwell (NCC-58999) are sure to be well-rested after their current shore leave. A large reception was hosted aboard Deep Space 26 by the crew of the Blackwell, which was attended by several high ranking Starfleet officers, including RAdml. Renos, Capt. Brell of the USS Atlantis (NCC-74682) and Capt. Sal Taybrim of StarBase 118, along with a delegation from the starbase.

As can be imagined, with so many senior personnel in attendance, it was no ordinary reception. During the evening, Taybrim took to the stage for an important announcement – the promotion of Theo Whittaker to Captain, and those gathered wished Capt. Whittaker every success and congratulations on his promotion.

More surprises were in store that evening, including the announcement that the crew of the Blackwell were being transferred to the USS Columbia (NCC-85279), although it is not yet be announced whether the Columbia will remain within the Par’tha Expanse.

The rest of shore leave remained mostly uneventful, with the majority of the crew opting to sample the delights of Deep Space 26, including the famed Nova Room.

Additionally, the transfer to the Columbia has also seen a change in the ship’s senior staff, including the arrival of Ens. Pholin Duyzer who joins the ship as it’s newest science officer, and the promotion of LtCmdr. Jarred Thoran to the position of First Officer, who will be replaced as Chief of Security by the newly arrived Lt Cmdr. Tatash. The counselling department has also undergone changes, with Ens. Hal Mika receiving a promotion to Lt. JG and Lt. Cmdr. Rune Jolara being appointed Director of Behavioural Sciences.

Much fervour has surrounded the Columbia, which is to be commanded by Whittaker, himself a former Chief Engineer aboard the ship. The FNS managed to catch up with Lt. Adrame, an Operations officer aboard the Columbia.

“It’s busy. Very busy,” Adrame exclaimed, happily. “But I and the crew are very excited for the future of the Columbia. I think the ship’s motto ‘There are always possibilities’ is very apt for us.”
