That whole sim made me miss my 20's.

Hopefully you didn't meet any time traveling versions of yourself back then 😂

(Then again maybe that would have been interesting...)

Willow: Be kind, you never know the battle someone else is facing.

Kind words and platitudes were her go to in times of trouble, tension and discourse. It kept her calm, still and steady. She could only wish it did the same for others, rather than become annoying and trifling.

Poor Willow!  She’s doing her best and her wards are just not having it!

McLaren: I've never defused a bomb before... set a couple once... but never diffused. Anyone else?

Renot: Actually… I do. Funnily enough.

How many freshly promoted Junior Lieutenants can say they’ve defused a high yield Terra Prime bomb? Not many except himself, he reckoned.

Tito/Blackwell/McLaren: ?

Renot: I wouldn’t say I’m an expert per say… I just dealt with a 15 kilogram tricobalt bomb on my first mission.

That's all.  No big deal.

Not everyday do you get a massive, angry Bajoran surgeon running at you armed and looking like he wants to make his next cup of coffee with your blood.

That would be quite the cup of coffee...

Arys just glares at people spitefully and hopes they fall own the stairs. Zumagi knocks them out and THROWS them down the stairs. Thank you for defending my sickbay @EgilRenot ❤️

Nniol: Get off me!

Zumagi: Make me.

So he made him.

Nniol used the handle of the knife, driving it hard into Ivin’s solar plexus. Ivin let out a grunt of pain, but didn’t buckle or falter. He didn’t let it affect him at all. He moved quickly, figuring a stab would be coming shortly after. Ivin was surprisingly fast for such a large man, thanks to a small handful of boxing championship titles.

Nniol: damn you…

Ivin bore down heavily on Nniol, swinging punches and aiming kicks at him. He was hell unleashed, like a berserker from ancient human tales. The assassin spun away and tried to shoot at Ivin once again but Ivin blocked his arm with his own, snarling his next wounds.

Zumagi: Get out of my sight, kasvak.

Ivin wound back and aimed a sharp and harsh kick towards Nniol’s chest, sending the other reeling backwards and away from himself. Ivin lifted his phaser and pointed it right at Nniol’s head with an almost deranged and feral look in his eyes.

The assassin was nearly as deranged if not even more so. He lifted his knife and licked the blood off the blade. Ivin was not intimidated or daunted. Hell, Ivin has the exact same thing far in his past.

Tachyons surged around them.

For a moment the fight replayed as time folded in on itself.  It was déjà vu, except it really did replay.  The moves were slightly different as the two opponents now could predict the moves of the other, having seen them before. Ivin saw all these moves before and reacted with the same ferocity as he was before. He had no idea what was happening, but protecting Foster and the Praetor were his priority.

More shots were fired.

Someone screamed.

And finally, time righted itself as Nniol licked the blade once again.

There was an unpleasantly disorienting static POP and the assassin was sucked back into the same strange time anomaly that deposited him into Trauma Bay 8.

The silence and the confusion was disturbed by Ivin roaring out loudly.

Zumagi: I’m not done with you, bastard! Get back here!

J'Lynn: Look at me, Havran. What do you see?

He was a young and passionate woman. One who believed what she said. One who, no matter the future of their separate worlds, was sure to lead hers to a future they sought.

s’Rehu: I don't know you. Tell me what I see.

J’Lynn: I am the daughter of a politician. A good man. Under the Empire, our family was unremarkable. We were lucky enough to not be impoverished, but we were kept in our place.

s’Rehu: And now?

J’Lynn: If things had remained the way they were, you and I would likely never have met. I certainly would not have dared speak to you the way I have today.

That much was true. No one outside his caste had ever dared even show that much force of character lest they face punishment. But her...she was not afraid, that much he saw on his own.

s’Rehu: And what does the Free State not offer you that the Republic does that allows you to do just that?

J’Lynn: In the Republic, I have a chance. A chance to grow, to make a difference. To speak without fear of reprisals against me or my family. Not just me, we all do. That is what we truly want and we want all of you to have it too. To share it with us. A better, happier future, where fear really is just a ghost story. All of the Rihannsu. United. Together.

Havran sat, seemingly emotionless. But inside, something about what J'Lynn had said moved him. It wasn't just the words she spoke, but how she spoke them. With honesty and candor. Coming from a world where no one said what they meant, this interaction was near foreign but believable.

Sera:  ::looking behind s’Rehu to the two security officers::  Then consider it an order.  When the axe drops, it will take my head, not yours.  That is my expectation on this, Ensigns, do you understand?  We are going to help.

Trovek: I know you well enough to know you wouldn't be calling upon some
random doctor for help when we have the sector's best working in my
sickbay. ::she said carefully:: Is there something going on which I
should be aware of?

Alora’s lips thinned into a line.  There was no one she had spoken to
about what had happened before the talks had been moved up, nor had she
revealed the truth of Kalin.  Casting a sidelong glance to the chief
medical officer, she wondered if it was a good time to share such
details.  They were dealing with a crisis - more than one, truth be told.

DeVeau: It’s…complicated.

They're gonna write "It's complicated" on all of our tombstones 😂

Under the rubble was a romulan gentleman, shaking and coughing in fear… oh the fear in his eyes, the terror of what can be simply described as madness…

Loved this comparison!

Sera too set to work, pulling away pieces of rubble.  It required teamwork to ensure the safety of each other, as well as much of the debris was too heavy to move alone.  This exercise had turned into some sort of macabre team building episode.

Worst. Team building exercise. Ever! 🤣 @Sera

Greaves: Can we get a site-to-site back to Security?

Green: That would be too easy. ::Sarcasm seeping through in the tone of his voice::

Aine's lips pursed slightly at Lieutenant Green's comment. Not because of the sarcasm, but because he was absolutely right. So right, he ought to be named Murphy.

Renot: Very good points, better safe than sorry. I dunno about you guys, but I’d rather not be shot up mid disarming and accidentally blow us all up. ::pause:: that’s not good on the resume.

From the very first moment than Kalin had found himself jumped to a Stardate only a few years after his ‘passing’, he had felt a curious undercurrent to the joy he felt. He had, before coming to Starbase 118 and finding Alora, taken time to sort through his feelings - because despite being known for being ‘a cactus’ as his wife called it, he felt emotions just as strongly as everyone else, and, as it is often the case with emotions, he knew very well that they were not always reasonable. And so, when neither being able to name, nor justify them, he had decided to ignore them.

Back then - and atonishingly only a few days ago - everything had seemed easy and straightforward. He and Alora were going to leave together, find a way to cure Kalin of his time-jumping eventually, and … continued life.

It had felt like a dream, and Kalin had wanted to believe in it so badly.

Really beautiful characterization of this character ❤️

Tastes like chicken?

I'm gonn a highlight a little bit of this, but I wanted to send heartfelt thanks to @Wes Greaves - your teamwork with @Anthony Meeks and @Sera this mimssion was fabulous and your last post was an action-packed, team-oriented joy to read!  It was fantastic seeing Greaves in action!

The Marine rechecked the setting on his phaser, confirming once again he was almost out of charge. Then he hustled next to Sera, his hips and shoulder firmly pressing into her hip and shoulder. While he faced backwards, she still faced forwards up the stairs. Wes wasn’t sure if the woman truly understood the purpose behind the formation at first, but it was a sound tactic that all of his Marines employed back on the ‘Oumuamua. They stepped together, Sera forward and Wes backward. In that fashion they climbed quickly, always having a weapon pointed up the stairs in front of them as well as at the open landings behind them. When they finally reached the top the sound of gunfire in the top room was nearly deafening.

Greaves: (Whispering) We go together. You left, me right. Ready?

Blackwell: Oh that’s me, you know, a beacon of optimism.

McLaren laughed, nodding.

McLaren: And thats why we love you Rue, always so optimistic.

Renot: Glittery, glowing beacon.

Tito almost stopped, turning to Renot

Tito: Bacon?

I know I teased this on Discord, but I really do love this question:

And he cut. And closed his eyes.

Tito: Are we dead?

 Renot/Blackwell/McLaren: ?

1: I dare someone to answer that you're dead and run with it....

2: @Vitor S. Silveira...

S. Sherlock: What...are...you...wearing?

A. Sherlock: Clothes?

S. Sherlock: What's on your face?

A. Sherlock: Lipstick?

Shevon let out a slight chuckle and Aine wondered if it looked that bad.

S. Sherlock: You look like someone who's going somewhere and trying to fit in ::beat:: and going to fail.
