  1. I never suspected @Genkos Adea was such a pottymouth (and had such a disregard to the fourth wall)! Romulan Dictionary in case you want to check what that word means!
  2. @Vitor S. Silveira, I love you and I hate you (not really)! For context, Silveira calls Jovenan "Nan". A few days ago in Discord, some of us admitted they were initially confused by that! Sim Later
  3. Aww, thanks, Kris! I've spent a few days planning the language but the sim itself was written late at Saturday night. Nice that you liked it anyway!
  4. This is it, guys, gals and pals. This is how you make a girl feel like a princess (both the character and the writer)! I knew where we were going and agreed to it, but it still surprised me positively! Thank you, @Vitor S. Silveira For the context, a ship from an alternate universe suddenly appears in front of the Artemis, including the counterparts of the crew. Alternate universe Jovenan tries to spy on the Artemis by "convincing" the Prime universe Silveira to give her information on their weapons, but it backfires gloriously.
  5. Well, her being "dubious" is not really the intent, but rather the conclusion based on her background by the other characters. She is an officer of a foreign military (Edo Divine Fleet) without formal alliance with the Commonwealth, and is only posted to Commonwealth Interstellar Fleet ship because the governments' interest align against a shared enemy. That makes her understandably dubious to some other officers there. I thought the characters would hate her because of her being an "utopian princess" as Gila put it, and because of her not realising the seriousness of the situation and not caring what happens to the other characters. Turns out, they hate her also because some of them think she might be siding with the enemy! And I'm liking it!
  6. @Vitor S. Silveira is perhaps better known for a bit of humour, but he can write truly heart-breaking stories as well. This was an amazingly and painfully realistic sim; technology and species might be new, but the story, the story never ceases to be relevant. Absolutely great work! Original: Weights on the soul.
  7. That was a quick appreciation! Thank you, Yalu ❤️
  8. I'll take part in the non-digital category. I used (cheap supermarket) coloured pencils on paper. I'm not much of an artist, but I wanted to take my shot and drew something first time for a long time. The theme of this round of the competition is "Through Hardship Into the Stars", or "Per Aspera ad Astra". To me, that represents the ideal of determination; of not giving up, no matter how grim and dire the circumstances appear to be; of rising up after being beaten down; and finally, succeeding. That’s why I want to tell you all a story. It’s a story you all probably have heard, but only few have ever stopped to think about. In 2366, the last contact was made with the New Providence colony. The flagship of the Starfleet was sent to investigate, but when their away team set their feet on the ground of the planet, they didn’t find the colony. What remained of the once beautiful city was a large, dead crater. The ship left to pursue the attacker, leaving the former colony world behind them. This is where the story of New Providence officially ends. You might remember what happens next: the Enterprise engages the Borg, resulting to the Battle of Wolf 359, resulting in the deaths of thousands of people. However, we never hear what happened to the New Providence colony again. I want to believe people didn’t give up. The original colonists were lost, but their desire to make the planet a home one day should not be let to die out and vanish. I want to believe that the story of New Providence continues after the darkness of the night and the new dawn rises. To rebuild, where we have once built.
  9. I like being in Science, but I also considered Nursing when I joined the Academy. There aren't any active PC nurses currently as far as I can see, and has ever been only a few. I think it's an underused and underappreciated field in Starfleet. There are only a few nurses named in canon, and they don't really make it to the main cast. I've heard Nurse Chapel got a bigger role in SNW, which sounds cool, but I haven't seen it yet so I can't tell. And here in SB118, nobody really bothers to mention nursing in the duty post lists, not to mention there isn't even proper wiki page for the duty post! I guess people see nursing as lesser to medical and just go there when given the choice, and they might get pressured to switch to medical if they raise in rank enough. I opted to science due to its flexibility and the fact that I know something about how to do science, but I have little idea what nurses normally do, particularly compared to medical officers.
