Hey Everyone!

I am new to this kind of online experience. I have, however, played D&D and pathfinder with friends in my local area and enjoyed it, so I'm helping this experience is just as much fun.

My name is Lyle and I'm from Michigan. My character is Eston Ares. I happened to stumble on to this site as I was doing research for a TV show concept that I am writing up. I start Feb. 24 with my training period!

My Display Name is not the same as my Character Name. Does anyone know how I can change my display name to match my character name, if there is a way? Thanks in advance for your help and everyone have a great day!

Hi all, my name is Adam and I'll be simming for Rinev Shryn. I used to write here about five years ago when I simmed as Jorus Cogud and Ssandon on the Discovery-C and Duronis Embassy respectively. Sadly starting uni got in the way of this and took up a lot of my time. I have since graduated however and looking forward to writing with you all again!

Hello everyone!

My name is Rebecca, I am from the Netherlands, have a fondness for mills, cheese and tulips, but do not wear clogs.

me.jpg.e427206dd0a15e0c3085729ce9548cac.jpgEver since I was a little girl, I had a facination for the moon and the stars. When the teacher asked the class what we wanted to be when we grew up, most of my 7 year old peers said policeman or doctor. When it was my turn I said,  "Astronaut". Sadly, when I grew up I realised the chances of this becoming a reality were VERY small, especially because I have a liver deficiency and to go into space one needs to be top fit. So, dream shattered? No, dream adjusted. I would not go into space myself but I could build stuff that went into space. The very next best thing!

So with the new goal in mind, I studied hard and my aptitude for technology helped me to get good enough grades to enter into a technical university. When the head teacher asked what I wanted to study next I said "Aerospace Technology". He looked at my grades and told me I did not have all straight A's on my scorecard, so as a girl it would be better to choose something a bit more fitting... Dream adjustment again? No way! This time... I already knew I could achieve what I wanted as long as I would set my mind to it and so... ignored the teacher and did it anyway. It was the best choice I ever made.

P5250021.thumb.JPG.82b990327a0aa26aa60ffffd7f60a703.JPGAt the beginning of my Aeronautical Engineering studies, I worked on Fokker 100 aircraft maintenance, dove into the student life of Delft, spent 6 months working on design stress and fatigue calculations in the UK, had a blast developing and building a lightweight fire extinguisher as graduation project and visited many schools in the country to enthuse kids to study Technology. (Okay, and I did lots, and lots, and lots of homework and cramming for exams) Now, 13 years later, graduated Aeronautical Engineer and managing the Quality Assurance team for one of Europe's biggest Satellite Constellation projects!

I am single, so the person I love most in my life at the moment is my younger sister. 😉 No pets. Had some fish for a while, but the tank did not fit in the car when I moved to Germany, where I currently live. My work takes me all over the world and I enjoy to meet new people and explore new cultures.

Gardening 🌷 is the Jin, to my technology filled work, Jang. It keeps me balanced. (in other words, it prevents me from going totally insane, though I am already a bit bonkers...) Each time in spring when seeds start to germinate or the new growth starts to appear, I think to myself, what a wonderful world we live in. And I think the same when an airplane takes off or when a used rocket lands back on a platform in the middle of the ocean.

Oh, and I do not have to tell you that whilst I was dream chasing I became a massive Star Trek fan! After having seen DS9, Voyager and ST Enterprise air on tv, I eagerly awaited the next series, but year after year only repeats were broadcast and eventually the ST universe seemed to have become totally silent. To satisfy my yearning for new episodes, I started to write them myself. Now, over a decade later, luckily Star Trek is back, but I still enjoy the creative process of fantasising and writing. However, typing on a pc in the evenings is a lonely business.... Imagine the smile on my face when I found the SB118 community!

I am ready. Beam me up!

Hey everyone!

My name is Marc, I'm playing Tobias Steiger and I'm hailing from Germany.
In around a week I'm going to be 33 years old. Thanks to the recent Corona-Outbreak I've quite a lot of free time to spare.

After playing a TON of Pen and Paper RPGs over the years I've decided to "branch out" to the English community to train my general English skills and to have fun playing RPGs online.
So forgive me for my bad writing skills for now! 😁 If you spot an error or want to give me some tips or pointers, feel free to! Right now I'm working with my gut feeling and a little bit of google translate.
After watching "Picard" and falling in love with the general feeling of the show I did two things: Applied for a character here and downloaded Star Trek Online. 🤗

I'm looking forward to playing with you all!

Hello Marc, my name is Sergio and I'm 'hailing' from Spain, so we're about in the same time zone.

I'm glad that you've joined us, I've been around here for about eighteen years and still simming! So, I understand these first moments when joining such a community in a foreign language, so feel free to contact me anytime if you need something. I've improved my english a great deal just by playig here, of course the use of a translator was a day to day basic for me the first years due to some expressions and made up phrases, so don't be ashamed to ask the meaning of anything you don't get (I did it a lot of times and people in general are very kind and willing to help).

Regarding to the "Picard" series, we're still simming on what's known as the prime universe, and the year is 2397, so the events of Picard are in the future. So, for the moment, the best references to play are TNG, VOY and DS9.

I hope that you're training goes smoothly and hope to see you around in the fleet soon.

My name is Lee Carroll.  I'm near Charlotte, NC.

I have done play-by-post fantasy RPGs for years and decided to I wanted to try playing in the Star Trek universe.  After looking at numerous other Star Trek RPG sites, this one seemed to be the most well put together and most up to date.  I liked the application process and the rapid response.  I'm looking forward to participating.

Howdy there. I'm Dr Moon(e), it's my real name. Most people call me Moon. I've applied under a character whose name is Airik. I'm still fairly flexible in the medical or other sciences. I applied using a race that was not listed in the database, but is a known race in the Star Trek universe and isn't anything obscure. I live in the U.S. in the State of Minnesota. I found this site through a Google search. I was a big Star Trek pbem fan a few years ago - er - 20 years ago which makes me seem old, even at 41. I fell away from it for many years and am really interested in getting back. I was/am a big TNG fan and have seen all the different series except I think the cartoon (does that even count). For the last 12 years I've operated a consulting business working with nonprofits and governments on policy and programs for older adults and their caregivers as well as some policy for people with disabilities. This month I've made a big transition and decided to accept a full-time faculty position at the local university where I oversee work in gerontology (the study of aging).

I guess that's all for now. I'm accustomed to using boards, but each have their own functions and idiosyncrasies so I hope I can find my way.

Welcome to the Fleet @Dr Moon! It’s a pleasure to have you! I’ve been here over a year now and this group is incredible. I feel so blessed to have found such an amazing group with even better people to back it up!
