USS Thor Narrowly Escapes Calamity, Crew Reunited On DS9

Recommended Posts

DEEP SPACE NINE, BAJOR SYSTEM — After a harrowing escape from the clutches of an alien weapon and the unknown dangers of quantum slipstream, the USS Thor (NCC-82607) has been recovered from deep space and towed back to safe harbor by a Starfleet task force.

“We got lucky, but a wise man once said ‘fortune favors the prepared.’” Lt. Cmdr. Geoffrey Teller, in command of the Thor for the duration of the disaster, explained. “The crew responded incredibly to the overwhelming challenges this incident presented.”

When asked about rumors of unknown intelligence behind the attack, Teller was evasive.

“You should direct your questions to Starfleet Security.”

As of press time, repeated inquiries have received no response.

Separated from the ship prior to the disaster, Fleet Captain Aron Kells assembled what resources were available to conduct a rescue operation. Aboard the science vessel USS Tharsis, he had this to say upon seeing the damaged Thor for the first time.

“We had prepared for the worst,” said Kells, of the force that included the Indefatigable, the Alameda, and more, “but I can’t pretend that it was easy to see the Thor in such obvious distress. I’m told the ship and crew were lucky, but it didn’t look like it, not then.”

With the ship recovered and the previously evacuated crew reunited with their colleagues, the ship begins a period of extensive repairs while Kells has offered the crew extended shore leave and accommodations on Deep Space Nine.
