Need even more inspiration for writing award nominations? Check these out!

Recommended Posts

How can you maximise the number of award winners on your ship? Simple! There is a strong correlation between the number of award nominations a ship makes, and the number of award winners. But writing nominations can be daunting, especially if this is your first awards year, or you’re new to the fleet.

Never fear, we have collated a selection of nominations from previous years to help provide you with some inspiration.

Ready to get started? Click here to open the award nomination panel. You’ll find full instructions, including a link to a list of all the awards and their descriptions.

Voyager Medallion (Operations) Nomination for Esa Darkdust:

“Our young and intrepid Ensign Darkkdust is a wonder to behold at operations. Her sims are well written and extremely detailed. She brings to life what could be a boring post of just tapping buttons. The Atlantis is a living and breathing entity and Esa keeps her operating at peak proficiency. If not at her post, she is almost always down near the computer core, tinkering on one item or another. Her skills were necessary in the rescuing of the ship from disaster more than once and I have a feeling that will be the case soon again.“

Lwaxana Troi Medallion Nomination for Toryn Raga:

“A mission specialist unlike any other, Toryn Raga has proven time and again that the best way to get something done is to fling himself straight into the line of fire and hope for the best. A hero without the cape, Raga helped finish a mission at the risk of his own life more times than I can count. I swear his goal is to show how many times he can end up in sickbay. Is it his mind today? Maybe he almost lost an arm? Poison gas, perhaps? All of this leads up to a man willing to lay it on the line for those he cares about. His sims are works of art, where you get to see the thought process of a man trying to prove to himself and to everyone else that he is worthy of attention. Worthy of a place in Starfleet. Raga’s look on a situation is unique and compelling and just what a ship in the Expanse needs in its mission specialist.“

Rising Star Award for Jarred Thoran:

“There’s no denying that this fleet is filled with worthy candidates for this award, but I submit that Jarred Thoran is among the very best. It should be noted, first and foremost, that Thoran doesn’t fit the bill perfectly. A brief look at his service record will reveal the truth; he has risen already, to considerable heights. It is this that makes him so special, in my eyes. Many would view the achievement of attaining the rank of commander a crowning moment, but for Thoran, there’s no place to go but up. He does not hide his ambition, and looks forward to the day when he may command his own starship, but as with everything he does, he looks for how to serve before he seeks to satisfy his own desires. I cannot imagine a better prospective commanding officer, and I am confident this is what he will be very soon. Richard proves that just because one is high already does not mean one cannot reach higher, and this precisely what he does every time he sims, every time he mentors, every time he participates in the swath of OOC activities that exist in the fleet. He shows there is truly no limit, and for this, I believe he would be a perfect candidate for the Rising Star Award.“
