Many officers approach Starfleet with high hopes and ambitious dreams. In some cases, these dreams include reaching the captain’s chair, or even the admiralty, a noble conclusion to a fine career of service and exploration. However, in some rare cases, Starfleet officers have gone beyond even these remarkable achievements, and have taken up positions in governance and civil service, or, as with Jonathan Archer, the presidency.

It goes without saying that politics and civilian work do not appeal to all characters in our universe, or people in our world, and that acting as the president of a trillion individuals united under a single banner would be no easy feat. But someone must fill the role, and who better than an officer that has spent their life in the pursuit of the Federation’s ideals?

How interested would YOUR character be in acting as President of the United Federation of Planets?

She wouldn't. I mean, she's an introvert and talking in front of people scares her. So....yeah. Her own comfort zone is hiding in a corner somewhere. Tinkering. With something...

Hannibal is a soldier to his core, so political office is not something he would seek. He feels he will have a greater effect out in the black than cooped up in some plush office....blech....

Nugra would consider it as something of interest as he's dabbled a bit in politics but right now he's focused on his Starfleet career. He's 255 right now. Maybe when he's closer to his 300s he'll consider it.

Piravao's Zhavey (mother) is a politician. This meant that while Piravao was growing up she didn't see much of her mother because she was always away in the capital for Political Business. Piravao gained a healthy distaste for politics (and her Zhavey) because of this. A political career would be the last thing on her mind.

Sal's father is a politician, Sal is a diplomat and somehow he keeps getting promoted... it's certainly not his goal but sure, he'd run if he felt it was something that needed to be done.

The Foster boys?  Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.  No.  Hahahahahahahahahaha.

Lephi would absolutely run for the presidency. While the position in and of itself wouldn't be very profitable salary-wise, the connections and deals she would be able to make would more than make up for it.

Also, she'd finally be able to show her dad that she could still be wildly successful as a woman.

Jalana wouldn't want to. She became a Doctor because she did not want to follow her Diplomats (now Ambassador) father's footsteps. It is just not for her. Now that she has become a Commanding Officer is the closest to Diplomacy she ever wants to become and even now she'd love to push these parts on someone else but goes through because she has to and it's part of her job.

BUT if she was pushed into it she would live up to the challenge. (Aka Designated Survivor Setting) :D
