A very detailed look at the topic of terrorism in Star Trek. This is apparently part 1 of 2.

I didn't see the new Picard trailer posted anywhere here yet, so I thought I'd drop it off here for interested folks.

Thought of a fun discussion question: Do any of you have a character in Star Trek (any of the shows) that you think makes a good role model or that you look up too? Why? I think Kira is a good role model in some aspects. She is strong and stands up for what she thinks is right.

I got a hankering to watch an episode of Star Trek the other night and I selected one of my very favorites. A seventh season gem called Lower Decks from The Next Generation series. You all probably remember the one: Several junior officers are followed throughout the episode. We see competition among ensigns for promotion, speculation and gossip among friends, a civilian and his interaction with the crew. It feels like we get to see more depth and behind the scenes of serving on a starship. It's the feeling that kind of drew me to swimming with Starbase 118 in the first place. Does anyone else have a standout feeling for this or another episode that just makes it your favorite?

Here. And it's sortable by show!

Official Discovery Season 2 Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!)
Rahman and Rivi Vataix posted a topic in Trek Discussion
Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery kicks off January 17, 2019! We'll start this one thread for now to see how much discussion it generates and if we need to split into individual episode discussion threads, we can, but I think keeping it all in one thread should be manageable and easy for others to flag as filled with spoilers if they're worried about that. So, let's begin... RED ALERT! SPOILERS BELOW! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED -
Hey all! So I know I'm late to the party, but I've just started watching Discovery (about six episodes in - no spoilers please!) and was just wondering how people felt about it? I like the story and when I get lost in it, I find myself enjoying it, but then certain things snap me out of it. The main problems I have with it are: 1. The Klingons. I find myself subconsciously thinking of them as an entirely new/different species. 2. The direction doesn't feel very Star Trek-y, which would be fine on another show. But I find myself having to adjust to it, rather than being able to just slip into it. 3. Considering the story takes place 10 or so years before TOS, the technology on display seems to be too futuristic (which I know seems an odd thing to say for a Sci-Fi show). Maybe it's just me and I'm not saying I don't like it, I just don't really know how I feel about it yet, so was wondering what other people's opinions are.

I think they look AMAZING! exactly what Discovery should have done in the first place! What do you guys think?

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but what do you fine people think of Quentin Tarantino directing the next Trek movie?

Hi all, My wife and I are thinking of watching Star Trek tv shows starting of course with TOS and hopefully working our way through the rest. My question is that when it comes to the movies are they chronological as in should they be watched during the TV shows or should they just be watched individually. Hope that makes sense Thanks ☺

So I'm finally getting around to watching the TOS and just had my mind blown watching LtCmdr Ann Muhall (TOS) senior most female character in TOS. I knew that voice! The actress Diana Muldaur then goes on to play Dr. Pulaski on the TNG. So now I'm curious, anyone pick up any other TOS secondary characters going on to play roles in other ST series?
