  1. (( Flashback )) (( 121 years earlier )) // Expedition Commander’s Officer’s Log. [Stardate 227411.23]. Seventeen hours after entering the Shadows, Pellecia suffered an unexpected failure of its propulsion and the subspace cloak. Without the protection of the cloak, a subspace drag effect created by the dense tetryon fields caused sudden and rapid deceleration. Though inertial dampeners were able to compensate, several systems were damaged and three crew were killed by shifting cargo. Full damage report and the names of the deceased are attached. Let it be known that they
  2. ((Runabout USS Farrow)) :: For Dante Termine the adrenaline of open combat wore off soon after the final decompression fire from the robot vessel snuffed itself in the void of space. In it’s place, there was left only the anxieties of a new placement, made infinitely more unnerving by entirely singular arrival. After all, seeing your new ship in pieces wasn’t the homecoming any Ensign wished. Dante drummed his fingers, a bad habit he had never been able to quit. Dane glanced at his coms panel. It was still full with continual damage reports and all-gre
  3. (( Agricultural Administration Building - Ih’aesn - Sikuna )) :: Nugra was caught between feeling surprised by the fact that their situation had gone downhill to realizing that it always went downhill. Yiggtissi's suit had been compromised and the governor of this city was dead. He had two Starfleet officers to protect in case the colonists became a mob. He was not in the mood to kill anyone at present. :: :: Stepping out into the hallway while everyone followed their assignments, Nugra pulled his PADD out of his pocket to quickly get an idea what was going on with the oth
  4. (( Outside - Ih’aesn Agricultural Administration Building )) ::Their people were sick and dying, and all their acting Governor could care about was repairing the verteron array. ::The Romulan male huddled inside his thick coat at the fringes of the protest line; watching, waiting, thinking, slowly disintegrating. The Hawking hadn't been enough to continue their scientific experiments; they'd called in backup. Now they were being invaded by the Gorkon and their teams. He wondered what lies they would be told in the building; the virus had only just been disco
  5. ((Many, many feels. Great stuff.)) ((Alien Complex, Navatria, Arndall)) Dairro: Commander, come on, they’re closing on us. Leave him ::Jarred rubbed his eyes, with added pressure and rose to his feet. Green flashes buzzed passed, cracking in the air as they flew passed him. Risking a look back, he could make clearly make out the creatures, four emerald green eyes glowing in the dim light. They let out a screech as Jarred reached for his phaser and fired a few shots towards them when he heard Dairro cry out.:: ::Looking to his side his saw his fr
  6. I wanted to publicly thank the Veritas crew, our guest simmers, and other well-wishers throughout the fleet who helped to make the IC wedding between @Mei'konda and @Evan Delano so enjoyable. I know there are still a handful of scenes wrapping up (I have some tags I need to respond to myself), but I wanted to make sure to put this out there before Veritas gets too wrapped up in our next mission. There were a number of really fantastic sims that came out of the event, and I really enjoyed the chance to explore my character and these relationships in a different context, and to see other people
  7. ((Esperance, Eagle Eye Meadows)) ::Once the music started up again, Taz could hardly wait to get up from her seat. Don’t get her wrong; the ceremony was beautiful, and she was genuinely happy for Delano and Mei’konda. But it was also a lot of sitting… for someone who was as restless as her, sitting in one place for too long was torture.:: ::She raced over to the refreshments that had been set up along a narrow table near the bar. As she contemplated which treat to take — that pastry looked like it had her name on it — she felt the distinct presence of a snoop coming up behind her. Sh
  8. @Mirra Ezo keeping up diplomatic relations. ((Syrandio - Outside Syrandio Medical Centre )) ::A distraction. No big flashes of light or heavily armed backup. But they had to do something, keep them looking in their direction long enough to let Lieutenant Pran and Lieutenant Pandorn set the charges.:: Ezo: So, what do you have in mind? Open a channel in the guise of negotiating for the injured...? Adyr: Somehow I just don’t see them caring. ::That was unfortunately accurate. In fact, if they brought up the injured, they could just turn them into a liability. No slaver
  9. (( Ayiana’s Quarters, USS Gorkon )) :: Ayiana stared into the mirror and saw a stranger looking back. :: :: It was the collar. It felt so alien. Funny how a simple change in pigment could add the weight of the world, or in this case, the ship, on one’s shoulders. The red didn’t just signify a change in department; Ayiana was taking on the most important job on the ship, next to the Commanding Officer, of course. :: :: Ayiana was leaning forward against her bathroom counter, her arms propping her up. Her hair was immaculate, save for a few wispy strands hangi
  10. (USS Blackwell - Deck 21 - Main Engineering)) Little: I would expect there to be little or no help from either side. ::He pulled up a short range scan and checked it out before moving on.:: I can see why you have had trouble, Lieutenant... We’ve been Raspberried… ::He looked up slightly at the confused look on her face.:: ::Once more, Rolla looked across at the engineer with a hiked eyebrow and a quizzical expression. The man certainly had a way with words.:: Little: An Earth term I picked up at the Academy. It’s of no importance… ::He continued on with an
  11. ((Tasha’s Quarters, USS Gorkon)) ::Tasha grinned, picking up the miniscule nacelle. She could feel each and every bump and imperfection in the material. Her new, cybernetic fingers were much more sensitive than her flesh and blood ones. The technology had been pioneered by Doctor Noonian Soong, and introduced to the federation through Data.:: ::Soongs work in the cybernetic field had been one of Tasha's main sources of inspiration during the construction of her prosthetic. She had reviewed technical information regarding Data's arms and read papers written about him. Sh
  12. @Anath G'Renn I especially loved the part where you put Jarred back together ((Navatria, Valcarian Capital, Arndall)) Thoran: I don’t much like the idea of heading to a Valcarian facility. Doctor, do you think he’ll survive long enough for a shuttle to arrive? G’Renn: He’s not going to drop dead right this second, but the longer we sit here debating what to do the closer we get to that point. Thoran: Okay, i’d like you to do what you can for the moment. Ensign Ferentis, see if you can raise Ensign Mandak for an emergency evacuation. Ferenti
  13. ((Beta Quadrant, Par'tha Expanse, USS Atlantis, Deck 5, Sickbay)) ::The conflict that had consumed their small yet renowned vessel had finally come to completion. Their enemy, the one who had laid them low in a matter of minutes and ravaged the Atlantis was now seemingly destroyed. The Aeroshuttle was once more in her home affixed to the Atlantis and the recovery of their home was underway. A small part of that was the transference of Tarva and Raga from the vessel's med-bay to Sickbay. Transferred along with it was the EMH that had been tending to them both. The two resided on bio-beds s
  14. ((Planetary sciences lab, USS Atlantis)) :: Torali was studying some unusual plants that they had picked up here in the expanse, an activity that she enjoyed doing. She wished they could have taken some samples of the lower evolved life forms as well, particularly those that would have fallen within the insect classification. It would have been very informative to see how they interacted with the various different types of plants available here on the ship. :: :: She had just finished examining a section of climbing vine under the microscope when. :: Serala: =/\=
  15. (( Arndall )) (( Kematta Foothills - 17 kilometers from the First City. )) (( Time Index: 13 Hours before Blackwell arrives )) ::First Lieutenant Janra Vross peered in the stygian gloom and made no attempt to hide her discomfort. Ever since her mother had punished her as a small girl for misbehaviour by locking her in a tiny cupboard in her bedroom, she had never enjoyed dark and enclosed spaces. Now memories of those traumatic times came flooding back to her as she looked down the scope of her disruptor rifle. She took several deep breaths and tried to focus on the matte
  16. OOC: While it might seem rather big headed of me to post a simm I had a direct hand in writing- I'm actually posting this because @Kali Nicholotti absolutely knocked it out the park here. An absolutely stunning piece of prose from her! -- (( USS Blackwell - Deck 1 - Captain’s Ready Room )) (( Time Index: 1000 Hours - 2 Days After the Holodeck )) ::Theo Whittaker had already had three coffees that morning and it was shaping up to a day where he would have three months. At least. On top of the minutiae that came with his new role as Blackwell’s Commanding
  17. ((USS Atlantis, Dermont’s Personal Quarters - Deck 4)) (OOC:The day they were scheduled to depart the moon) ::Three hours ago, Dermont had walked into his quarters after a full day of finishing the refit to deck thirteen. He had been pleased with the results, despite having to give a Romulan a secure, unmonitored comm line off the ship. That hadn’t set well with him, but he was learning to get over it. Of course, some brig time thanks to his overly paranoid self had begun to teach him a lesson about assumptions.:: ::He had entered his quarters, rather exhausted,
  18. ((Holodeck, USS Blackwell, In the Caves)) ::It was all she could do to keep firing. Thankfully, she’d gotten quite a few lucky shots and the ones on the other side didn’t seem to get any. With the thought that she might actually end up hurt or dead in this exercise, she felt a kind of fury well up within. How dare anyone put the crew at risk, especially without telling them that.:: ::Her mind scattered as her body went into autopilot mode. Faster than she could keep track, she fired arrow after arrow making sure to stand between the counselor and the weapons
  19. (( USS Blackwell - Deck 4 - Captain's Quarters )) ((Time Index: Shortly after Theo's writes a letter to his mother as seen in 'Letters Home')) ::The Blackwell glided through space at warp, every second bringing it closer it destination: the planet Arndall. What awaited the crew there nobody could know for sure but had Theo been a betting man, he would surely wager nothing good. The Valcarians and the Caraadians' Cold War was in imminent danger of heating up and Starfleet wanted the Andaris Task Force to step in before anything could happen. Had Arndall been located anywhere else
  20. OOC: Having watched this relationship from the beginning, through it's trials and tribulations, I don't think there was a dry eye in the house by the end of this sim. ((Holodeck Nightmare Scenario Number 347)) ::And here they were all together again. And they were also all fighting a gigantic red dragon in fantasy armor. And somehow this was a normal day on the USS Constitution-B. Spells were flung, swords were swung. Shields were used and everyone lived. Except the dragon which died in an... Actually let's not think about that right now.
  21. "Tatash offered a sincere smile to Wesen, although it translated to a hellscape of pointed teeth in his scarred snout." Loved this bit of description. (Wesen is a holodeck creation who is trying to bargain his way to freedom through the use of a riddle)
  22. ((Ferentis' Quarters)) ::The Pahkwa-thanh slumbered.:: ::His enormous face rested on the reinforced floor of his quarters, a bit of drool escaping the clutches of his massively powerful jaws. Flesh on his midriff heaved in a deliberate, unrushed rhythm; his breathing, at least for the time being, could be as lackadaisical an affair as he liked. Tiny arms gave the occasional gentle flick at invisible phantoms, seen only in the imagination of one drowsy dinosaur.:: ::Ferentis was wiped.:: ::All that work keeping the holodeck operational had certainly drained his faculties, bo
  23. ((USS Blackwell, Corridors)) ::The stars rushing by seemed so close, as if she could just reach her hand beyond the transparent aluminum and grab one. It was a testiment to just how humanity had interjected itself into what was once untouchable. Space, the stars, heck, even Earth’s own moon was once out of reach. And then one day, someone dared to change that.:: ::In a single decade, and with a single step, humanity had set foot on another world. Sure, it was ‘just the moon’, but for the people of that time period, it had been impossible up until it suddenly wasn’t.:: ::Not long
  24. @Randal Shayne yet another incredible Ferentis post. Such an enjoyable read ------------------------------------- ((Deck 10, Near Holodeck 1, USS Blackwell)) ::For the first time in many years, Ferentis was distracted on the job.:: ::He was a dinosaur with a keen, active mind. Despite his somewhat deliberate, lethargic appearance, beneath the massive dome of leathery skin and scaly hide that roosted upon his broad shoulders, a powerful intellect snapped and explored. Multitasking was often a breeze, with his attention rationed equally on his often delicate engine
  25. ((USS Atlantis, CMO’s Quarters)) ::It was almost time and Isabel was hurrying towards her quarters. She had never seen a mighty starship like the Atlantis land, especially not while she had been on board. She wouldn’t miss the sight for anything.:: ::Unfortunately, this had required some meddling with the shift plans, as she couldn’t be on duty while it happened. That would mean that she had to be in sickbay and there were no windows.:: Brell: =/\= Brell to all decks, Blue Alert, we are preparing to land the ship, report to your code blue stations. =/\=
