I hold advanced degrees in both music and technology, and I'm working on my third graduate degree (Doctorate in Music Theory). I've also been in the military, and through the police academy (though I never went on to become a police officer -- long story). If any of my characters suddenly wax poetic about music (especially in terms of the technical details), it's probably just because that's something I know a lot about.

I've been a Trekkie for most of my life, most of my siblings are too.
