  1. So I've started watching TOS again for the first time in many years. (Not counting the movies. I watch those all the time! ) I last saw them before they were remastered, so that gives you an idea how long its been, even though I own the non-remastered DVDs, lol. I forgot how good these were, despite the "dated" graphics and set design. I guess that was the main reason why I normally skipped TOS when binge-watching Star Trek (and start with TNG). Shows where my priorities with entertainment used to lie: looks over story. Now I seem to notice the story more, and the barriers it shattered along the way. I just finished watching "Court Martial" and was surprised at how enthralled I was with it; a good law & order story that could probably hold up in any TV show today. Even an African-American Commodore, which was probably even more unheard-of in the '60s than an African-American woman on the bridge! Rant over. Just saying how much I am enjoying watching TOS again!
  2. Congrats! I figured you might get it. That comic book cover was awesome. And congrats to Kaji as well, though IIRC Nugra's wiki right, the lizard is a neat freak. Would he really have a desk that cluttered? Heh.

  4. I actually have never seen him outside of Star Trek...except that one movie series he made. Tekwars or something like that? Never saw Boston Legal; law shows aren't my thing.
  5. The actual Enterprise CV-65 was bigger, iirc. But it was deployed when they were filming.

  7. AHAHAHA! Gorn at his desk. He looks almost as disorganized as Ayiana.
  8. Very nice. Reminds me of a school project. I had to trace a comic book cover in Illustrator. I did a Star Wars theme.
  9. My entry for the contest. Ayiana has this tricorder she has used since her early Academy days. She is constantly tweaking and upgrading it. It is one of her most precious items. Don't mind the office mess.
  10. Good work. I love Emma Watson! And a great pose!
  11. So, my question is pretty straightforward. What do you guys think the Federation uses as currency/money, if any? I know Gene Roddenberry has emphatically said "no money in the future," however, some producers such as Ronald D. Moore disagreed and have tried to vaguely imply that there is some form of currency and economy in the Federation, or at least on Earth. There are numerous examples of characters using or mentioning money in some fashion on this page: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Currency I'm kind of leaning towards the Star Trek: Online route - where people have "Energy Credits." This would be a numerical value representing the amount of energy needed to replicate an object, modified by some number or formula calculating supply and demand. I doubt Latinum would have penetrated deeply into the Federation or on Earth as much as it did on the fringes like on Deep Space 9. --- The Victory is being hauled in for a major refit, and the crew is getting a few weeks of shore leave. I want my characters to tour Earth!
  12. Personally, my favorite scene of ST4 is the Italian dinner scene. "Do you guys like Italian?" "Yes." "No." "Yes." "No." "Yes." "No." Yes...and so do you." "...Yes."
  13. So for those of you that don't know this guy, Eric Calderone is a YouTuber. He does rock guitar versions of various songs and themes; everything from Super Mario Bros, to Beethoven, to Blade Runner. Some of his mashups are pretty cool, if you're in to this type of music. Anyway, apparently he was a Star Trek fan, or at least enough of his followers wanted him to do something to memorialize Leonard Nimoy, so he made guitar Star Trek theme mashup. Personally, I like it. I'm a huge metalhead. http://youtu.be/Py4caxJ08As
  14. AAARGH!!! Why did you have to put us through this? Some of those scenes are heartbreaking! I had to give a narrow lead to his death scene <cry!> in ST2, though I think his meeting himself in ST2009 was a close second.
  15. And finally, a quick image I did today; Ayiana honoring the legend.
  16. http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/video/leonard-nimoy-remembered-la-mayor-29277212 L.A. Mayor remembering Nimoy. Also a little history behind the Vulcan salute, for those that didn't know where it came from. EDIT: MORE FEELS... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJzNKyniFfw
  17. Yes. I just heard about this. He was 83. I'd say he Lived Long and Prospered.
  18. Ah. I did not notice the age of the article. It popped up on my Facebook feed for the first time only yesterday.

  20. Every book starting with DS9: A Stitch in Time are considered to be in the same continuity, kind of like Star Wars' Expanded Universe, and will often build on or refer to events in a previous novel by a different author. http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Relaunch http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Trek_relaunch_novel_timeline However, in my opinion, some of the best books to read are definitely the Star Trek: Titan novels, Section 31 novels, the Destiny Trilogy, the and the Full Circle series. Articles of the Federation gives a good inside view of the politics of the Federation. Other novels I haven't read yet but I hear are good is the Typhon Pact series.
  21. I actually like the Enterprise-E. It's more streamlined, and much more advanced. Could do with brighter interior lighting and no Borg, though.
  22. 80s-90s kid. Grew up with TNG, and the later TOS moves (IV+)
  23. I ended up with Chakotay, but Tuvok is a close second. Its a toss-up for me. Chakotay left starfleet and joined the Maquis, but during his time in the Delta quadrant he became an exceptional commander. Tuvok has the years of experience needed for command, but I sometimes think his Vulcan logic and lack of compassion may irk a non-vulcan crew. I was totally tempted to click on the doctor. I mean, come on! EMERGENCY COMMAND HOLOGRAM!!! But I don't think the galaxy is ready for that yet...
  24. Dax. Because of her lifetimes of experience. And, I've got to support my fellow spotties.
