  1. I still have all my old LUG Trek stuff, both in hard copies and in .pdfs. I have almost everything Decipher put out for Trek. Plus, I still have all my old FASA Trek stuff, too.
  2. need to speak with you. urgent. what is the best way?

  3. Now, did that seem logical?

  4. No, did that seem logical?

  5. Funny thing...this was the very idea behind my original website (whose contents can now be found here). It was born out of the Star Trek RPG by Decipher, and a couple of different incarnations/campaign ideas that I played/GM'd. It started with a campaign focused around a group of Academy cadets and the unconventional adventures they had...which merged into them being characters in my Dark Frontier campaign (which the website focuses on), but they are spread out, much like Cody's idea, and have opportunities to work together, because of their Academy connection (they were Blackstar Squad). The website has a decidedly RPG spin to it, but the idea...I've always approached it as a Star Trek television series. I even have episode titles to last for three seasons! The concept is this: Starfleet has developed a wormhole creation device, and use it to send an exploratory fleet to a unexplored section of the Gamma Quadrant. The Romulans mistakenly take it for some sort of weapon, and attack and destroy the device as the fleet enters the wormhole. Needless to say that there is now a handful of Starfleet vessels, and some thousands of people, stranded 40,000 light years from home. Instead of trying to get back right away, they establish a small colony world, refurbish an abandoned alien space station, and spend the next three years getting to know their new neighbours, and making an enemy of their new neighbours' enemy.
  6. So, I agree. Nimoy pioneered the Vulcan species. As such, I think he still experimented a bit with how a Vulcan should be portrayed. That being said, (and because it's obviously going to be Nimoy, and why shouldn't it?) I voted for Tim Russ. Quinto does a good job, but he's still too emotional. Blalock was way too emotional. I think Tim Russ (and Mark Leonard was a VERY close second in my book) was able to study and build on the work of those before him and refine the way Vulcans act and respond. I voted for Russ.
  7. Well, it isn't...to us Vulcans! But, I know! Almost a decade. Sheesh! We're all so old now!
  8. Nice to be home. And wonderful to see how much many of you have grown...Rear Admiral! I remember when you were a Cadet!
  9. Hello, everyone. I will also be starting training on Monday. I'm a returning character, but have been gone for longer than most of you have been here for. Looking forward to sinking my teeth into simming again. It's been too long.
  10. Ugh. Here's what I got: So why do I feel like "Guy" from Galaxyquest? (Redshirt was 80%, Spock was 74%. Soooooooooooo close!)
  11. ***MORE SPOILERS** Tucker and T'Pol - the first pairing I've actually agreed with, and enjoyed...and they couldn't even get that right. They couldn't stay together? What was the problem there? So it was touching, but wouldn't it have been sadder if they had stayed together? Even had a family? I thought the ENT/TNG mix was a little cheesey, but I liked the fact that they fit it into the background of an already aired episode (even if it was obvious that Riker and Troi were older here). Whoever thought of that had a good idea. As for how I feel about the end...don't know. I just hope that when/if Trek ever makes it back to TV, that they don't start it off by contradicting established history like ENT did.
  12. Okay, this is a general question for everyone out there: Who has what episodes of TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, and any/all of the movies on DVD? The reason I'm asking is quite simple - picture resources. We have a huge number of people in this organization who want information on a topic where a picture could help. Or they want to modify a uniform for their own picture. Or they're working on a website and need a specific picture. The internet is great, but limited. You're looking for something in particular, and get the same picture that doesn't quite work from 48 different sites. I'm wondering if it would be possible for people with the episodes and movies on DVD, and who have DVD-ROM drives on their computers, to act as a sort of resource for those of us who might have need of a picture. Anyone willing to be "on call"? Kind of like a library, we can keep a record of who has what, so we know who to ask for something. Any volunteers?
  13. Okay, after those last two posts, anything I have to say is going to sound boring and unintelligent. But I'll say stuff anyway. First, I agree with Wolf. As I read OSC's Opinion I couldn't help feeling that he totally missed what Trek was/is about. After every sentence I had a "well, what about this" comeback ready. I might not go so far as to say that Roddenberry was a genius (which some people believe), but he had a vision. And it's a heck of a lot better vision of the future than things like the Matrix, or the Terminator have. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd like to live in a world where there's no suffering, no discrimination, no rich and poor, no persecution, and no good reason for mindless agression and violence. Warp drive, transporters, holodecks and the rest would just be icing on the cake. It's the changes in society and humanity that I'm interested in. Now, a little back on topic (not that everything else was off topic) - Is it just me or did anyone else VASTLY PREFER the theme from the "In the Mirror Darkly" episodes over the soft rock ballady garbage that they've played for 4 years?
  14. The other episode was called "Inner Light", it was also one of my favourites, and it won an award (Golden Globe, I think).
  15. Back to the original idea of this thread... CO = Captain Styles (Excelsior, STIII) XO = Commander Benjamin Sisko 2O/Deck Off. = Commander Chakotay COO = LtCmdr Data CEO = LtCmdr Montgomery Scott CTO = LtCmdr Worf CMO = Dr. Julian Bashir CSO = Lt Jadzia Dax SC = Lt Tuvok CHO = Lt(jg) Tom Paris Counselor = none (due to the fact that Deanna Troi and Ezri Dax were the only two we ever had, and I can't stand Deanna, and I would have chosen Erzi, but I already have the Dax symbiont present with Jadzia - can't have it twice, right?)
  16. You mean "Year of Hell," also a 2-parter. My favourites are: the Trouble with Tribbles - TOS Trials and Tribble-ations - DS9 - because the first was quite entertaining, and the second was fabulous at splicing the two together, and funny in it's own right. QPid - TNG - because Q is my favourite, and I love the lore of Robin Hood ("I am NOT a merry man!" - Worf) Lower Decks - TNG - because you never get to see everything else that goes on onboard a starship. Relics - TNG - because bringing back Scotty was a great idea, and the concept of the Dyson Sphere -and most of the Voyager episodes
  17. Okay, you've got Cpt. Spock, and Cpt. Riker, two guys who we haven't really seen in any kind of captaining capacity. So then why didn't you have Captain Sulu? We've seen him "captain" more than Riker! Or how about Captain Montgomery Scott? Or Cpt. Geordi LaForge? Or my personal favourite, Captain Styles of the Excelsior during the transwarp testing. Cpt. Clark Terrell, Cpt Matt Dekker, his son Cpt. Wil Dekker, shall I go on? More importantly, please define "best". Best tactician? Best Diplomat? Best explorer (quantity or quality)? Best at protecting/utilizing/respecting his/her crew? Best in multiple of these categories, or others I haven't mentioned? Seriously, I just like being a pain in the...you know where.
  18. I have Starship Creator, and Admiral...you're not the only one who thought it was bad. I also have: ST: Judgement Rites (TOS) - lost interest (older game) ST: Starfleet Command - didn't really like the controls ST: Starfleet Academy - wasn't bad, could've been better ST: Armada (I and II) - haven't played yet ST: Elite Force - awesome game
  19. Alternately, you could ask any engineer you come across ('cos most of us have all the books you could think of) If you'd like, you can email me with any questions you have about whatever, and if I don't know I can consult our wonderful SCE-SB118 group right here in UFoP land!
  20. I've also had absolutely nothing but problems trying to register. It won't let me, and it won't say why...it just comes up with a blank page after you submit your information. Are they still trying to get the thing up and running, or do they think they're all finished? 'Cos they aren't.
  21. One thing to keep in mind though, they ONLY have pictures of Ships. They've got nothing else, which I found quite disappointing. I mean, ships are all well and good, but what about anything else? But I must admit, if it's ships you're after, it's a great site.
